His subordinates had arrived with 10 city guards, they greeted Adry as his captain, then marched. "Captain, we're ready to execute our orders!"

Adry gave his order, "Share it up to 2 squads. I want one squad to patrol the streets of the city, and the other to seek the robbers' hideout. Report to me if you find anything."

"Good, Captain!" They split into 2 squads and immediately patrolled while Adry stood guard in front of the city gate, I sat beside him.

The silence lasted for a few minutes. I stood up to buy something. "Adry I'm going to buy some bread, do you want it?"

"Please bring me some, I'll change it later" said Adry

"Haha, there's no need." I also bought some bread.

I came back with warm bread in both hands, I gave it to Adry in part. "It's grab it, it's still warm." Adry took it from my hand. "Thank you Reza." Then he took off his helmet, put it beside his feet and ate the bread. "Well, this bread is soft!" adry said, enjoying the bread.

While we were enjoying the bread, two guards from a distance shouted and ran towards us. One of them was injured with a piercing arrow on his shoulder while the other was covered in blood due to several cuts that pierced through his skin armor.

Adry who saw it threw bread in his hand and immediately ran to help them. While running, he yelled at me, "Reza, bring me medicine and bandages in my office!" I immediately brought medicine and bandages and followed them.

As they treated and bandaged his wounds, Adry said, "Explain the situation!"

One of them spoke, "The search party was ambushed by 6 people! they hid and shot at us from a distance, Ernald was hit by an arrow died instantly, while Bari and Dara were busying them so I could run away to report this, please help them Captain!"

Adry immediately gathered the city guards and called back the patrol squad. Adry commands 15 guards under his control, Adry approaches me and says, "Go home Reza."

They went to rescue the 2 guards. When they were out of my sight, I saw his helmet lying on the ground, I thought they had not gone too far that I carried the helmet and ran to get the helmet back.

In the middle of the forest I saw them from a distance, his subordinates reported to Adry. "Captain, we're late, Bari and Dara are not saved, the robbers stripped the body of all the armor."

Adry said, "Damn it, bury them, don't split up! I don't want any of my subordinates to die again!"

I tried to get close to them, but my feet got stuck on something and fell, and the helmet I was holding fell on them. Adry heard the voice and then saw me. "Reza, what are you doing here, this place is dangerous!"

He approached me and took the helmet and put it on. When I was about to help me stand someone from the bushes lunged and tried to stab us. Adry reflexes pushed me far away, I was saved by it, then Adry pulled out the sword from its sheath and repelled the attack of that person. His subordinates tried to help Adry, their fate was crushed by a group of about 10 people more.

Adry slashed at his opponent, the splash of blood from his sword terrified me. There were at least 11 guards who survived the lunge and fought back. Adry who was fighting shouted, "Make a formation, come closer to me!"

Adry who was in front of me with the other guards tried to resist their attack. I didn't know what to do and was shocked to see the guards die in front of me. I took some big stones and pelted the band of robbers, one of them threw a knife at my feet. "Aragh!" the knife was stuck. When I was about to pull out the knife that stabbed me in the leg, the robber chased. My frightened self tried to run away with painful legs. I don't really want to die! Help Me!

I got caught by him. He pushed me down, trying to stab me with a blade in my chest. I tried to resist his attack by holding his hand. Crying begging. "Please!" my yelling.

One of the guards came to help me hit him so the guard sword stabbed the robber in the neck. Blood splattered as the sword was pulled out from his neck. I vomited and cried in fear, I limply ran away from the place, leaving the others behind. From a distance I still heard their voices faintly still fighting, it seemed like it was Adry's voice. "Gather together, we'll step back slowly!"

After I managed to escape, away from the fight I immediately lay limp. I shouldn't have followed them. The mixed feeling made me nauseous, made me vomit again. I heard the sound of someone approaching, when I saw it, it came from Adry with some other guards who survived.

Adry looked so upset that he said, "Damn it! I didn't know they were such a big group!"

Adry looked at his injured subordinates. "Rest and heal your wounds, after that we will return to the city."

Then an Adry subordinate who was holding a man with bound hands who fainted, said, "Captain, what should we do with this man?"

It looks like it was one of the robbers who attacked us.

Adry said, "Let him down." The man was put down, and Adry kicked the man in the stomach so hard that he woke up. "Wake up you son of a bitch!" adry shouted as he grabbed her, forced her to stand up and beat her.

After Adry was satisfied he asked, "Where is your headquarters!? how many are you!" The man didn't answer, so Adry got angry, and he beat him again. "Sat! Answer me fucking!"

The man couldn't stand his punch anymore and then whined, "Please stop, stop! I'll talk!" Then Adry gave her a kick so the man fell over. Adry sat in front of him. "Where did you get your weapons?"

The man couldn't look Adry in the eye and answered in fear, "W-we got it from m-robbing, all the equipment was loot, our group got bigger under our boss's rule, our headquarters is located east of this forest..."

Adry stood up and asked again, "Then what about your defense?"

"We have a fortress made of wooden planks and dozens of people about 80 people including myself, I've said the truth. Please let me go, I won't do it again!"

Adry took out a sword from the scabbard, saying, "So now they are playing as kingdoms and knights huh, even though this country is fighting against the Empire?"

The man who saw Adry raise his sword, frightened and pleaded, "What are you going to do with that sword? Please forgive me! I have a family! I'm just trying to survive! Please forgive me!"

"I don't care about your sad story or background you're just an evil bastard looking for justification for all your crimes. Hold her hand!" His subordinates also held the man's hand.

The man cried so much that his tears washed his face. "please don't! Please! I'm not going to repeat it again, no! nay! no!" He tried to fight but could not.

I couldn't see it, so I took my eyes off.

"After you killed 7 of my 20 subordinates, robbed and killed many people now you say so? if you're not ready to die then why are you doing that?"

Then Adry slashed both hands of the man. "Don't let him die, I want him to suffer" Adry said.

Adry's subordinate bandaged it with a bandage.

Adry brought his face closer to the man and whispered, "You will live with a disability for the rest of your life. I don't care, regret what you did"

The man was crying lamenting the reality. Maybe he is sorry for all the things he has done.

After enough rest we embrace each other and return home to the city, leaving the Man alone.

I just thought that the fight turned out to be that brutal. Where I might be in a war, I don't want to die.
