In accordance with the rules of the baznas, alms are property or non-treasure issued by a person or business entity outside of zakat for general benefit. Regarding the benefits of alms in Islam explained by Allah SWT in the letter Al-Baqarah verse 245:

“Who will lend to Allah, a good loan then Allah will multiply the payment to him by a large double.” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 245).

Almsgiving is a practice that is loved by Allah SWT. That is why the benefits of alms in Islam can have an unrelenting impact, Allah also guarantees the fulfillment of all requests that are diligent in charity. All the virtues of alms in Islam are affirmed in Al-Baqarah verse 271:

“If you show alms (you), then it is very good. And if you hide it and you give it to the poor, then hiding it is better for you. And Allah will remove from you some of your faults, and Allah knows what you do.”

Redoubled Pahala

The benefits of alms in Islam will give many privileges to the perpetrators, one of which is that Allah SWT will give multiple rewards to those who want to give alms.

“For those who are merciful to both men and women and lend Allah a good loan, will undoubtedly be doubled (reward) to them, and for them a great reward.” (Q.L. A-l-Hadid verse 18).

Redoubled Treasures

In a hadith described the benefits of alms in Islam can multiply property. Grief will not affect or reduce the property owned. This is in accordance with the word of the Prophet SAW.

Prophet Muhammad SAW said about the benefits of alms in Islam: “Sedekah does not reduce treasures.” (Moslem HR).

Although clearly the treasure looks reduced because of alms, but the deficiency will be covered with merit on the side of Allah SWT and will continue to increase in multiples to more.

Allah SWT has promised the benefits of alms in Islam in accordance with His word in the Quran letter Saba’ which means:

“And whatever you spend, Allah will replace it, and He is the best giver of sustenance.” (Q.L. Saba verse 39).

Removing Sin

The benefit of alms in Islam is that it can take away sins. As a human who must always be covered with sins, Muslims are always given the way to have the opportunity to remove their sins through alms.

Alms is a special worship because it can make it easier for Muslims to remove sins. The Prophet said:

“That alms can take away sins as water puts out fire.” (CHR. Tirmidhi).

Curing Disease

Prophet Muhammad SAW said about the benefits of alms in Islam, “Port your treasure with zakat, treat the sick (from among you) by giving alms and preparing prayers to face the coming disaster”. (CHR. Dr-Thabrani).

From the benefits of alms in Islam this means by doing something positive, such as giving alms, it will improve the immune system (immune system). The body is stronger in the face of disease.

Giving Shade on the Day of Resurrection

Narrated in the Hadith of the chronicle of Ahamad, the Prophet spoke of the benefits of alms in Islam, "The reflection of a believer on the day of resurrection is his alms." With the many benefits obtained through almsgiving, Muslims are encouraged to love alms especially in the month of Ramadan.
