What a Beautiful Divorce

What a Beautiful Divorce
70. Longs

In the Kejora village library, Pinaka sits propped up with his chin behind his desk. The book he was reading was still unfolding, but his mind had reached India. 'When, yeah, Mas Prapto's home?' ask in the heart. He then tried to create a scenario where Prapto could have liked the beautiful and sweet smile Indian women.

'Ah, no way, ' Pinaka said again. 'I'm sure Mas Prapto is loyal. But, it could be, right, Mas Prapto was unfaithful and then did not come home again?' Pinaka shook his head quickly. 'No! I believe in Mas Prapto.' Pinaka sighed. He picked up the book and went back to reading.

"That's the name of longing, Pinaka."

Pinaka raised his head. He smiled and closed the book. The one who spoke just now was Bu Intan, who then sat in a chair in front of Pinaka's desk.

"From yesterday I saw that you had your chin up and continued to read books. Then hold your chin up again and read another book. You miss Prapto, Pinaka," said Ms. Intan.

Pinaka smile. "According to Ms Intan, will Mas Prapto not fall in love with Indian women? They're beautiful, Miss Intan."

Ms. Intan laughed. "What do you think?" Mom asked back.

Pinaka thought for a moment, then said in a tone that contained anxiety, "It is possible, Miss Intan."

Bu Intan shook his head. "That's not how you love your partner, Pinaka. Trust Prapto so you don't have the burden of loving him. We do not know what Prapto did there; whether he approached another woman or not. But, do you think Prapto is an unbelievable man? Then why are you going out with her?"

Pinaka was stunned to hear Bu Intan's words. He then nodded. "I'm sure Mas Prapto won't betray me, Ms. Intan" he said.

Ms. Intan smiled. "Don't follow your prejudices against Prapto. I also judge Prapto loyal to you. If one day he betrays you, then leave him, why stay? If your attitude and your words to Prapto are based on suspicion, it will make your affection decrease, Pinaka."

"Yes, Mom. Thank you, Ms. Intan," said Pinaka, smiling. They then talked about the new cuisine menu found by Bu Intan.

Prapto and Nimo nodded at Rahul. Before they stood up, Prapto blinked his eyes at Tri, who was then answered by Tri with a quick blink twice.

Behind Pak Rahul board house there is a large enough ditch whose water is very clear. And not far across the trench it stretches a vast garden owned by Mr. Rahul which is overgrown with many types of plants and flowers. But there is something different from Pak Rahul's garden when compared to Prapto and Nimo's garden, which is the grouping of plants.

In the Prapto gardens, plants are planted in groups. Suppose a patch of soil for tomato plants only, another patch of soil is just cucumbers, and so on. While in the garden Pak Rahul, in a patch of soil grows various types of plants mixed with flowers.

Prapto and Nimo stood at the edge of the trench while gazing at the long passageway made by the row of oak trees. On the road the hallway looked leaves that beautify the view of the hallway. Prapto and Nimo sat on the grass and washed their faces with trench water.

Nimo lit his cigarette. "Are all these oak trees planted by Mr Rahul, Boss?"

Prapto who was lighting his cigarette shook his head. "No, Nimo. Oak trees can be a thousand years old, and these trees seem to be at least six hundred years old."

"That long, Boss?" ask Nimo not to believe it.

Prapto. "Yes, Nimo, just look at google." Prapto then took a broken branch of a tree beside it and used it to paint—entah paint what— on the surface of the water trench. "Seeing Mr. Raj rejected earlier makes me so anxious we'll be rejected as well, Nimo."

"Me too, Boss," Nimo said. "Old Rahul sir is exactly what Mr. Ziko said. He's very kind, but I wonder why he refused to teach his agricultural science to Mr. Raj."

"Besides good, Mr. Rahul is also wise, Nimo. He must have had a very reasonable reason, for whatever reason. So, what do you think is the appropriate word for Mr. Rahul to teach us, Nimo?"

"I also thought so, Nimo. I will say frankly and without further ado to him." Prapto then stood up. "Come, Nimo!" bring him.

Tri and Pak Rahul were still chatting when Prapto and Nimo were already sitting back on the terrace. Mr. Rahul smiled nodding at them while sucking on the hornbill.

"From the way you've been acting and talking since, I can see that you want to tell me something, Prapto, Nimo. Say it" said Mr. Rahul. Tri smiled looking at Prapto and Nimo who were now looking at each other with astonished faces.

Prapto turned to Rahul. He then explained about the cooperation of Kejora village business with several companies and the business is now being glimpsed by several other companies, so that if Kejora village wants to develop its business wings, it will be a new business, the amount of crops must be increased. So they came all the way to the Amazon jungle and to India.

Mr. Rahul nodded. "Then, if later there are some more companies that want to work with businesses with Kejora village, of course you finally have to add land? Why don't you start adding more land from now on, Prapto?" tanyakanya.

"For now, our village chief has not decided to add land, sir. He argues that as long as the existing land can still be increased, then we will not increase the land, as a manifestation of how the Kejora village farmers are so deep and love agriculture and livestock," answered Prapto.

Prapto caught a glimpse of a smile on Mr Rahul's face. The smile that he thought was a smile agreed, but only a glance and it was even faint. "So, we asked you to pass down the rare agricultural knowledge you have to us."

Mr. Rahul exhaled the smoke of his shell, then said, "I'm sorry, Prapto, Nimo. I know you've come from a very far place, further away than Raj was. But, I can't teach it to you guys." Rahul then cupped his hands together.

Prapto, Nimo, and Tri looked down in disappointment. They were silent for quite a while. Rahul sir said nothing more. He re-ignited his shell and turned his gaze to the twilight sky, which was now being passed by a horde of birds returning to the nest.

Prapto patted the shoulders of Nimo and Tri. An applause that hinted that they would accept Mr. Rahul's refusal wisely.

Prapto smiled at Rahul and said, "There is no need to apologize, Rahul. Before we came here we were told that you did not necessarily want to pass the science of agriculture on to us. And also, it is the right of the Father to be fully handed it down or not."

"Yes, I understand, Mr. Rahul," Nimo continued. "We're saying goodbye, sir. Thank you for the meal" Nimo said. He cupped both his hands.

"Let's go home" said Mr. Rahul, smiling. "My wife at this hour will usually finish cooking soon. Let's eat first. My wife's cuisine is delicious, and all the ingredients are natural from our garden."

Tri and Nimo looked at Prapto for a decision, but Prapto returned their gazes with a grin. "No, we're not going home, Mr. Tri, Nimo," he said. He then looked at Rahul.

"Even though you refused to leave the rare agricultural science to us, I hope Mr. Rahul did not mind if we set up a tent near your house. We will help Mr. Gardening to see how Mr. Rahul farmed and raised," Prapto said.

Rahul smiled. "Can. I'll provide food as long as you stay here" he said. He cupped his hands together and said, "But I still won't bequeath any agricultural science."

Nimo seemed surprised by Prapto's decision, but soon he understood what his best friend was thinking. "I agree" he said, smiling.

Prapto nodded at Nimo. He then said to Tri, "If Mr. Tri can not accompany us, you go home first. But before that, I had Mr. Tri drive us to buy the tents and supplies we needed to stay here."

Tri smile. There was a sense of awe in his heart at Prapto and Nimo, which made him want to help their cause. Although he did not understand what was planned by Prapto, but Tri's instinct said that he had to accompany his two new friends. “I will inform my wife and tell her that I will accompany you" she said.

Bu Kajol appeared from behind the door. "The food is ready, sir," he told Mr. Rahul.

After they had eaten, Prapto, Tri, and Nimo drove to a nearby town.
