I made it out of Jun's company building. Not alone, I was with some servants who had panicked by stepping half-run. Not the main door, I chose to exit through the side door which then penetrated into the parking lot.
Behind the hat I was wearing I glanced around mostly staring in wonder at the building where people were running out.
I immediately headed to the side of the road and waved my hand. Not long after that I got a taxi. I breathed a sigh of relief in escaping.
Instead of heading to Nami's house, I prefer to go to NH Group, because I'm sure she's there to work. I was just about to get out of the cab, before seeing Nami get out the main door and get in the car.
I immediately asked the taxi driver to follow the car driven by Nami. The journey takes about half an hour. It's a long way from downtown New York.
Nami's car stopped at an area around the East River, Socrates Sculpture Park. I got out of the taxi and followed Nami silently from behind.
Compared to Central Park to meet someone, why Nami instead choose a place that even only has a pair of elderly people sitting enjoying the view of the East River.
"Mommy!"
My steps came to a halt as soon as a boy ran towards Nami who was already crouching, as if preparing to receive a hug from the child.
The child is not alone. She was accompanied by a woman wearing a babysitter-like dress.
"Olen, kangen?" nami said I can still hear.
I stepped closer and sat under a lush tree that was about three meters from where they were. My body sits on the grass facing backwards.
"Yes, why so long?"
I had a glimpse earlier that the boy had a mixed face of a Caucasian. Unmistakably, light brown hair with big eyes and pale white skin signifies that he is not a whole Asian.
"Mommy's been busy for a few days. What are you going to eat today?" nami asked making my chest rumble as she called out the word mommy.
Is it possible that the boy is Nami's son?
But as far as I know Nami is not married....
And what I learned from the diary in Rose 408 locker is that Nami is a same-sex person.
What's the matter?
"Olen wants to eat a hamburger, huh? huh uh? Today alone," said Olen, sounding whining.
I turned my head a few degrees with the tip of my eye able to glance at Nami being stroking Olen's head affectionately.
Woefully my eyes met Olen's eyes, making the boy point at me.
Nami who had been facing Olen now turned towards me and as I thought, Nami's face was so shocked not to play. He even stood up and looked at me.
I stood up and walked closer to them. My eyes looked at Olen who was now twitching at me in confusion.
"How did you get here?" nami asked coldly. It was obvious that he did not accept my arrival.
"Who is Mommy?"
"I wanted to see you at the company, but you got in the car and followed you up here" I replied honestly.
"What's wrong?" nami asked ignoring Olen's question.
"You'd better get him to eat a hamburger first," I said, seeing sweat drenching Olen's temple.
However I understood that the boy must have waited long enough and was now hungry and thirsty.
"Olen, you go first with Merry," said Nami, possibly naming Olen's nanny Merry.
Olen hugged Nami's thigh. "No! She wants to be the same Mommy."
Nami gulped then glanced at me. His eyes closed once and then looked back at me seriously.
"We're talking somewhere else."
Nami took me to a fast food restaurant that had the main menu, the burger. Not a fancy restaurant, but a warabala that is widely spread throughout New York even in other parts of the world.
After Nami briefly accompanied Olen to a meal, she walked to my desk by the window.
Quite kind, Nami even ordered me to drink chocolate flavored float.
"Is he your son?" ask me after tasting a chocolate-flavored drink that eases the thirst in my throat.
Nami did not answer. He even sneered and smiled sideways. "Why among all people should you?"
"You think I'm gonna do that?" nami raised her eyebrows next to her.
I smile. "Of course not. I'm your stepbrother you're so. .. less fond, especially if you obviously have no blood relation."
"I don't like you because you're my half-sister" Nami turned her eyes away.
"Wait, as far as I'm concerned ..," I stopped and turned to look at Olen who was playing with miniature superheroes.
"It's about seven years, isn't it?" I looked at Nami.
"Eight years next month," Nami's correction.
If Olen is almost eight years old, while the diary I found was four years ago when Hana's body began to coma means there is a span of three years or less.
I curse my memory of forgetting what date Hana wrote that Nami was a same-sex lover.
"You lied about your sexual orientation?" ask slowly.
Nami remained silent. The cold and haughty look on his face then changed a little muffled even he avoided eye contact with me and chose to stare out the window.
"You know it from Dad, don't you? The day you found out about it and then planned to attend a shareholder meeting four years ago" Nami said.
Means Hana found out about it four years ago. But the reason is not strong enough to make a Hana fight Nami in the fight for the position of CEO, especially considering that time Hana was busy with the disappearance of Hansung who ended up committing suicide.
"Olen is my real son. My father was against my relationship with a British man who ended up in the destruction of the man's business and then chose to commit suicide" Nami said to my surprise.
Nami's eyes began to look like they were remembering the past. "When you decide to commit suicide, I think it's a payback for Dad's treatment first."
"But I survived" I said.
Nami smiled, but not the same kind of smile as before. I can say a little sincere.
"I think God still wants you to live for a reason" Nami replied.
Right, God let Hana live and then exchanged lives with me. Wh why?
"Did you know about Olen?" tanyaku squinted.
Nami nodded without hesitation. "After I gave birth to Olen, she immediately took him to an orphanage in a remote town in a part of Nevada. I secretly traded Olen for another baby and hid him until now."
"Why should you be in New York? Aren't you going to be easy to track down," I said confusedly.
"Keep your friends close and your enemies close. It would be even more suspicious if I went abroad often just to see Olen," Nami replied to me.
After all if Nami wanders around New York then it will not attract the attention of Kim Yunsung who considers it commonplace.
"After I managed to get Olen, I started planning to look like a same-sex person and reject any matchmaking" Nami said. So entirely Kim Yunsung did not lie to me, but he was only fooled by Nami's charade.
Hana didn't know all this time. If it was less than eight years ago he could have been busy in college.
"Then why did you tell me about your biggest secret?" ask me on a crucial point, where Nami instead had to lie considering I was his opponent in fighting over the position of CEO.
"Tell me first you mean to come here" Nami said, asking.
"I need your help to go to Korea next week. I want Dad and Jun not to watch over me" I said honestly.
Nami reviewed the smile. "I think the universe really works. I have a trusted partner in Korea, he will help you while there. I don't care about your business in Korea."
"Then you're alone?"
"I certainly want Olen to stay a secret from anyone, including Jun. And ... I want you to take Olen away with you to Korea," Nami said.
"What?"
Nami then showed me a message that went into her phone.
Kim Yunsung: Is Hana with you? Jun said, he disappeared from his company.
"I think your business is important enough that you should secretly ask for my help," Nami said back with a slanted smile.
"And I think my business was helped by Olen's presence" I smiled back.
