Eldrea Academia and The One That Stars Chose
Chapter 3: Master of Magic Part 2

The trees and the darkness of the night decorated our journey to grandfather's house. But instead of feeling calm and peaceful by all these sights. I felt hot because Master kept nagging me during the trip. Not only was the road slow, but the complaints made my ears feel deaf to it.

"Hoi boy! How long are we gonna be at your house?” The teacher asks the same question over and over again.

“Patience, we are almost there. If you are not strong to walk, why don't you turn into a bird like that?” my advice to Master who keeps complaining.

Thinking of my advice, Master then turned back into a bird, although he seemed to still be a little annoyed at having to walk after just eating. But I didn't tell him to walk at all, I just told him to follow me.

“You should have done that from earlier teacher,” I said with a little mock.

At least he turned back into a bird. He wouldn't complain too much from feeling tired, and I could walk faster without having to wait behind him.

“Whispering!” The teacher who had changed instantly flew up and perched on my shoulders.

With the teacher turning into a bird, I accelerated my pace. Actually the distance between the grandfather's house and the lake was not so far away, but because the teacher walked very slowly we ended up spending a longer time than usual.

The trees that covered the forest, little by little had already begun to thin. It indicates that my house is approaching. After passing through the lush trees, we could finally see grandfather's house.

A small 3-meter-tall stage house in the middle of the spacious courtyard. Grandpa deliberately made the place like this because with the yard area and height of the house, grandfather can keep mosquitoes away from his house. This science itself can be obtained from the monkeys who live on the tree.

“It's up.”

“Hoo, good enough also for a house in the middle of the forest,” praise Master after seeing grandfather's house.

The teacher eventually turned back into a human form and started walking up the stairs to get inside the house. As we were about to enter the house, the smell of the cool leaves from the forest had mixed with the dust covering the interior of the house.

“Uhuk, I'll take back my words about your house. Have you never cleaned your house?” The teacher coughed at the dust that began to fly as the wind from outside began to enter the house.

“I always clean it, it's just that I just finished fixing my house this afternoon and haven't had time to clean the rest because I'm hungry.”

“Yeah, I can't complain much given your situation.”

“Thank you for understanding. Wait a minute, let me clean up a little so we can talk.”

I immediately cleaned the floor filled with dust and the rest of the wood I used this afternoon. After I finished cleaning the floor, I immediately prepared a pedestal for me and Master to sit inside.

The teacher who was standing at the door sat directly on the pedestal I prepared, and I sat down before him.

“So, why did you ask me to bring you here?” ask me to open the conversation.

“I just don't want to sleep outside,” replied Master looking so relaxed.

“Hah? that all?”

“Of course not. I also need a comfortable place to explain why I raised you as a student. Wait a minute,” cried Master to me.

The teacher reached into his pocket and took out his dimensional pouch. He took out a black badge with an E engraving in the center.

“Eldrea's Plan? Moreover this is black.”

From what I read in the book. The Kingdom of Eldrea used a badge as a sign of membership in his kingdom, a badge shaped like a small shield with an engraving of the letter E in the middle. You could say this badge is an identifier of all people related to the kingdom, but even so. The badge also shows the caste difference from the owner

For a brief explanation itself like this.

Badges made of bronze were given to the staff as well as the royal soldiers. Silver is for people of higher rank such as captains and commanders of troops. Gold for the nobles as well as important people like the king's advisors. Platinum for those who have been able to make such a great achievement for the kingdom. You could say those who have platinum badges are heroes to the kingdom.

But there are rumors saying that there are also other badges with power higher than platinum, and those badges are only given to certain people like the heroes who fight the demon race, he said, the black badge is made from the legendary dragon fin of Acnologia, better known as the king of dragons.

But the authenticity of the rumor is very difficult to prove considering the hero who is still alive today is Theodor Waston who served as Archduke and the King of Eldrea itself, Maximus Crowler. For that reason this rumor is difficult to prove because they both already both have their own platinum badges.

