"Hey, Nis!" A voice greeted me as I walked towards the campus gate, late afternoon.
"The vito?" Sapaku to the owner of the voice that greeted me, a man of tall stature, thin, sweet face, and cheerful voice.
I just got to know him on this first day of orientation. He is Vito, a medical student.
"Where are you going?" Vito asked as he walked beside me.
"I want to go around here and keep coming home. Why?" My toot.
"Round around? I can't come? I also want to know the area around campus." Bring along.
"May I be. But I'm traveling around wanting to do part-time work. Not looking for a hangout."
"Work part time?"
"Yes. You know I'm a scholarship boy. I want to go to work so that every day I can snack, can eat, buy daily necessities." My light.
"Every semester, we'll have pocket money, too, Nis." Vito. He knows that because he is like me, he is on this campus because of a scholarship. "Keep saying you live in aunt lo's house. What about part time too?"
"Yes you are good even though you are given pocket money from scholarships, your parents also send money to you every month. If I don't. My mother has no cost to me everyday living in Jakarta."
"It turns out you're poorer than me?" Mumbled.
"Well... Maybe I'm the poorest in the department." My heart doesn't mind being said to be poor by this new friend of mine.
"Handering, Nis. You're very serious."
"Nyantei just a few times. That's really the reality. And no problem for me either. Poor is not a disgrace until it has to be covered up."
We arrived in front of our magnificent campus. "Yes, I'm first." My word.
"Stay, Nis. Lo wait. I'm gonna call someone." Vito pulled out his phone and called someone.
"Hello, Om? It's in the cafe, right? ... The vacancy was still there?" I was intrigued by Vito's chat with someone on his phone.
Is he looking for me a job? Vito then turned off his phone.
"Nis, I was just like my om. He's got a cafe deket here. Bittersweet Cafe, you know? Yesterday he proposed I do part time work there. But I refuse. What if you take the offer?"
"Seriously, Vit? Want to! I want to!" Without a second thought I agreed.
"Just a minute. You must know first his shift, salary, and others. Don't go straight for it."
I chuckle. Right too, what if the salary is small and the work is heavy?
"Yes, I'm there now. Thanks, Vit!" I immediately ran towards a street next to my campus, which I knew where the cafe was. I got through it this morning, and it's not far from campus.
"Noise! Don't you want me to go?" Vito shouted as I was already a bit away from him.
I turned around at a glance, "No, I know where it is. Thanks a lot Vit!" I waved at him and ran back.
I was so excited. Until I got to the cafe. I met the owner of the cafe, Om Tanoe, and after the interview, I was accepted. I can start working tomorrow.
I am so glad I have a job now. The one thing that stuck was finally resolved. It's all thanks to Vito. I have to give her something later.
The salary is good and I work in the afternoon shift, around two noon to five in the afternoon, every day including weekends. It was a while, but the salary was good. Actually I can apply for work until the cafe closes at ten o'clock, the salary is also greater. But I promised Om Rey that every day I would cook for her and Aunt Manda.
After that I went back home. When we arrived, Om Rey's car was parked in the carport, which indicates Om Rey was already at home.
I looked at my phone, still at three in the afternoon.
When I entered the house, Om Rey just came out of her room.
"Well, you're home, Dan?" Sumringah's face.
"Udah, Om. So, how come home yourself?" My gaze was fixed on his appearance who was now wearing more casual clothes.
"It just so happens that Om's work is not too much anymore. So Om is home. Yes, you are changing. We're shopping for the ingredients from now on so it's not too late."
I also according. I took a shower and changed clothes and after a while we were in a supermarket in a mall.
Om Rey picked up a trolley, "Now buy whatever you need to cook for a week."
"Including vegetables, Om?"
"Yes. Everything."
"But vegetables are cheaper to buy at the market, Om."
"It's okay here. Buy whatever you need."
We reached the place of fruits and vegetables, "Om like what fruit?"
"Whatever Om likes." The Sahut Om Rey.
"Then we buy some macems." I started putting some apples in the plastic. "Om Rey should eat fruit every day to be healthy. Om' will continue to work, sometimes until staying up late, so nutritional intake must be met. Let's not get sick easily."
I continued to chatter while putting various fruits into the plastic. Regarding nutrition in foodstuffs of course I have mastered it very much.
"In fact, Om likes to live a healthy lifestyle. Exercise and eating are also watchful. Usually Om likes to buy healthy food in online applications."
"Catering isn't it, Om?"
"Yes. Every day they take lunch to the office. Also sometimes dinner is also Om pesen from there."
"That's a shame, Om. Catering is expensive."
"Yes, that's fine. Can you make food for Om every day? Let's not order any more catering."
"Can dong, Om. I love lunch every day too. Let's frugal. Yes Om from now on do not need to subscribe to catering anymore. Let me make Om stock every day." My spirit.
"So seriously not bothered?"
"Absolutely not dong, Om. Even I can help you." Sincerely.
Then after the trolley filled with various kinds of groceries, Om Rey and I returned to the parking lot.
When he was about to enter Om Rey's car, he locked his car. "And, Om laper. You're not laper?" Om Rey approached me.
"Lumayan anyway, Om. Yes, we're going home soon, Om. Let me cook for dinner."
Om Rey was silent for a moment. "If we eat at a restaurant in this mall how?"
