Ferdians

The long whistle from the train traffic control officer sounded loud. Ferdian took off the brake lever in relief. The train stopped right on the line. He waved at some of the passengers who came down as a thank you, of course, with a smile on his lips.

Ferdian got off the locomotive and into the driver's room. Fill in the data and report the obstacles he experienced during carrying a long series of Pasundan trains from Tasikmalaya station to Gubeng station.

"Train tomorrow morning is ready to leave at 08:10 am!" said one of the traffic control officers to Ferdian.

"Okay, thanks!"

Ferdian said goodbye after taking a glass of coffee from an automatic coffee maker. He stepped out and took the phone in his pocket. Several incoming calls from his wife Mia were ignored. Ferdian let out a long sigh, he looked to his right and left before finally deciding to contact the Wife.

"Yes, what's wrong? Papah just arrived at Gubeng."

"Will it arrive? I'm sorry you're confused about not knowing who to call?"

Ferdian massaged his dizzy head. From his wife's words he could already guess what he wanted to say.

"Billing again?"

"Ehm, yes pah. Confused about where else to go for a loan!" the wife's voice choked because it held back the crying.

Ferdian let out a long sigh, for the umpteenth time he was made dizzy seven circumference. His online loan bill swelled, from ten million to forty-five million. A very fantastic number for him who is only a SOE employee.

He and his wife were forced to borrow money to one of the online loan applications, due to an urgent need. At that time the son of their only puppet Great, must be operated immediately. Damar only has a limited time, borrowing to cooperatives and relatives is clearly impossible and the process is very long.

Finally they decided to borrow some money through an application that often appears on the phone screen. In just a matter of hours some money had moved into Ferdian's account. Agung can indeed be saved but not with Ferdian's finances.

Month after month, Ferdian was having economic difficulties. He started delinquent payments and the bill's aftermath swelled up many times. Not to mention the pressure from messages, phone calls, and intimidation of debt collectors who without rules come charging.

It felt like Ferdian was yelling and cursing at his stupid self, but what a force this is all his fault that is not thinking clearly.

Mia continued to cry making Ferdian's heart slice. "Had it, papah then try to apply for a loan to the office again. If we can't also, we have to sell the house" he said no less sad.

The house in question Ferdian is a house left by his parents. The house that should have been shared with the other three brothers. Ferdian still occupies the house. There is no other option to sell the house if it is the best option. The affairs with the other two brothers will be thought of later.

After a while listening to his wife's complaints and strengthening his heart, Ferdian ended his call. Surabaya was flooded with heavy rain and Ferdian still stood dumbstruck on the edge of the platform. The train was the last to enter Gubeng station.

He enjoyed his coffee, letting the smell of caffeine infiltrate every cell of his brain. Refreshing his dead-end mind. He was in a very confused position and did not know how to do it.

Mia, his wife continues to cry in fear. He was embarrassed to get protests from neighbors and relatives. They got a similar terror Mia, from an online lending institution.

"Mas Ferdi, how come you're not home yet? Want to be with me? It just so happens that this big umbrella can make both." An OTC (train garbage clearance) officer known to Ferdian offered help.

"Eh mas Pras, maturnuwun. I happen to be confused about how to get to Mess."

Ferdian and Prasetyo finally walked together until arriving at the employee's mess. "Mas Ferdi needs what else I will help you do not go out mess again."

"No need to thank you, I will find it easy for myself. I sleep, I want to sleep."

Pras nodded and said goodbye leaving Ferdian still languishing enjoying the silence of the night. The clock showed at one o'clock in the morning, his body was tired, his eyes ached because all day staring at the straight track of the train track He sighed again, and went inside. Wishing he could soon embrace the night in the tranquility of a dream.

Ferdian's phone alarm rang out loud, he only glanced a little while making a tie knot. Let it ring until he finishes smoothing his black tie. Ferdian looked back at his still-on phone. Photos of her and Mia and Agung made her sigh again.

Ferdian did not go deep in his sleep. The shadow of his crying wife, Agung who was lying sick and also the hardship of a debt-ridden thug who had no pity made it difficult to close his eyes calmly. Until he decided to take a bath at dawn. Carry out his duty as a Muslim with two rakaat.

"Mas Ferdi, I don't think I'm awake yet." The assistant driver, who had been with him for two years, greeted him with a friendly smile.

"Aren't you all ready?"

"Monggo in check again mas, I'm afraid there's that forgetfulness." The assistant accompanied Ferdian to double-check. Check the train with other engine engineers before finally declaring it ready.

"Okay, all right,"

Ferdian returned to fill out the travel documents before leaving. Not forgetting to turn off his phone, Ferdian did not want his concentration disturbed during the trip.

The sound of a long whistle was heard again, Ferdian again did the train back to Bandung station. If there is no transverse train will arrive at exactly 23:30 in Bandung.

Arriving at Tasikmalaya station, Ferdian decided to turn on his phone. His heart suddenly broke, his feeling said something happened to Mia, his wife. Ferdian deliberately went into the bathroom so as not to be disturbed by the noise of the engine.

His eyes stared at the photo nanar sent to him, Mia battered in the beat up debt collectors. Many times missed calls came into his phone while on the way. Ferdian's heart crumbled to see his wife drowning in the hospital ward.

Ferdian ventured to contact his family but no one answered.

"Suck!" he hit the ceramic wall hard, blood seeping from his wound.

"Mas Ferdi, Mas Ferdi inside? We're leaving in ten minutes!" yelled Dimas from outside.

Ferdian wiped his tears, "Yes, I'll be out soon!"

Which husband's heart is not broken when he sees a loved one hurt. Mia sent him a message.

[I'm fine, don't worry. Great is good too. Go home soon.]

"Wait for me Mia, I'll be here soon." she muttered softly as she wiped away the tears.

Ferdian returned to the machine room with his hands wrapped in cloth, Dimas who saw the wound was surprised.

"Well, what's the hand?"

"Fall earlier. Um, can you take over Di? My hands hurt."

"Oh yeah I can, Ferdi's sitting down first."

Deftly Dimas took over the wheel while Ferdian sat behind him. His hands were busy typing messages on some of his close acquaintances and relatives. He needs help, at least to pay the basic debt.

Seconds, minutes, hours passed none of the numbers contacted returned the message. They just read without replying. Ferdian is frustrated and doesn't know what to do. So tight his chest that he was no longer able to hold the clear hair in his eyes. Dimas who from the beginning had guessed if Ferdian had problems finally opened his voice.

"Can I help you?"

Ferdian shook his head. Where he might open financial problems to his colleagues. Even though he knew the ribs behind him had begun to circulate. Some of Ferdian's co-workers also get disrespectful terror from debt collectors, and he can't do much to keep his ignorant mouth shut.