“Hoo, so you also know this badge?” the teacher said with a big smile.

“Sure, but isn't this badge only given to the heroes?”

“more precisely. This badge is only given to people who were directly involved with the fight with, Demon King 30 years ago.”

“Hah?! so you're that old?” I was really surprised by it.

“Of course not a jerk!” A loud punch from the teacher instantly floated into my head.

“Aww!” my moans.

“I did follow the war when I was 18 years old, but I ended up frozen in a block of ice due to the attack from that goddamn demon king!”

“It's not entirely true. I froze because I was forced to resist his attacks on Trishia and also Jester,”

Trishia and Jester are a pair of heroes who disappeared 10 years ago, they are 2 other heroes who fight together with the archduke and also the king..

“If you may know, what is your relationship with the heroes that teacher?”

“I met Jester and Trishia when I became an adventurer, and before long, I became their mentor. They will not be able to be anything if there is no me to help them,” he said arrogantly.

“Then what about archduke and also king?” ask me further.

“They are just soldiers from the empire we met on the battlefield. And because we fought together, in the end we became closer.”

“Hmm, so so.” I started to know the teacher's past.

“And as to the business I was referring to earlier. I need you to help me find the whereabouts of Jester and Trishia. I heard they disappeared after having a child. There was news that they were being pursued by someone who was allied with the demon race. That's why as a good teacher. I need to find them and help them. That too if they are still alive.”

“What do you mean they have died?”

Master's face started to grim after hearing my question. “It seems so, I can tell of their whereabouts because I implanted my mana into their hearts. But at this time I do not feel the existence of where I keep them.”.

“Sorry, I made you remember that.”

“What's wrong, instead I'm quite grateful for meeting you.”

“Why?” manya curious.

“Because I feel my mana in you.”

“Means?”

I was surprised to hear his words. Where it may be that his is in me when we have just met.

“So, I don't fully understand either. How can my mana be in a boy like you, but obviously it all started from a year ago.”

“True.”

Master still put on a gloomy face, I could see that there was such a huge burden weighing on his shoulders.

“When I was released 5 years ago. I met Maximus and Theodor in Eldrea. The reunion wasn't very pleasant because I discovered that my student had disappeared from this world for 10 years. As a good teacher I decided to go look for signs of their existence, but as you know, I couldn't find anything.”

Pity began to fill me, I could not believe that behind his haughty and arbitrary attitude towards others it also stored such deep sadness.

“But after a long search, I could suddenly feel the mana I had stored in the hearts of Jester and Trishia. Exactly one year ago,” continued Guru.

“If it was one year ago. Means that when I just used magic?”

“Hmm, So so. I did feel my mana, but it was really weak and often disappeared so suddenly that it was quite difficult to trace. But if that's the time you've just learned magic, it all makes sense.”

Hearing Master's explanation, we finally had a hypothesis that might make sense.

I guess where Master's has been in me for a long time. I don't know exactly when, but it's clear where it's just buried inside me, and it's all stopped because I'm magically starting to be able to read and use magic..

You could say which one was buried in me began to come to the surface along with the increase in my ability to use magic, so that I began to be detected by Master. But since my ability in magic is still very lacking, I guess that's why teachers say that mana often just disappears.

“So you've been looking for me all this time, and just found me tonight? What do you mean by having a need around here to find me?”

“Yups, exactly once.” He nodded his head.

“Then what do you need from me?”

“For now you can't do much, but I know, if I train you now. You will definitely be useful to find the whereabouts of my students.”

“Hopefully.”

“Alright, because you already know our next destination. Better we sleep now,” said Guru while directly laying his body in his seat.

My head can't fully accept all the information from Master. If all that is true, then danger will once again lurk the human world and I as the person designated by Master as his student should help him to stop the possibility.

Just thinking about it made me shudder in horror. Without me realizing, I had gotten into a problem that could not be solved by an ordinary child, but I also could not turn my eyes away from the danger that awaits humanity today.
