76. Final Examination

“Uncle!” exclaim Nimo. He ran and hugged the new figure.

Prapto looked at them in wonder. While Mr. Ino, Lapen, Taro, and Lennon walked up to the new person and experienced him.

“For a long time, yes, Bang Purnomo,” said Mr. Ino. He hugged Mr. Purnomo.

Prapto saw a glimpse of the resemblance on the face of Mr. Purnomo with the look of Nimo's face. Mr. Purnomo is of medium stature, with his back hair pigtailed and his eyes as glistening as Prapto's. He wears a white suit and a fedora hat.

“You look fine, Ino,” said Mr. Purnomo, smiling. “Mana Oscar?”

“At home, Bang. Just now Mr. Kades passed.” Mr. Ino turned to Nimo. “Come, Nimo, make your uncle a coffee,” he said.

Nimo nodded then went to the kitchen. Soon he returned and served coffee and tea. Everyone is sitting down. “Include, Uncle. This is my boss where I worked and my best friend. His name is Prapto,” says Nimo.

Mr. Purnomo extended his hand. “This is apparently the Prapto your father told you about earlier. Our eyes are the same, Prapto. So no wonder you're dashing,” he said, laughing.

Prapto laughs back. “Thank you, Sir. Where have you been all this time?”

Mr. Purnomo ignited his shell and looked up at the cloud overcast. After exhaling smoke, he said, “Five months after my beloved wife died, I got a painting offer in Paris. At first I refused, because I did not want to be away from the village of Kejora. I really love this village.

“But then Oscar asked me to accept the offer to paint so that I could study there and after returning home could teach the Kejora village children who wanted to be good at painting. I approved Sara Oscar, so I went to Paris and stayed there for a year.

Prapto. “Go you, Nimo,” he said after turning to Nimo. “You never told me about this.”

Nimo laughs. “I forgot, Boss.” He then looked at Mr. Purnomo. “In the suitcase that Uncle brought there was a painting? Take a look, Uncle.”

Mr. Purnomo smiled. He picked up his suitcase and took five paintings. Lapen and his two friends brought their heads closer when Mr. Purnomo finished unfurling the five paintings on the table.

“Wah, so cool! I want to learn, Cake,” said Lapen.

“I too!” connect Taro and Lennon simultaneously.

Prapto noticed Pak Purnomo's painting starting from the very end, which is a white robot painting set in a star-studded space. Next to it were paintings of various types of fish on the riverbed. In the middle there is a painting of the village atmosphere complete with farmers and pedati. Next to the village painting is a painting of a house nuanced at night when it rains. Then the last one is a painting of two swordsmen shining a sword chatting on a branch of a tall tree.

Prapto shook his head. “Learnest. I can study with the village kids, sir?” ask him to Mr. Purnomo.

Mr. Purnomo smiled. “Of course you can, Prapto. I will teach painting in the house of Nimo later,” he said.

“Copy first, Bang,” said Mr. Ino. He's already standing. “I further renovate the house Prapto first.”

Mr. Purnomo nodded. “Please, Ino,” said. He looked at Lapen. “Bang Kuncoro is still trading, right, Lapen?”

“Still, Cake. He also looks very healthy. Why, Cake?” ask Lapen.

Mr. Purnomo held up his short painting. “This painting I made to present to Bang Kuncoro. He ‘kan loves to tell me about swordsman,” he said.

“This is for you,” said Mr. Purnomo, smiling. He then gave Taro robot paintings, Lennon house drawings, and Lapen fish drawings. “For Ino and Oscar I have prepared as well, it's in the suitcase. For Ino I made a painting of a Japanese country house, and for Oscar I painted a moth. Oscar loves it on moths.”

Mr. Purnomo laughed. He then gave a rural painting to Prapto. “This is for my nephew's sidekick. And this is for you Nimo, bike painting.” Mr. Purno took another painting from his suitcase and gave it to Nimo.

The faces of Prapto and Nimo were radiant. They showed each other paintings.

“I went to Oscar's house first, yes, Prapto, Nimo. Thanks for the coffee.” Mr. Purnomo stood up. “Me company, yes, three little friends.”

Lapen, Taro, and Lennon nodded. They stood up and then paid their respects to Prapto, Nimo, and Pak Ino.

“Brother of your mother or father, Nimo?” prapto asked, after Mr. Purnomo, Lapen, and his two friends were no longer seen behind the fence.

“Abang of my mother, Boss,” Nimo replied. “Pak Ino renovates your house alone, Boss?” Nimo looked at Mr. Ino who was stirring the cement.

“Today yes, Nimo. But tomorrow he said Mr. Ino will bring two people to help him.”

Nimo nodded. The two of them continued chatting while accompanying Mr. Ino.

The days change, and the rainy season has changed with the summer. It is now January and the renovation of the Prapto house is already ninety percent complete. As usual, after taking care of their crops and livestock, Prapto and Nimo sat at a table in front of the garden kitchen while accompanying Mr. Ino and two men his age who renovated the Prapto house.

“It looks like something is being thought of by Mr. Ino, Boss,” Nimo said.

Prapto. It looks like Mr. Ino is holding his chin like he is thinking hard. Soon he shook his head and walked over to Prapto.

“You need three million more, Prapto. The design of the house you choose turned out to require quite a lot of material from our estimates,” said Mr. Ino. Then he sat down. “Material for heating furnace room, for two cabinets, and for chimney less. Two more days we need to install all those materials.”

“I don't have any more money to add materials, sir, but I'll think about it and I'll find a way. It's still days, right, Mr Ino?” ask Prapto.

Mr. Ino nodded. “Iya. Indeed, it could be a renovation of your house we 5unda first until you have money after the harvest later, but next month after the summer festival you ‘kan will get married, so you should have your house renovated.”

“That was also what I was thinking, Sir,” Prapto said. “Bapak just calm down, I'll sort this out.”

Mr. Ino and his two employees then left home.

Nimo sighed. “I don't have any more money, Boss, for building a house next to his parents' house Arini.” Suddenly his face was shining. “Oh yes, Boss, we can sell my bike. The selling price is definitely over three million.”

Prapto shook his head with haru's face. How his best friend offered to sell his bike without the slightest objection. “Thank you very much, Nimo, but I will trouble you too much. I'll ask my parents later.”

“You'd better take advantage of this as your last test, Prapto.”

Prapto and Nimo looked back. I don't know when it's coming, Mr. Purnomo has been standing behind them. He lit a cigarette and sat down. With a meaningful smile, Mr. Purnomo said, “Make this the last test.”
