After two days of thinking about who her male friend she would be holding as her temporary lover to come to Caira's birthday party, Tari made her choice to Cakra, her tech company office's first friend, the place to work first.
"Dance, why do you look so nervous?" ask Cakra.
"I'm not nervous. I'm just not comfortable coming to a party that almost all of my guests don't know." Dance tidied her hair through her reflection on the elevator wall.
"Yes, you look really nervous. Is it because of the businessman, who you told me about in the car?" ask Cakra back.
On the way to the Caira apartment, Tari had a little story about Caira, Gala and Tara. Dari tells the story so that Cakra knows how he must act as his temporary girlfriend in front of the three of them.
"I have nothing to do with him, nor will he be present, for as far as I know he is very busy."
The elevator rang and the door slowly opened. Dance and Cakra can hear music playing from the end of the veranda. Cakra clasped tightly with Dance's hand guiding her out of the elevator, "Let's start this charade" she said excitedly.
There was only one door visible on the veranda, so the two of them walked towards the door and pressed the bell.
"Why is there only one door here?" ask Cakra wonder, because usually in one floor of the apartment building there are several units.
"Because this whole floor, belongs to Caira."
Cakra. "And he works for you? It's crazy anyway!" he shook his head.
Slowly the door opened, and Tari was relieved to see Caira standing in front of her holding a champagne glass. Caira immediately grabbed Dance's hand. "Let's go in, come in."
Caira pulls Tari inside, and Tari squeezes Cakra's hand and drags her behind Tari. Caira continued to pull the two of them apart the crowd until they arrived at the other side of the living room. "Darling!" she screamed, tugging at her husband's arm.
Gala turned around and smiled at Tari, then extended her hand towards Tari. "Have you come to dance?"
Dance smiled as she shook Gala's hand. "Yes just now." he glanced back and around, but there was no sign of Tara, Tari felt very lucky today because Tara was busy taking care of her mega project.
Gala extended her hand to Cakra and endured it. "Hi, nice to meet you."
Cakra embraces the shoulders of Dance. "I'm Cakra!" she cried, "I'm her fiance Dance."
Dance almost choked on hearing Cakra's statement, then she brought her lips closer to Cakra's ear. "What are you talking about? Our deal is just a pretend boyfriend, not a fiancee."
Caira again grabbed Dance's arm and pulled her away from Cakra. "I borrowed your fiancee for a while" he said.
Cakra nodded inviting Caira to happily take Tari away, while she chatted with Gala.
Dari follows Caira to the kitchen where she puts a glass of champagne into Tari's hand. "Drink," he said, looking at Tari seriously. "Is that really your fiancee?"
Dari nodded while sipping champagne given by Caira.
"Wahhh happy Dance, I pray that you marry her soon." Caira gives her warm embrace to Dance.
Tari forced herself to smile while thinking about the lies she would later tell Caira about her engagement with Cakra.
"Your kitchen is so big, it's even bigger than my apartment." Dance tried to divert the conversation, she already did not want to get caught up in the lies made by Cakra.
Caira giggles. "Yes, this is how it is" he answered. "And just so you know, I married Gala not for money. I accepted his proposal when he had only a million in his savings, and when we got married, we just lived in a tenement. I'm willing to leave my parents' mansion, because I love my husband so much."
Caira breathed her leg. "Well, we enjoyed the rollercoaster of living together, lovingly."
Dari did not expect if it turns out Caira who looks spoiled had lived a difficult life. "Very inspiring" said Tari.
Again Tari was forced to smile as Caira went back to discussing Cakra. The kitchen door opened and Cakra stepped in "Your husband is looking for you" Cakra told Caira. Caira rushed out of the kitchen while dancing, and laughed the entire time.
Cakra leaned against the table, and said. "Oh yeah, I think I just met the businessman's master."
The heart of Dance immediately beat fast. "How do you know if he's the one? Did he introduce himself to you?" tanya Tari while sipping her champagne back.
Cakra. "No, but she overheard Gala introduce me to another guest as your fiance. It felt like the way he looked at me could make me burn, which is why I ran here. I'm just your pretended fiancee, and I don't want to die just because of you."
Dance chuckles. "Don't worry! I'm sure the look of death he gave was actually just a smile."
The door swung open again, and Dance immediately tensed up, but apparently only the catering officer. Dance sighs in relief.
As Cakra approached, he picked up the champagne and gulped it down, then grabbed Dance's hand. "Let's mingle" he said, pulling out of the kitchen despite Dari's unwillingness.
The room looks increasingly crowded, there may be about a hundred guests invited by Caira and Gala to come to the party. The two of them went around and mixed in with the guests. Along the blending, Dance is more silent. Half his attention was focused on watching every corner of the room he went through, half his time was on Tara, he was looking for signs of Tara's existence. He did not see her anywhere, so he began to doubt whether the man Cakra told him was really Tara.
"Hmmm, what a strange picture," said a woman in a white dress.
Dance looked up and realized the woman was staring at a work of art on the wall. It looks like a photo on canvas.
"It's so ugly, the picture is blurred. We have absolutely no idea what the picture is." the woman then left irritated.
Actually, Dari saw the picture was a bit strange, but he felt he did not have the right to judge Caira's taste.
"What do you think?"
The man's voice was deep and right behind Tari. Dance closed her eyes for a moment and took a breath to calm down, then exhaled her slowly. "I like it, though I'm not too sure what the picture is. But I find it interesting, your sister has good taste."
Tara shifted to be next to Tari, facing towards Tari. "You're here to take your fiancee?"
Tara said it like it was a casual question, but it wasn't. It was some kind of interrogation.
He leaned over and whispered in Dance's ear, "Is he really your master?"
Dance gulped, as her throat suddenly seemed to be blocked by Tara's sharp gaze, then said, "What if she's my fiancee?"
Tara smiled cynically then she finished the drink in her hand. "Oh, congratulations then." Tara throws her drinking glass towards the empty trash can in the corner of the room. The shot was precise, but the glass shattered into pieces as it hit the bottom of the empty trash can.
Dance glanced around, but no one witnessed what happened. When Tari turned her head back, Tara was gone. He vanished into one of the rooms, and Tari was still standing looking at the photo again.
That's when Tari began to understand and recognize the hair. It was her hair, and it was the rooftop where she first met Tara.
Tara zooms in on the photo and distorts it so no one knows what it is. Dance held her neck, her blood seemed to boil and instantly the room felt extremely sultry
Caira appears next to Dance. "What a strange picture?" tanyanya while looking at the photo.
Dance fluttered her hands. "It's very hot here" he said. "What do you think?"
Caira looked around "Oh huh? I didn't realize I was a little drunk. I'll tell Gala to turn on the AC."
Caira disappeared again, and the longer Dance stared at the photo she was getting irritated. Tara hangs a picture of herself in Caira's apartment, she gives her food, she shows her regret at Tari for bringing 'Fiance' to her sister's party, she acted as if there was something special between them even though Tara never gave a clear status to their relationship.
