E - Rank Hero In Another World
Chapter 95 - The Assault

...- Demon Region -

...

In a forest next to the wide but shallow river, about 3,000 soldiers were hiding in it.

About 500 of them are close-quarters soldiers with spear guns and shields. The remaining 2,500 soldiers were archers.

Everyone is waiting in silence. Look at the line of Devils who walked through the river.

"It's still not in range. Just a minute." Said Feris to the commander next to him. He is seen raising his right hand, signaling for the troops to remain silent.

A few moments passed.

And right after most of those demon legions entered the river....

'Saturray!'

Feris swung his arm down. Signing all archers to shoot. Simultaneously, thousands of arrows shot out rapidly, piercing through the leaves in the forest and aiming right at the demon legion.

In an instant, most of all the arrows were stuck in the severe bodies of Devils. A small portion of the affected on their vital body parts were seen starting to lie down. While the Demon commanders seemed to panic over what really happened.

"Varas dur? Goshak rug varas!" Shouted the Demon commander with a language that was completely incomprehensible to humans.

But all the demon armies understood him and immediately raised their wooden shields upwards.

'Shyuuuttt!!!'

The second wave of the arrow shot had shot out and was heading towards the same line.

But this time, the Devils were ready and most of them were able to hold it back with those wooden shields.

'Jleeb! Klukk! Creteakk!'

The sound of arrows sticking into the wooden shield sounded quite deafening. Some shields appear to receive too many strikes to break.

While some others do not even seem to receive a single arrow.

From within the forest, Feris was still silent. Trying to sort out from the entire demon, looking for a figure that could be said to be the main leader.

'Clearly, their race is too diverse to be difficult to distinguish between subordinates and superiors.' Feris complained in his heart as he continued to look towards the demonic army line that was still hundreds of meters away.

It was true that these demon legions were composed of various races. In the front row, a goblin with a small body and a bad weapon ran down the river quite easily.

On the other hand, the wolf with a body that was as tall as a human was also galloping while being ridden by an Orc.

Not only that, monsters with a body as high as 6 meters were seen walking slowly. His body seemed to be filled with chains while on the part of his head, the figure of a small-bodied demon looked as if he was controlling it like a horse.

Finding the leader of this legion in such a situation was impossible. Even with Ferris's vision.

Hence....

At present....

"Miss Ferris, we're gonna run out of arrows in about 8 more shots." Said the commander next to him.

Feris, who was busy with himself, began to return to the real world.

"No problem. Continue but leave 1 arrow and we'll move on to the next stage." Reply Feris briefly with a face that looks a little upset.

"Okay, Miss Ferris." Reply to the commander who immediately gave the order to several other captains who were currently with him.

'Syyyuuutt!! Shuttt!!'

The Ferris army continuously shot arrows from behind the forest protection towards the demons in the open. With no protection other than a shield on their left hand.

And now, after exactly 29 shots of arrows, Feris immediately shouted with all his might.

"Everything! Back off as soon as possible! Spear division! Don't forget what you have to do!"

Feris and several other commanders were seen starting to ride their horses.

His screaming voice was then repeated by several captains from each division who heard it. Not long after, the troops under the commander of Ferris immediately ran backwards.

The Devils who saw them quickly chased after him. Knowing that their numbers are far superior.

'Sruuugg! Oruugg!'

The chase that took place inside this forest was quite terrifying. On the front row, Feris and the commanders and archer divisions had been running at their best.

While the spear division was still at the back. They appear to spread a powder with a yellowish color in various places. Even the numbers are so many.

But because of that, their movements became a little slow. They were now being overtaken by the wolf-riding Orcs who slaughtered them one by one with their huge axes.

"No!"

"Commander!"

"Whoever help me!"

Feris who was at the frontline started to notice the chaos that was happening behind him.

In other words, a spear.

But nevertheless....

'Currently, the troops from outside the fort have always been like this.' Thought Feris in his heart.

What he meant by that was the fact that they had a weak mentality and panic easily.

In fact, if they saw that line of wolf riders coming, they could form a spear formation and prevent those wolves from breaking through their defenses.

Moreover, within this fairly dense forest, the rider army was slightly more disadvantaged due to the bad terrain.

Even Feris himself had told them about the strategy.

It's just....

When the mentality has weakened and panic has taken hold, the new troops will not be able to react as expected.

All that happened there was a massacre with most of the soldiers running away from fear. Leaving his partner where it further messed up their ranks.

"You continue with the plan. I'll keep him here." Said Feris who immediately stopped and got off his horse.

"But Miss Feris! That's too...."

"Then 3 people stay here and help me. The rest continue with the plan." Reply Feris cut off the commander's words.

Without the slightest hesitation, the commander and his two subordinates immediately got off his horse and decided to stay. Resisting that demon attack with Feris.

"All of you! Listen to Miss Feris's orders! Right after you are in position, immediately fire your last arrow with fire!" Shouted the commander.

Several captains were seen nodding their heads and spreading that information around him.

And now....

Feris was seen standing quietly in this vast meadow. Stand together with 3 men with thick iron armor. He was still wearing his usual uniform.

In the distance, precisely in the outermost part of the forest, seen dozens of soldiers running in fear. They were even seen to have thrown away their weapons and could no longer survive the slaughter of the wolf-rider Orcs.

With the swing of that huge axe, the Orcs of horsemen could easily behead the soldier.

"A really bad view." Said the commander while tightening his grip on the sword at his waist.

His two subordinates were seen to have raised their shields and spears. And Ferris himself....

"Only about 50 werewolves. If they march well then this won't happen." Reply Feris briefly.

"The soldiers from the territory outside Eastfort's castle can't be expected, just like you predicted."

Now, some wolf riders seem to be getting closer. The three men had prepared their weapons and shields.

But Feris just stood quietly. It did not even touch the sword on his left waist.

"Grooaayarr!!!"

"Vatums!" The Orc shouted out what it meant while swinging its axe towards Feris' neck.

Although right at the end of death, Feris remained calm. Even the commander and the 2 soldiers had already started to panic.

In a flash....

'Sreeett! Blaar!!!'

Feris pulled the right arm of the Orc with that huge body then slammed it on the ground. While the wolf he was riding still continued to run through the ranks of Feris and his subordinates.

With a still-flat and cold gaze, Feris stomped on the Orc's chest before pulling his right arm with all his might.

'Sraaakk! Kraa!'

"Yahahahh!!!'

The big, muscular arm seemed to break off easily. It made the Orc feel a tremendous pain.

Not stopping there, Feris took over the big axe of the Orc and immediately cut off the neck of the Orc that had been lying limp on the ground.

'Zraaasshh!'

The commander and the two soldiers were completely shocked. They had absolutely no idea that Feris could do such a close combat. It even surpassed Orcs easily, which had always been known as a race with extremely powerful physiques.

"Hm.... It's bad, but it's enough to hunt the rest." Said Feris while looking at the big axe.

In the commander's mind, he began to wonder.

Who is the real figure of this Ferris? Wasn't he known to never fight? Shouldn't he be just a thinker who needs protection?

Then....

Why did he not draw his sword?
