Enough
Chapter 26's

After arriving at the apartment and informing Tara that she had arrived, Tari curled up in bed, looking at her diary.

Not much of the rest of the writing that has not been read by him, only a few sheets remain. Dance took the diary and put it beside her.

Meeting with Ranu, then knowing he had a lover and living more firmly makes his heart unbecoming. Dance kept looking at her diary, and slowly she picked it up. "I'll finish reading the final chapter, and then I'll put it back in my shoebox and I'll never open it again."

Dance rolled over on her back and began to open her diary.

Dear diary,

Ranu is very ill today.

For two nights in a row he broke in through my bedroom window and slept on the floor, I realized something was wrong with him.

His eyes were red, his foreskin pale, and although the air was very cold, his forehead was sweating. I no longer need to ask how she is, I knew right away that she was sick. I held her forehead, and almost screamed because her body temperature was so high.

"I'm fine Dance" he said, then he prepared a bed on the floor. "You wait here for a while" I said, rushing to the kitchen to get some warm water and medicine.

I wasn't sure what pain Ranu was, but I kept telling him to take the flu medicine I took from the medicine box. After taking the medicine I gave, Ranu curled up on the floor, half an hour later he said. "Dance, I need a dumpster."

I jumped up and grabbed the trash can under my desk. As soon as I put it in front of him, Ranu leaned over it and started to spit out his entrails.

I am so sorry for him. He was sick, had no bathroom, no bed, no house, no mother. Ranu only has me that even I don't know what to do.

As soon as I finished, I gave him a drink and asked him to get on the bed. Ranu refused, but I continued to force until finally Ranu would obey my request to move to bed. I put the trash can under, by her bedside and then wrapped it in a thick blanket, then lay down next to her.

Two hours later, he vomited again and continued to vomit every hour. I took the trash to the bathroom to clean it up. My disgust was overcome by my mother's sense of him, he needed me the most.

I don't know where he got his strength. By morning, Ranu had already left my room, yet I was still sleeping and left the trash lying by the bedside.

When my mother came in to wake me up, she saw the trash can and panicked to hold my forehead. "Are you sick, baby?"

I groan. "I've been up all night, and I haven't slept, mother."

Mother took the trash, and told me to lie down. "Today you rest at home, you'll call your homeroom teacher."

After her father and mother went to the office, I picked up Ranu and invited him to rest at home. Ranu was still vomiting, but then I just remembered when I was a kid I once saw my grandmother scratching my grandfather's back when my grandfather caught a cold.

I don't think it's wrong if I try. I asked Ranu to take off his clothes, then I reached into my chicken piggy bank to look for coins. As soon as I got the thousand rupiah coin, I started to scrape at Ranu's back which I had given the wind oil to.

"Patience a little, Ranu. Your back is very red." I asked, I finished it until Ranu's entire back turned into a red line.

I let her sleep, while I made her some porridge and soup for her. I'm not sure my cooking is good, but it forces her to finish my cooking after Ranu wakes up from his sleep.

I breathed a sigh of relief, seeing Ranu's condition gradually improved even he could take a bath. We both sat on the couch, covering our bodies in selmut and watching the cartoon finding nemo.

I don't know when I started to feel comfortable leaning on Ranu's shoulder, but it felt really comfortable. Ranu peeked at the top of my head, maybe it was as a gesture of his gratitude without using words. My heart really melted in him. Maybe for him it was a bad day, but not for me.

We watched until we arrived at the scene where Marlin was looking for Nemo and felt desperate, then Dory said to him, "When life takes you down, you want to know what you should do? Keep swimming. Keep swimming, swimming, swimming."

I clenched her hand tightly and whispered "Keep swimming, Ranu."

Tari's tears swirled down her cheeks, she was holding her crown, exactly nine years ago where Ranu had first dipped her, and until now Tari still remembers how it felt.

Dance wiped her tears and opened the next page.

Dear diary,

Ranu came home after we finished watching, then the night when my parents were asleep, Ranu slipped in through my bedroom window. Although Ranu is no longer sick, Ranu still sleeps on the bed, because the pedestal he used to sleep on the floor is being washed, I want to make sure everything's clean so no one gets sick anymore.

We lay face to face, and he said, "When are you on your birthday?"

"Last March, it's past" I replied. We kept looking at it and it made my heart beat fast. "When are you?" my many.

"I'm also past, I'm February. One month before you were born" he replied. "Tari, there's something I want to tell you" he said.

I nodded, ready to listen to what he wanted to say.

"Last noon after coming home from your house, I stopped by the cafe to check email. My uncle who was in Europe replied to an email I sent a few days ago. Uncle is willing to give me a place to live and enroll me in school there."

I should have been happy to hear the news, I should have smiled and congratulated. But I can't lie to myself if I'm so sad. "So you're leaving?" my many.

Ranu nodded. "Yes, if you'll let it."

I feel I have no right to prevent him from leaving, nor can I let Ranu live in an unworthy house and work odd jobs in the senen market. Ranu deserves a decent life and education just like me and the other kids our age. "So when are you going?" my many.

"After uncle finished his work, he would take care of my transfer papers" he said, gently stroking my face. "Dance, thank you for everything you've done for me. You're my good fairy." Ranu approached and kissed my forehead.
