"Look what I did and listen to what I said!" He took out an arrow and then put it on the bowstring.
"Align the position of the body exactly perpendicular to the target. Align yourself and imagine the line on your target from your feet." He stood up straight and spread his legs shoulder-width apart.
"Get your hip. Keep your back straight." Then he held the bowstring with his index finger, middle finger, and ring finger, clamping the arrow in the middle of the index and middle fingers.
He lifted the bow and pointed it towards the target. The inner elbow is parallel to the ground surface and the vertical position of the arc. "Direct your bow towards the target, pulling the bowstring as far back as possible to increase accuracy, with the shoulder muscles"
"Focus your concentration on the smallest point you can see on the target, don't let anything else take your eyes off." He concentrated on directing his bow at the target.
"If you feel ready to shoot, release your fingers on the bowstring and let the arrow reach its destination." He shot the arrow so that the sound of arrows shot quickly and hit the target.
___
Then every line tried it, until it was my turn.
I remember what Mr. Pier said. Align the position of the body perpendicular, then tighten the hips and maintain the back, then direct the arc to the target with the inner elbow parallel to the ground surface and the arc position vertically.
Then what else? Ah yes, aim the bow at the target and pull the bowstring as far back as possible using the shoulder muscles, then concentrate and release the fingers on the bowstring.
My arrow shot away from the target. Archery is harder than riding.
Mr. Pier saw me doing all those things, surely right now he was thinking 'What a shameful knight of Mr. Adipram's.'
I tried again and again, but always failed to hit the mark. Until the frustration grows inside me, what could I possibly do that is not right? Maybe because of the position of the body, my grip, or I can't shoot properly?
Mr. Pier approached me. "Calm down, rest a few minutes" said Mr. Pier. A few minutes later, he told me to shoot again. I took a deep breath then put the arrow on the bowstring. When I pulled the rope back, it shook my arm so that Pier responded to it, "Slowly."
Then I shot an arrow and shot away from the target. "Just another shot!" said Mr. Pier.
Still failed. "Just another shot!" shouted Mr. Pier.
"Again!"
"Again!"
"Again!"
To make me a little depressed but make me focus.
I aimed and released the arrows, watching the arrows I shot flow towards the target. The arrow landed on the target even though it was not right in the middle. "Pretty good," praised Master Pier to me as he nodded. "Remember, a good shot is to exercise your muscle memory instead of just looking at the target." Then Mr. Pier went to see the others.
When I tried again but failed to return, maybe that was just my luck.
___
In the end my shot could never hit the target again. Then I approached Adry who was also training, the shot was not always right but always hit the target.
I complained to Adry why my archery skills were so bad. "Why is archery so hard?"
"Keep practicing, gradually you will get used to it" said Adry, who is focused on practicing.
I let out a breath. " I've done it so many times that Mr. Pier helped me, at first I could hit the target, but then I always missed."
Adry replied, "That's no reason to stop practicing Reza, go back to your place."
I went back to where I practiced, tried again many times. NO ONE HIT THE TARGET!
Mr. Pier looked at me who was silent, so I was forced to keep practicing.
___
Today was exhausting. "Hey Adry, come home with me." He still continues to train.
"You go first, I'm still not satisfied with the results of my training." I'm surprised, even though he shoots a lot of times at the target, but he still says so.
"I envy you" I said.
___
I decided to go home first and then I saw someone living in my yard.
I approached them and asked them what their purpose was, "Is there a need for me?"
One of them said while making fun of me. "Listen to what he said, Mr Donovan? He said 'Is there anything to me?' After becoming a knight his behavior became extremely arrogant."
The man who seemed to be named Donovan was facing my face, he was taller than me, so when I came face to face, I had to look up.
"I've been watching you ever since you were made a knight. I thought you were a 'Hero' as people say, but in reality you're just a clown who can't even shoot arrows." He laughed at me with his friends.
I feel intimidated by it. "W-what do you mean? What's the m-problem?"
His face suddenly turned red with anger. "How could a commoner like you be a noble!?" he said while pushing myself.
What happened, why is he so angry with me? "I'm sorry gentlemen, I h-have to leave immediately."
I was held back by him. Donovan sighed and glanced at his friends. They nodded and approached me. "Don't let him go."
Her friends held my hand so it locked and made me unable to move, "Damn it! What do you want!?" I screamed at him while struggling.
"Well, Mr. Donovan! He's giving the fight." However, in the face of such a large amount, I cannot dwell.
Then he hit me in the stomach, making me nauseous. "What. s-my fault..."
He said as he slapped my right and left cheeks. "Don't pretend to be stupid, Arezha. Even though you're a commoner, I think you're smart enough to know your mistakes. You're not a noble like me. Even if you've been crowned a knight doesn't mean you're royalty, know your place" Donovan said firmly.
Though only one blow was dealt, but now I feel very weak helpless, "That's it. It's not me"
Donovan shook his head while gripping my cheek. "You're so stupid that you don't understand yet?" he said with a condescending voice and an understatement view.
He threw me in the face, then hit me in the stomach again.
This time I vomited. His friends removed their hold from me out of disgust, then I sprawled on the ground spewing out my entrails.
Someone shouted, "Buck!" Sound of a punch.
When I raised my face, I saw Adry beating Donovan's gang so that some lay on the ground, while Donovan silently watched. "Look at a poor commoner coming to his friend's rescue" Donovan said.
Adry intensely faced Donovan and said, "Hey son of a bitch! watch your words, my family is the offspring of merchants and my wealth is far more abundant than you are the lowly son of a baron. Without your father you're nobody."
Adry stood straight in front of him, making Donovan look up when he looked at Adry's face.
As if forced, Donovan slowly retreated. "Damn it, I know your name is Adry, from yesterday you always bothered me! I'll make you regret dealing with me. You'll see!" Then Donovan turned around and left, followed by his accomplice who gave a look of disdain to us.
