The Hill of Memories

Argha kept driving his vehicle. He stopped at several places to buy something as a handpiece for his grandparents. By midnight, she had just arrived at her grandmother's house.

"Assalamu'alaikum!" greet Argha.

Nin Ifah immediately opened the door. Many times he rubbed his eyes that had become myopic due to age.

"A-Adi? Are you Adi Enin's grandson?" ask Nin Ifah.

Argha nodded, a second later he hugged an old woman who was none other than his grandmother.

"How are you, Nin?" greet Argha.

"Masiah Allah ... Adi, Nin is glad you came. Thank God, good news, son. You alone, how?" ask Nin Ifah.

"Adi is also good, Nin," replied Argha.

"Ah, thank goodness .. Come on in, son!" Nin Ifah invited his granddaughter to come inside.

Argha nodded, still straining his embrace, they then went inside the house.

"Who's coming, Ambu?" ask Aki Surya.

"It's Bah, our grandson is coming" replied Nin Ifah with great joy.

Aki Surya came out from his room.

"Alhamdulillah, Adi .. you finally remember us too," said Aki Surya.

"Yes, Aki. Forgive Adi, Ki. Adi is not a good grandchild" replied Argha.

"It's okay, son. Aki knows you are very busy, therefore you never have time to visit us," said Aki Surya.

"Don't talk like that, Ki. Adi was embarrassed" said Argha.

"Hahaha, let's sit down!" bring Aki Surya.

"Eeh, Abah .. tomorrow or so, have a chat. It's night, let Adi rest. He must be tired, after traveling here," said Nin Ifah.

"Ah, yes.. Ambu's right. Well, get some rest in your room, kid!" Aki Surya patted Argha on the shoulder and told him to rest.

"Good, Ki. Then, Adi pamit first, yes Nin, Aki. Adi's going to the room" said Argha.

"Yes already, you ass!" replied Aki Surya who was accompanied by a nod from Nin Ifah.

The next day, Gintani wakes up as soon as he hears a cock crowing. He immediately went to the bathroom to get water.

Brrr...

Gintani shuddered as he felt the coldness of the mountain water. Malaganti was also a plateau, but the water was not as cold as what she was feeling right now.

After the ablution, Gintani returned to his room to perform the dawn prayer. After which, he opened the room window and let the fresh air of the mountains enter his room.

Gintani stood up as he breathed powerfully in the fresh, soothing air. Suddenly, his eyes locked onto a large tree on top of a hill not far from this orphanage.

Gintani felt the scene was never unfamiliar in his memory. "That tree .. I seem to have seen that tree. But where is it?" gintani.

.

.

.

The sun began to appear from behind the hill. The shadow of the acacia tree that was once faint, is now increasingly clear. As Gintani tries to remember the familiar sight, suddenly the door to her room is knocked.

"Who?" ask Gintani.

"This is Ima, sister," replied someone behind the door.

Gintani steps up to open the door.

"What's up, Deck?" gintani asked as soon as the door opened.

"Sister Gintan was called Bu Ningsih for breakfast together" Ima replied.

"Alright, come!" Gintani closed the door to her room. After that he walked following Ima towards the dining room.

"Good morning, Na!" greet Bu Ningsih.

"Morning, Mom!" answer Gintani.

"How did you sleep? Wakeless?" ask Bu Ningsih.

"Alhamdulillah, ma'am ... very sound," replied Gintani.

"Yes, let's have breakfast!" bring Bu Ningsih.

Gintani. He sat down with the other children for breakfast.

After breakfast, Gintani returns to Bu Ningsih's study. He was still very curious about his past stories.

"It looks like you did have amnesia, Na. That's why you don't remember a single incident that happened to you in this orphanage" said Ms. Ningsih.

"Maybe, Mom. But, somehow grandfather never told Gintan that Gintan had forgotten memories," said Gintani.

"Maybe your grandfather does not want you to feel anxious, and in the end you think about what you are suffering from," said Bu Ningsih again while cleaning up the books in the back of his chair.

