Chapter 18: New Jobs

A week already Rio and Ana are in New York, before returning to Indonesia Ana filled her daughter's flat with various kinds of furniture to various kinds of food.

Ana also ordered her ART apartment to clean her daughter's flat every morning, initially Tyshia refused but Ana remained insistent until threatening Tyshia would not allow her to stay in the flat.

"Why now does our daughter seem so happy when we get home?" ask Rio.

"Because there is already a Rangga that replaces your position hahaha." said Ana.

"Why are you so annoying lately?" rio asked in annoyance.

Ana chooses to sleep on the plane rather than answer her husband's questions that make no sense to her.

Ahead of the thesis proposal hearing, Rangga began to rarely enter work he spent more time in the library or in his campus lab, but Rangga still tried to take himself to pick Tyshia home from work, making sure Tyshia gets home safely.

"I'm sorry that I've been so busy lately, I've spent a lot of time in the library and the campus lab" Rangga said.

"It's okay byy, I hope you can finish your script soon" Tyshia said.

"But tomorrow I'll try to get to work"

"Really?" ask Tyshia.

"Yes byy, come on in!!" Rangga invites Tyshia to enter his flat after making sure Tyshia enters and then returns home.

The next day Rangga really kept his promise, he stayed to the restaurant even though he arrived late.

"Byy you eat first, you must not have lunch. Let me take your place" Tyshia handed her lunch box to Rangga.

"Byyy you are so good with me, thank you yes" Rangga looked at Tyshia deeply, he felt lucky to be able to know and be close to women as good and gentle as Tyshia, she said, tyshia's tenderness always reminds her of her beloved Alm.

"Sama-sama dear" Tyshia returned to the front replacing Rangga's work.

Towards work, Tyshia was still behind composing the dishes that she had cleaned and dried, while Rangga and other employees in front of the chair, wiping the table and mopping the floor.

In the midst of Tyshia's bustle, the restaurant owner suddenly approaches Tyshia who is alone, trying to tease and hold Tyshia's hand.

"Release don't touch me, sir" Tyshia said politely, removing the hands of the restaurant owner where she worked.

But the restaurant owner did not stop his actions, he still continued to tease Tyshia and held Tyshia's hand, Tyshia continued to brush her off then stepped away from her

"Come on baby, Just a minute." The owner of the restaurant was getting closer to Tyshia.

Tyshia retreated to the wall there was no more room for her to dodge "Please stop, sir!!!" tyshia said in a high tone.

"Brruuug..." Rangga who saw the incident directly hit the restaurant owner to fall down.

"Let's byy us out" Rangga ran over while pulling Tyshia's hand, taking her out of the restaurant immediately.

"Well, are you okay?" ask Rangga worried.

"Which part did the breng*ek touch you?" Rangga wiped Tyshia's hand with her wet tissue. Many times Rangga wiped Tyshia's hand, until all the tissue he had was exhausted.

"Did he ever do anything like this when I wasn't around?" ask Rangga.

"No, only this time he was like that. Byy I'm scared" Tyshia's eyes began to tear.

"Don't be afraid byy, I'll always protect you I won't let anyone touch you. We're looking for another job tomorrow, aren't we?" Rangga wiped away Tyshia's tears with his finger.

"Where?" tyshia asked, he became unwell to Rangga, because Rangga himself so lost his job, even though this is the end of Rangga's lecture certainly requires a lot of money, Tyshia increasingly felt guilty to Rangga.

Arriving at Tyshia's flat, Rangga looked at Tyshia's face deeply.

Rangga smiled when he heard Tyshia's answer, he opened the door to Tyshia's flat and asked Tyshia to come in and lock her in, after taking Tyshia home from Rangga to her flat.

Arriving at his flat rangga saw a job vacancy brochure become a barista and cashier in a coffee shop, the brochure was overtaken under the door of his flat.

Rangga laid his body on the mattress, then he contracted the brochure and sent it to Tyshia. Tyshia agrees that tomorrow afternoon after returning home from college, apply for a new job at the coffee shop.

"Well, what time is the hearing tomorrow?" ask Tyshia.

"At 08:00 in the morning, doain ya."

"Good luck ya byy" said Tyshia while making a pattern of clothes design

"Byy, where did you go to college? what major? all this time you've only listened to me, I've listened to all your stories." Rangga did not want his relationship with Tyshia to be about him alone, for him Tyshia was also very important.

"What is definitely not as popular as your university, I majored in accounting. I never told her because I felt like my life was ordinary - there was nothing interesting to tell. After all I was still in the early semester so still not too busy" Tyshia said.

'I'm sorry, I often lie to you' Tyshia murmured inwardly.

"Byy next time more stories yes, for me all about you is very interesting for me" said Rangga.

Tyshia just smiled, then she focused on her laptop doing her college assignments. Video calls still running despite silence, both of them busy with their respective tasks.

"Byy, it's 02:00 Rest yuk" asked Rangga.

"Okay, see u tomorrow" Tyshia turned off her video call.

The next day according to their conversation last night, they made an appointment at a coffee shop to apply for a new job. An earlier Rangga came to wait for Tyshia in front of the coffee shop.

Closer to the coffee shop Tyshia who saw the figure of Rangga from a distance, he immediately told the driver to stop.

When he got out of his car, Tyshia walked around to Rangga, then closed Rangga's eyes from behind.

"Guess who's?" ask Tyshia.

"Unfortunately I am haha..."

Tyshia blushed with embarrassment until her face flushed to Rangga's reply "Byy do you think we'll be accepted to work here?" ask Tyshia.

"Bismillah, we don't have to guess, we try first." Rangga took Tyshia's hand into the coffee shop.

One by one alternately Rangga and Tyshia in interviews by coffee shop managers. That day both were accepted to work at the coffee shop and began to work the next day, Rangga was a bit surprised why his hourly salary was so high that it reached $65 per hour or equivalent to Rp. 975,000 per hour.

"It is not necessary to think about it, we should be very grateful for the rizky that God has given" said Tyshia.

Rangga nodded his head then he took Tyshia, eating at the street food where they favorite eat.

"Byy how is the proposal going?" ask Tyshia.

"Alhamdulillah smoothly byy, there is a little revision but I can already compose the thesis" said Rangga looking into Tyshia's eyes "Byy later you will come on my graduation day?"

"Of course baby, I'll definitely come" Tyshia said "Byy after graduation where do you want to work?" ask Tyshia.

"I want to go back to Indonesia, I want to work there" said Rangga.

"We're LDR?" the look on Tyshia's face turned rather sad, he who was used to Rangga looked heavy if he had to without it.

Rangga let out a sigh, he left Tyshia alone in New York.

"I came back to Indonesia to build a small palace for us, while waiting for you to finish your lecture" said Rangga "Later if I return to Indonesia, you do not work yes. Let me work, I will transfer you so just focus with your lecture to be finished quickly and we can be together again" continued Rangga.

"I'm not as bad as you think" Rio gave his phone to Ana, he gave all the reports of his driver Tyshia to Ana.

"You're crazy, if my son is traumatized how?" said Ana in a high tone.

"I know the limits baby, I just want to know the reaction of the gang and it turns out that he is as brave as that, he dared to sacrifice his job to take care of Tyshia" said Rio.

"Happy? My father never did anything so bad to you. Why are you so bad about Rangga?"

"I just want to make sure he's the best person for our son."

"I don't have any plans other than waiting for him to graduate then call me. Is that what you want?"

"He's a chemical engineering graduate from the best university, his GPA must be good because he's a scholarship boy. Doesn't this company really need people like him?" ask Ana.
