Almekia Kingdom
69. Jasper - Old Balz

The afternoon air in the city of BloodyHell is so hot, the sun is still shining fiercely even at the end of this twilight. A gust of dry wind with a grain of soft sand that was carried by the wind swept my face many times.

I observe the situation around me, the city of BloodyHell which is usually crowded with people passing by is now quiet like an empty city left by its residents.

Well almost all residents of this city are now in the tournament hall. Watch, enjoy the fight even bet for the ongoing quarter-final match today.

I take a leisurely walk with Saphir around the streets of this city. Want to calm down and cheer up a little bit of our hearts who have lost the game today. Consider it a small date.

I stopped my steps when I realized the presence of a small hospital building standing on the right side of the street. I turned my body to the right to observe the building more closely.

This small and old hospital is the one I've been through before and I passed out in front of this building a few days ago.

"Jez? Jasper, what's wrong?" Tanya Saphir who had walked a little far ahead of me, she was astonished to see me who was still left behind. Then the girl ran lightly towards me.

"I feel like someone is calling me." My answer is still staring at the building in front of me.

"Who?" Saphir turned his head to the right and left looking for all directions. "Nobody, just the two of us along this lonely road."

"This was the hospital at the time, Saphir. Don't you want to go look inside?"

My question to Saphir was immediately answered with a steady nod. He held my hand tightly before we walked together into this building. Maybe Saphir was afraid that I would faint again after entering this building.

There was curiosity and curiosity that plagued me all of a sudden. Is there anything important in this hospital? Finally rather than harboring curiosity I decided to look around deeper into this old hospital. A glance from the outside of this building looks like an inpatient clinic rather than being called a hospital because of its small size.

Still holding hands with Saphir, I entered the old hospital building. I found the waiting room and front office of a seedy, filthy hospital with a few rusty iron waiting chairs. Equipment and furniture throughout the room also looks old and weathered to age. It looks unhealthy and unsterilized to hospital standards.

I don't know why it felt like there was such a deep longing for this place. Feelings like finally being able to go home after a long trip. Feelings of safety and comfort as if getting protected after being tired and injured in the war.

A short-haired female nurse approached and greeted us kindly.

"Is there anything I can help you with? Are you hurt?" Ask me, observing my body, exactly my clothes were slightly scratched and torn in some parts because of the explosive effect of the gear in the match earlier.

"Little injuries only" I replied accordingly.

"Do you want treatment or just ask for medication?" ask again.

"Uhm...Just medicine," I finally broke up.

The nurse nodded in response then went back to her desk to write something down in the book and took some medicine from the medicine cabinet.

"Why is it so quiet here?" Saphir's chirps while observing the state of the empty hospital leaping. There were only one or two people who looked so carefree there. We didn't even see any other hospital staff besides this nurse.

"of course. Because people in this city do not like to go to the hospital unless they are very badly injured or dying. And again this hospital is almost bankrupt and we can only do as simple service as we can. Well we're even short of employees at the moment. No doctor will work here." replied the nurse resigned.

"How is it possible? Hospitals are the most important buildings and should be in every city. Buildings to be maintained." Saphir protested in disbelief.

"It really is. No one cares about and supports our existence. We can survive so far only with donations from patients and assets of my grandfather, the owner of this hospital." He handed me a plastic pack of topical ointment-shaped medicine and some tablets.

"Apply this ointment on your wound three times a day and for the tablet you can drink a grain if it hurts," he said giving instructions.

"Thank you," I handed him some money for my payment.

The nurse was stunned to see the money I had just given her.

"Take it. Wear it for this hospital." I answered lightly, moved to help this hospital.

"Thank you, thank you, sir..." The nurse was excited to put my payment in her desk drawer.

"Uhuuuk Uhuuk Uhuuuuk Uhuuuk." Suddenly there was the sound of someone coughing very loudly from the hospital room.

The cough is very hard and continuously does not want to stop as if he wants to vomit his internal organs out of the body. It seemed like the person who coughed was suffering and in great pain.

"Grandfather!" The nurse ran frantically to the hospital room on the right side where we were standing. Run to the patient who is suffering.

Whether out of curiosity, curiosity, pity or humanity, Saphir and I also ran behind him. Followed him to the patient's room that was coughing earlier.

"Grandfather? Which part of the cake hurts?" The nurse asked frantically as she sat down the patient's body, patting the old man's heavily coughed back.

I noticed more closely the old man, his age must have been more than 75 years with his total wrinkled skin and cotton-white hair. His body was already very thin and frail consumed by his age and disease.

I don't know why my heart felt so sad to see the old man. It felt in my heart that there was a deep longing for him. As well as the affection for the old figure, as if I had known him for a long time. It was as if that man was my grandfather or the closest person and had been taking care of me for quite some time.

"Old Balz's..." Once again, the strangeness happened. Somehow the word seemed to just slide out of my mouth. A word that even I had thought of completely before. Since of course I don't even know that grandfather, how am I supposed to know his name?

And I found my body moving on its own. I approached the old body as close as possible to his bed. Take a seat on that side of the bed.

"Tu, young master? .... Uhuk...Young master, is that you?" Grandpa was shocked to see me.

The grandfather immediately hurriedly grabbed and gripped my hand. Both of his eyes looked at me sharply with a slight frown. Watching my face as if to make sure what he was seeing was real or not.

A few seconds later, the old eye cried. She shed her tears so pitifully. Wh why? Why is she crying like that?

"Old Balz it's me..." I lightly patted the back of the old grandfather's wrinkled hand with one of my hands still free.

I look at the other me controlling my body. Unable to refrain from everything he wanted to do. Doing something I never even thought of.

"Old Balz, you look so old." My mouth spoke again without excuse. And the worse my chest felt increasingly tight and both my eyelids felt hot. I can't hold my tears to suddenly drip into the corner of my eye.

What's the matter? Who is this grandfather? Why do I feel so sad to see it is this old and weak. Why am I even shedding tears for this unknown old man?

"Young master is still as handsome as ever...Decades ago, uhuuuk uhuuk." Old Balz was crying even more.

"I'm the old one, old man." Mouth answered.

"I must be old and senile.uhuk uhuk. How could the young master still be the same as before.uhuk uhuk uhuuuk."

Saphir and the nurse could only stare and gawk at the scene before them, seeing what I had just done. Seeing my closeness to old grandfather.

Let alone them, I was confused not to know what I had done. It was as if my body was moving on its own, as if my body had its own will. How could I have this emotional closeness with my grandfather I just met? How can I know his name....