"Yes, Mom. Maybe that's how it happened" replied Gintani.

Bu Ningsih sighed. "Have, don't push yourself too hard to remember your childhood. Later, you can get a headache if you keep thinking about it." Bu Ningsih gave advice to Gintani.

Gintani.

"Oh yes, Mom. Behind the room, Gintan sees a hill and a huge tree. Actually Gintan does not know what hill it is. But, for some reason Gintan felt, the hills and trees were never foreign to Gintan," said Gintani.

"The chantika? Who's Chantika, Mom?" ask Gintani.

"Chantika, her granddaughter, was the mother of Ati, the owner of this home," replied Ms. Ningsih

"Is he still here?" ask Gintani again.

"No, he's back in Jakarta. At that time, his uncle who took care of Chantika," replied Bu Ningsih.

"Oh." That's all that came out of Gintani's mouth. "Mom, it's noon, Gintan's permission to go to that hill, okay?" ask Gintani.

"Are you strong, Na? The road is pretty steep!" Ms. Ningsih asked back.

"God willing, ma'am" replied Gintani.

"Yes already, later let it be accompanied by Ima," suggested Bu Ningsih.

"No need ma'am, Gintan can be alone" Gintani refused.

Ms. Ningsih smiled, "Alright, it's up to you."

Meanwhile, in a different place, it looks like Heru is packing food ingredients that will be sent to the Mutiara Bunda orphanage.

"Do you want me to go, Her?" ask Alex to approach Heru.

"No, Lex. Today fresh fish delivery will come, you take care of it as usual," replied Heru.

"OK," said Alex.

After packing the food, Heru told his employees to put the food in the box car.

"I'm going, yeah, Lex!" pamit Heru after all the food is ready to be delivered.

Alex just nodded and waved his hand.

Elsewhere, Argha bailed to Aki Surya for a walk around the countryside. It was Argha's favorite activity to be at his grandparents' house.

Actually Nin Ifah and Aki Surya were eager to ask about her granddaughter's divorce. However, his daughter-in-law, none other than Mr. Jaya, advised them not to talk about the divorce before Argha.

"Where are you going, Adi?" nin Ifah asked as he watched Argha pull his bike out of the garage.

"Custom, Nin ... take a walk," replied Argha.

"Yes, be careful .." continued Nin Ifah.

"Ready, Nin!"

Argha warms up the motor for a bit. Ten minutes later, he drove the two-wheeled vehicle across the path leading to the hill full of memories.

With great effort, Gintani finally arrived at the hill. He saw an acacia tree that caught his attention from dawn.

"Come here, Na!"

"Where are we going, brother?"

"Just come along!"

The two children approached the acacia tree. The little man pulled out a folding knife from inside his pants pocket.

"What will you do?"

"So, I'm going to write our names here. A minute!"

The little man started carving letter after letter on the trunk of the acacia tree. After a few minutes passed, he smiled with satisfaction as the letters were arranged into a whole sentence.

"Can you read?"

The little girl shook her head.

The little man smiled. "This is his writing, A-D-I-N-A stands for Adi and Na. Forever that, forever. So ADINA forever means Adi and Na forever. Do you understand?"

The little girl nodded.

"Son, aren't we going to be apart forever?" ask the little girl innocently.

The little man stared intently at his little girl. A moment later, both of his hands held the princess's small shoulders. Cup, a brief kiss he lay on the girl's forehead.

You are Prince Adi's daughter. One day, when you are an adult. We're going back to this place. That's where Kak Adi will take you away to be Kak Adi's bride."

Although he did not know the meaning, the little boy cheered happily.

"When did I grow up and become Brother's bride?"

The little man revealed his two right fingers and three left fingers.

"Two-three?" The little girl mentioned the numbers

"Yes, if you're 23 years old, your brother will marry you.

Yeayy....

They laughed and ran around the tree.

Seriate...
