E - Rank Hero In Another World
Chapter 24 - Exit

'Tap 'em! Krak!'

Every step of the foot, there was a sound of metal friction. A once terrible sound, it has now become a friend.

Dimas, who was now wearing thick leather clothes behind the armor, walked towards the entrance of the mine. I plan to leave him forever.

What was behind him, was the bodies of 5 soldiers who had been crushed to pieces. His body was scattered along with his blood.

But everything immediately froze in the middle of this cold.

Beside him was the body number 52. The one who thought he would betray Dimas, but in reality was only taken advantage of by him.

Now, he lay lifeless with a body that began to freeze.

Dimas did not take his eyes off her. He did not care what had just happened and what he had just done.

Nothing but his own safety.

In that darkness, Dimas walked quietly while thinking about the next step he should take.

'Going to town? Back to the Village? What am I supposed to do?'

Without realizing it, a faint light was seen starting to shine through the darkness within this mine. The source of the light was none other than the entrance of this mine.

A cold wind blew snow into the mine. Gives enough cold to kill someone.

But nevertheless....

Exactly 4 workers were seen sitting on the side. Docked to the wall of this mine while facing a small pile of bones.

Those who were previously busy enjoying their meal, suddenly turned their eyes towards a Soldier walking before them.

Why is there only one?

Where are the others?

Why does his attitude look different?

What the hell just happened?

These questions arose in the heads of the four workers. Trying to find answers in others, but no one understands the situation at all.

Until finally....

'Stamp!'

Dimas stopped his steps and shifted his gaze. He saw 4 men with bodies that are very thin so that many of their bones began to appear on the surface of the skin.

As a final tribute to a fellow victim....

"I've killed all the soldiers. If you go inside, you will get quite a lot of warmer, more decent clothes from the soldiers. Including armor and weaponry if you want to escape.

The food owned by Number 52 was also left there. You can have it, and I've had enough of it." Obviously Dimas with quite a long width.

Their fourth response was silence. They had no idea what the man in front of them had just said.

One of the workers finally dared himself to ask the man.

"The.... Whoareyou? What do you want?" Said the skinny man in a limp voice.

Hearing that question, Dimas finally remembered.

This deadly situation had managed to kill and destroy their only most important provision as a human being.

That's resourcefulness.

Lack of nutrition, cruel and deadly conditions, and fear of punishment. All of that succeeded in numbing their minds, making them slaves who would only obey orders from their Master.

'They have no hope.'

That was what Dimas thought after seeing the figures of those workers.

But nevertheless....

"I am number 30. If you use the equipment of those soldiers, you can at least escape from this place with a little warmth. But that's all the help I can give." Said Dimas who immediately stepped his foot.

Leaving that mine became one of the worst chapters of his life.

A chapter....

Which he so desperately wants to forget.

He was so eager that he decided to leave his own name. Together with the past.

The snowstorm that covered this area of the mountains was really so heavy.

His strength is truly extraordinary. Even walking is difficult. Not only that, the cold felt far exceeded what was felt when inside the mine.

His sight started to blur a little.

One because of hunger. Two because this storm itself limits a person's view to only be able to see as far as 5 meters.

When he looked up at the sky, all he saw was snow moving so fast and powerfully.

No one will know this time is morning or night. Clearly, the light is very low as if only illuminated by moonlight. Making the search for the direction of the wind by utilizing the sky is impossible.

Therefore, Dimas could only give up his fate on instinct alone.

He walked straight down the mountain in one direction. Not moving in that direction even though the storm was trying to do so.

His newly formed footprints were immediately covered by snow in just a few tens of seconds.

In other words....

'Coming back from this place is impossible to do huh? Is the power of my eyes useful?' Asked Dimas in his heart.

Immediately, he poured a bit of Mana energy towards his eyes. Activate the Clairvoyance skill that can see everything.

But unfortunately, even that A-level skill was useless in this storm.

The eye is only able to analyze the properties of an object or living thing. Unable to save him in the midst of this powerful blizzard.

One hour....

Two hours....

Three hours....

I don't know how long Dimas has been walking in the middle of this storm. But his view has not changed at all. Only snow continuously moved quickly following the direction of the wind.

Dimas himself also did not change the direction of his footsteps. He kept walking straight in one direction. Or at least.... That's what he thought.

Until finally....

'Srrruuuttt!!!'

"Eh?!"

Dimas' body suddenly slipped and fell. His body continued to slide rapidly because the slope of the ground was so steep.

'Bruukkk! Arakkk!'

The longer, the faster his body slid. Hit whatever's in front of him. Be it twigs, the rest of the rocks, even the trees. It was as if his previous suffering had not been enough.

Quickly, Dimas immediately drew his sword and attempted to stick it to the ground. A final attempt to brake his progressively longer movements grew faster.

'Klaaangg! Kraakk!'

The sword began to crack. Start fracturing.

But what he did had a real impact. His movements slowed down slowly, bit by bit.

Until finally, Dimas stopped right in the middle of the forest. A forest that no longer has leaves, with stems and twigs that look dead.

"Damn it.... Did I break my bones?" Ask Dimas to himself.

He began to think how the Soldiers would always arrive at the mine. Is there a secret path that only those who know?

Dimas didn't have time to think about it.

His body began to shiver.

His body began to tremble.

Even his mind could no longer focus.

If coupled with his left hand that was very sick and somehow difficult to move, it could be said Dimas was in a very bad condition.

Even so, he smiled quite widely.

People may think they are going crazy. But in reality it is very far from that.

In front of his eyes, there was the best marker he could get right now. It could be said to be the greatest help there was to his circumstances.

And that thing....

Nothing else and nothing is a frozen river. The flow of water had long since stopped and turned into ice.

So why is he smiling?

Of course, it's because....

"Following the flow of the river will lead you to civilization.... Now, should I go left or right?"
