The sound of knocking on the door woke Mia who was asleep on the sofa. He was tired of waiting for the Great who never came home. As a mother she could feel if something happened to her son. All day he was looking for Agung but there was also no finding a bright spot where Agung.
"Who?" Mia opened the curtain, making sure who was coming.
Out there a middle-aged man smiled as he lifted a little of his favorite fedora hat. There are two men who are big enough as a personal bodyguard in Hollywood films.
Mia frowned, she had just this time seen the man. Mia was suspicious but also curious, she opened a little gap in the door.
"Good night, Miss Mia!"
"Night, whose father?"
"Include me, I'm Malik. Can I come in?"
Mia hesitates but eventually she opens the door wide and lets Malik inside.
"Sorry may I know, Mr. Malik who is this?" Mia keeps her distance from Malik, she is uncomfortable with the arrival of an unknown man night-night.
"I'm Mr Thomas' envoy, has the Great returned?"
Mia frowned, "Where did you know Great went? Do you know where he is?"
Malik did not answer, he spread his gaze to every corner of the room. "You comfortable living here?"
Mia's face is grim, lost her husband and now her son is gone, why does she feel her life is no better than it used to be. Allotment but the loss of a loved one is more sad.
"I'm .. I don't know." Mia was silent for a moment then asked revealing her curiosity.
"Areally who is Thomas? Why does my husband work for her, and all this? What do you mean, house, money, savings, great security? Please tell me what exactly is it?"
"I'm sorry but I don't have the capacity to explain that. One thing is for sure Thomas has helped Ferdian and your family."
"Father was right, helping but also taking Ferdi's life. I have not been able to accept this situation, especially now that Agung is gone." Mia suddenly stopped talking, one strange guess just flashed by.
"Did Ferdi make a supernatural covenant? The alms? Pulverize himself and the Great?!" He asked half hysterically.
Malik shook his head, "No, Ferdian didn't do that. Thomas was only a Guard and Ferdian was part of his line of supporters. A courier."
"Courier?" Maya Mia perfectly rounded, "Oh my God, drug courier? I expected!" Her voice trembled
Malik chuckled amusedly, "Of course not, Thomas has nothing to do with it." Malik glanced at his watch, he then continued talking. "Mia's mom should pack up. I was assigned to invite you to your own safety."
"No I don't want to, what if Agung comes home? He'll definitely find me later!" Reject firmly.
"Waiting for you one of my guest houses. You want to come and see him or stay here and die." Malik's choice obviously left Mia confused.
"Dead?"
"In a matter of minutes, some people will come here demanding a reply. They'll ruin this place and worse, kill your mistress!"
Mia shook her head, "What basis do they do it on? What's my fault!"
"You missed today's news, Agung was confirmed in police work for killing his uncle's family." Malik's serious expression signifies that he is not playing.
"False father, there's no way my son would do that! Agung will not dare to kill people, mosquitoes only he did not dare to clap!" Mia's rebut did not accept.
"Couple your stuff right away, we don't have much time! Then his defense!"
Malik's stern voice made Mia dare not argue, she resigned and finally followed Malik to a safer place.
Sure enough about fifteen minutes from the departure of Mia motorized groups seen go hand in hand towards Mia's house. They looked unfriendly and held back anger. Some of them even carry sharp weapons. They shouted asking Mia and Agung to come out. Because there is no law from inside the house, they also rampage. The provoked masses eventually acted anarchically by damaging private property.
Mia was shaken, she did not expect if her home and herself were targeted by the residents. From a distance he could see a black smoke rising from a distance.
"What's really going on?" Mia muttered with wet eyes.
Malik came on time, he fulfilled his promise to Ferdian. She didn't find Agung but at least Mia survived. Malik glanced at Mia who was still sobbing sedan, he took a long breath feeling sad that was hit by a woman his daughter's age.
Malik recalled the incident thirty-five years ago, when he had to deal with a similar case. He failed to rescue a woman charged with murder. Malik came late because his job as a courier was not over. The poor woman had been killed when Malik came, Malik also had to deliver and realize his last wish. That woman was her own best friend, Rossie.
Malik promised not to repeat the same thing, and now he was relieved even though Malik could not save Agung. Then where is Agung, what happened to him?
Malik could not do much and interfere in the affairs of fate. He is not a courier now and the Great is under the watchful eye of the Guard, Thomas.
There was no chatter during the thirty minutes of travel, Mia continued to cry lamenting her unfortunate fate. He misses Ferdian is also Great, if time can turn again Mia willing to be blasphemed, cursed, even battered by the debt collector from her husband and son are together.
Malik takes Mia to his resting house. Luxury house in the suburbs.
"From now on, you're in my protection. Rest, we'll talk again tomorrow."
"Sir Malik, can I meet Agung?"
Malik sighed and smiled, "Come, just wish him all the best."
Mia was disappointed, she had hoped to meet Agung at Malik's house but hope was only hope. He sat down beside the bed lamenting the fate that befell his little family.
"Good, what's going on? Mom is not sure you did. This must be a lie, right?"

A series of thirteen carriages, stopping at a station. Thomas got down from one of the carriages, tidying up the white coat he was wearing. He stepped steadily with the help of a unique carved stick.
In the middle of the platform he stopped, staring back at the series of carriages that were still in place.
"It's time you guys had a new Guard."
Thomas' smile adorned his youthful face. His memory goes back to the early election of Thomas as a guard. He was very young at that time, until finally decided on a case that made him selected as 'The Great Keeper'.
In 1634, Thomas was first assigned to Leonard, his previous guard. It used to be not a train used but a chariot drawn by thirteen stealth horses. When the human world came to know the first steam train in 1804, horse carriages were replaced with steam wagons.
"Nearly four centuries have I spent with you, and now my time has come. I want to take a vacation, fish, camp and have a little fun before fulfilling the invitation of fate."
"You sure you're gonna do this Thomas?" Louise appeared next to him as usual.
Thomas smiled happily, "Sure, I've lived Louise too long. I'm tired and once in a lifetime, I want to relax a little. Watching the spirits, recruiting couriers, giving missions," Thomas paused giving his old lungs a chance to fill the air for a moment.
"It ... was exhausting."
"I'm gonna miss you, old man?" Louise interrupted.
Thomas chuckled, again taking a breath. "I'm so old, Louise. Quite a lot of people see the life cycle on this earth."
"Why didn't you pick Malik? He's also the best courier."
"Mallik? Hhmm, if he had done nothing wrong and meddled in destiny I would have chosen him. The only fatal mistake he made was to love Rossie and intend to revive her. He even broke the rules of the underworld. He should have been punished more severely, but I can't bear it."
"At least now he regretted it."
"You're right. Every mistake will be a valuable lesson."
"Then, how now? We start the election?"
"Yes please, but ... Where's John? He will play a big role later. Did he miss the night of the inauguration?"
Louise smiled sweetly and pointed in one direction, "How could she have missed out on Thom tonight, look at him. Oh my, prepare your ears old man!"
"Thomaaaas, jej! Why also retire! FYI (For Your Information) akika sampeee looking into the ghost hole to find this stuff!" John's annoyed face was clearly visible when he handed Thomas the golden gift box.
"Wow, gifts? Thanks John and Janny there!"
John fanned his face with his hands, holding back tears. His lips trembled and his eyes began to condense.
"Huuuaa .. it's not fair, why Thom, why! Don't stop to be Keeper please!"
"I have been so long to be a Keeper, John. You know that."
John could not help but embrace the novelty he tightly embraced Thomas making Louise also shed tears.
"Stop it John, you're messing with my eyeliner."
"Who!"
