Why Should I?

Nando flipped through the envelope Ilona had given him. Nando was still hesitant to use the contents of the envelope.

"Oh my God, what should I do? On the one hand, I don't want to do something that will harm others anymore. But on the other hand, I really need this money," muttered Nando still continuing to stare at the thick, brown envelope.

Nando remembered Gintani's kindness and sincerity. It seemed that he did not have to go back to inflicting wounds on the woman. Nah! How could I possibly hurt him again, inner Nando. Nando kept the envelope back in his desk drawer.

Nando lit a cigarette and smoked it. For now, only smoking can calm his heart and mind.

"How's he doing, Doc?" argha asked as soon as he saw the doctor who examined Ilona out of the ER room.

"Don't worry, he's fine. Soon the patient will be transferred to the treatment room" replied the beautiful doctor.

"Thank God. Thank you, Doc," said Argha.

"Either. Then, excuse me first," said the beautiful doctor.

Shortly after, Argha saw some nurses pushing a gurney over which he saw Ilona lying weak. Argha followed them. Arriving at the ward, the nurses immediately moved Ilona into the bed.

"Thank you, Sus," Argha told the two nurses.

"Together, sir," replied one of the nurses. "It's a cure for patients. Please give it after two hours from now."

Argha took the drugs.

"alright, Sir. Then we say goodbye first. Excuse me!" said the two nurses.

Argha nodded his head. After the two nurses came out, he again approached Ilona who was lying down.

"How are you doing?" ask Argha.

"It seems, all of Ilona's bones are crumbling. Very tired, brother," replied Ilona.

"Patience!" argha said as he rubbed the head of Ilona.

"Sister, it seems like my death is approaching" said Ilona looking at Argha.

"Huss! Don't talk like that! Brother is sure you can be cured. Brother will find the best doctor to cure your illness." Argha tried to encourage Ilona who seemed to be giving up on the situation.

"Sister, I'm so scared." Ilona wakes up and hugs Argha. He then cried in Argha's arms. Unbeknownst to them, doctors Richard and Gintani have been standing on the doorstep of Ilona's nursery.

"Hm...!" Doctor Richard cleared his throat.

Argha turned his body. He was very surprised to see Gintani standing next to doctor Richard with a look full of disappointment.

"Gin, I-I can explain everything," said Argha looking at his wife.

"There's nothing to explain, Mom. Thank goodness she's okay. Then, Gintan goes home first," replied Gintani as she passed away from the room where Ilona was being treated.

"Gin, wait!" shout Argha.

"Sister!"

Argha was about to stand up to pursue Gintani. But Ilona held Argha's hand firmly.

"Don't leave me alone, please!" said Ilona, weld.

Tap-tap-tap

Gintani continued running regardless of anyone around him. The sneakers that collided with the floor accompanied Gintani's steps. Arriving in front of the hospital, Gintani immediately stopped a taxi.

"Lake Nirmala, sir!" gintani told the taxi driver.

The driver nodded. A moment later, he drove the car to the place said by his passengers.

Gintani was only able to squeeze his chest that hurt. Jealousy and disappointment had coalesced into a sense he could not express. His heart raced quickly as it held back the emotions he was unable to overflow. I want to scream, I want to cry. But the tongue feels mute, even tears seem dry. Until only an empty space that increasingly feels real he feels.

Suddenly, Gintani remembered her grandfather. Grandfather who always encouraged him when his heart was in mourning.

"Grandfather, Gintan misses grandfather," he murmured bitterly.

"It's over, Non." The voice of the driver broke Gintani's daydream.

"Oh, yes sir," replied Gintani.

Gintani reached into his bag to retrieve the wallet. After paying the fare, he went out and swung his way to Nirmala Lake. An artificial lake located on the edge of a metropolitan city.

Gintani landed his butt in one of the long chairs reserved for the visitors. His eyes stared blankly at the expanse of water that looked so blue. Very soothing to the eyes.

Gintani took a deep breath, then threw it away slowly. He tried to reset his heart rhythm. He tried to master the emotions that were hunting in his heart. Slowly, Gintani rubbed his chest. Trying to ease the rumbling that was churning there.

Gintani pulled his phone out of his pocket. His finger rubbed the phone screen. With agile fingers it rolled one by one the photos that were clearly displayed in the gallery. A picture of her with her husband. The photos they deliberately took to capture every memory they had created. Photos that they will proudly tell for their grandchildren later. But, what do these photos still mean when Gintani finds out that Argha's heart has been divided?

Gintani raised his face. Black clouds began to roll in the vast expanse of the sky. Gintani stood up immediately. For a long time, he was pondering and clearing his mind. Slowly he began to walk down the path on the shores of Lake Nirmala.

Gintani stopped his steps. Both of his hands were holding the lake barrier made of bamboo. Gintani again raised his face while closing his eyes to feel the raindrops that began to fall. Cool, that was all he felt as the beginning of water coming down to earth.

Cold water spots hit the face of Gintani who looks very tired. A faint smile expanded on her tiny lips as Gintani felt the breeze of the wind. The rain drops began to turn into a fairly large circle. Until unknowingly the clothes worn by Gintani began to get wet.

Rainwater is getting bigger. As hard as his mind that can never digest and understand the attitude of the husband.

"Why should I? Why should I continue to understand him? Why should I continue to understand her situation? Why should I keep giving up? Why God??"

Gintani shouted in the rumble of rainwater. The heart that had been laid out earlier, was again shattered. Tears that had not wanted to come out, now flowed along with the rain that was getting thicker.

Brugh!

Gintani dropped his body. Sitting by the lake while holding both knees. His body continued to shake, spilling a sense of tightness through the cries. I hope this will relieve her feelings a little. Hope this cry can slightly reduce the burden. Hope this rain can take away all his disappointments.

"Take me, Lord. Strengthen me." Only that came out of Gintani's tiny mouth that was starting to look blue.

Seriate....
