Selene regained consciousness after a while through intensive care in Roselia's study.
What he remembered was just the feeling of being immersed in an ocean that seemed to have no basis. A memory that seemed to have lasted for weeks when He was unconscious.
Roselia described the phenomenon as one of the side effects of damage to her soul core. For the record, Roselia had slightly reunited Selene's soul core before. But if it were to happen again, he might actually die.
"Remember, I know your magic is really great to be able to connect Mana between 2 people. I admit that. But this is what causes the union of magicians to prohibit body modification with magic.
Still lucky enough Selene was just unconscious. Even losing his life. But if it was unlucky enough, maybe that person would go berserk and slaughter anything around him. Just like what happened to one of the great witches 142 years ago." Clearly Roselia was pointing her pen at Leo.
Leo was silent. He understood that all this was his fault. But at least, Selene has survived. What he needed to do was to control his Mana expenditure that Selene had now connected to.
Meanwhile, Selene continues to try to defend Leo despite the terrible events that have happened to her.
"I did this on my own consciousness. It's not Mr. Leo's fault."
"No matter what, Leo could have caused a great disaster if I hadn't stemmed your Mana damage." Reply Roselia briefly.
After a while, the situation began to cool down along with cutting down the snow outside this room.
Roselia was seen looking out the window for a moment with a faint look that she rarely showed.
"Leo, I think you've been too good to keep studying as a lower-level academic." Roselia said suddenly, looking at the glass window.
"What do you mean?" Leo asked in confusion.
'Clingg!!'
Roselia is seen throwing two badges at Leo. The badge had the emblem of the Aselica academy in a beautiful bronze color.
"I never said it, but the head of the academy treated me quite special because of my talent or something like that. One of them, I can approve you anytime I want. And this is the time." Reply Roselia still did not look at Leo and Selene who was sitting in front of him.
Leo quickly catches the point of Roselia's actions.
"You're kicking us out?" Ask Leo.
"It's bad you said that after I saved you from the clutches of that boring witch council. All I do is approve you.
With that badge, you can enter into the three major academies in this entire kingdom easily. Access to all their knowledge.
It's just.... Please leave me alone for some time." Clearly Roselia at length remained not a single glance towards Leo and Selene.
His right hand was seen propping up his chin which was now looking towards the window beside him. While his left hand is placed on his left thigh which is crossed on his right thigh.
His appearance which was usually filled with cheerful attitude and curiosity, now seemed to disappear completely. It shows the cold figure of a woman.
Leo was silent.
He did not dare to touch the bronze badge that Roselia had thrown.
After all, this was not the way of graduation that he wanted. As if he was being driven away like a stranger.
Similarly, Selene who can only stare at the floor with eyes that begin to glaze over.
He took all his luggage and immediately left this room as Roselia requested.
Selene herself could only follow him. But just before stepping out through that door, Selene turned her body and paid her respects to Roselia.
He bows his body while saying.
"Miss Roselia, thank you for the lessons you've taught me over the years. We, at least I am very grateful for everything. And one day, I'll pay for all your good."
After that, he immediately closed the door of the room and ran lightly to follow Leo's steps.
Leaving Roselia alone in the room. Now he looked at the two bronze badges left behind by his two disciples.
Roselia was seen looking at the two badges lying on the floor before looking back in the distance through the glass window.
He raised his left hand with the help of his right hand, then opened the leather glove that covered his left hand.
What was behind it, was a skin that began to blacken with some dark purplish patches.
The wound was a bit like what Reina had suffered. With a slight difference that the wound experienced by Roselia is much more severe and covers the entire left hand to under her elbow.
'Kraak!'
Some of his skin looks a little flaky and fell off. What is there is no longer like human skin. Rather it resembles a hard and fragile mineral at the same time.
"I don't think you can pay compensation for this." Roselia said to herself with a faint smile.
Quickly, he took out a small knife and enveloped it with magic energy. He cut off his left arm quickly.
'Bruuck! Arakk!'
His fallen left arm, now broke into hundreds of pieces like a rock that fell from a height.
Despite the bleeding hands, Roselia remained calm and healed him immediately. At least, stop the bleeding that occurred in his left arm.
"Damn it.... It seems that humans are not allowed to play with the core of others' souls." Roselia said to herself.
What happened to him was purely a curse. The curse happened because he tried to reach a realm that was far beyond his ability by force.
The soul of a person himself. In an attempt to prevent Selene's death and Mana's uncontrollability.
One of the greatest events in the history of witches, is the loss of control of Mana belonging to one of the great witches. As a result, he is overcome by one last emotion, namely anger to destroy the surrounding environment.
Even if his Mana core had dried up, He could have sucked up all of the Mana around him. Just like a dry sponge that sucks up a lot of water.
And all of that happened because of his own experiments on magic. Roselia tried her hardest to prevent that from happening.
As payment for Selene's treatment, Roselia was prepared to lose some of her limbs. But still, he never expected that the price would be this expensive.
"I think I need to learn more about the soul. Ah, I think I need to make mechanical hands. Did Gill come in today? Maybe he can help me make it." Said Roselia as she immediately stood up and walked out of her room.
His left hand, which had previously shed blood profusely, had now closed completely. Although.... He lost his left arm.
