The next morning Dari flew by the sunlight that infiltrated the window of her hospital room. "Morning is my good fairy," said Ranu. "How are you doing?"
"I'm thirsty" said Tari hesitantly, all night crying making her throat dry.
Ranu smiled and rushed to get a drink for Tari.
"Aww..." Dancing grimaced with indecision as she sat on her bed, she still felt the pain in her bok*ng section.
With a swift Ranu helped Dance sit down. "His seat is slightly tilted yes," he put a pillow as a backrest bok*ng Dance. "How is it, comfortably not?"
Dance nodded. "Lumayan" he answered.
Ranu then sat on the bed of Tari, he grabbed Tari to his chest, while stroking Tari's shoulder gently. They sat together without talking, slowly Tari leaned her head on Ranu's shoulder and her hands on Ranu's lap, she could feel if Ranu was sad over his current condition.
"Ranu," said Tari in a soft voice. "I'm sorry yes. Everything you said back then, right." Dance looked up and looked at Ranu's face, she forced a look of a sad smile. "You can say 'what I said'."
"Tari, my words from yesterday are not to be proved. Every day I pray that my gut is wrong, that you be happy with whoever you choose." Ranu dyed the jellyfish Tari. "Now you have breakfast first." he got out of bed Tari, then took a bowl of porridge that had been provided by the hospital for Tari.
Patiently, Ranu greets Tari "Let's open his mouth."
Initially, Dari was willing to open his mouth, but in the feed to his two stomach churned, he refused to open his mouth again. "It feels so bland, I'm nauseous."
"You should eat dance. The fetus in your womb needs nutritional intake," said Ranu, he tried to persuade Tari to open her mouth.
"Fetus?" tanya Dari was confused. "You mean?"
Ranu put the bowl of porridge on the table, he looked at Dari with a serious face. "So you don't know if you're pregnant?"
Dance shook her head.
Ranu cleared his throat, "You're pregnant right now, and your gestational age is 6 weeks," he said everything the doctor told him without anything he covered, including the rapist*saan who caused injuries in some sensitive parts of Dance. "I know he and his family are not random people, but you don't have to worry, I've contacted a reliable lawyer. We will definitely win, Tari." Ranu said with confidence.
Dari tries to digest what Ranu says. "You mean, we're gonna report Tara?"
Ranu nodded steadily, there was a radiance of anger in Ranu's eyes. "I will never let anyone who has hurt you be free!"
Dance shook her head. "No Ranu, we don't need a lawyer, because I won't report Tara to the police."
Ranu rounded his eyes, he was quite surprised to hear the rejection of Dance. "Tari, he hurt you," said Ranu, he felt not accept what Tara had done to Tari "Semlam you almost died from losing a lot of blood and he's also been harassing you, Dance."
Dance stroked her stomach gently, slowly clear circles began to fall from her eyes, she covered her face with both palms. "You don't understand, Ranu.. Hicks..."
Ranu sighed heavily, actually he was very disappointed with the decision of Dance, but he could not force Tari to report Tara to the police. Ranu drew closer to Dari, and hugged her back. "I'll cancel the appointment with the lawyer I've been in contact with" he whispered, then he let go of his embrace and wiped away Tari's tears. "You don't cry anymore huh, I'm going downstairs for a bit, you don't mind if Lidya will accompany you?"
"Lidya my step-sister. Coincidentally my mother is being treated at this hospital, that's why I returned to Indonesia," Ranu explained.
"Mother? The old man who kicked you out so you were forced to live in the old house behind my house?" ask Dance carefully.
Ranu bowed his head. "The man left my mother after finding out that my mother had kidney failure. Not only did he leave my mother and my sister, but he also brought the rest of my father's legacy." Ranu breathed out slowly.
Dance is at a loss for words, she is amazed at Ranu who is so sincere in forgiving and caring for the mother who has kicked her out of the house for the sake of her new husband, even she also made a Japanese restaurant for her stepbrother.
"But yes, I feel like my life is much better. My focus is now on Mom's health and Lidya's education." Ranu stroked both arms of Dance. "And so are you."
Ranu let go of his hand, he grabbed his phone at the table. "I go downstairs first yeah, Lidya will be coming soon." she stepped her foot out of Tari's inpatient room.
After Ranu left, Tari looked at the ceiling of his inpatient room, he thought about the next step after he left the hospital, he did not want to go back to the apartment Tara, he did not want to return to the apartment, he can't go back to his apartment either because Tara will be looking for him.
For some days Tari is not ready to meet with Tara, he is reluctant and afraid to meet her. Dance tilted her body, her eyes fixed on the table next to her bed, she saw there was a pen and a small notebook owned by Ranu.
After a long time of not writing, I felt like I needed to write. Dance took the pen and the book, as she waited for Lidya's arrival.
Dear diary,
I haven't written in a long time. Since Ranu's incident, I can no longer write or watch the film Finding Nemo, everything feels painful to me. The last time I wrote was eighteen, but now I'm 27. My father is dead, I have graduated S2, and I have succeeded in realizing my dream of having a beachside cafe. All my life goals have been achieved. Hooray!!
I am also married, but not to Ranu, but to Tara.
We have a unique habit of playing with honesty. Where we have to say the truth about what we think and feel that no one else has ever known.
And this is my honesty...
I now feel that I am in a phase of grief, and that pain is mounting in my heart. I lost my best friend, lover, husband, and hold on to my life. But this feeling of grief that I felt was different, due to the presence of emotions that usually do not follow real death.
Hatreds.
I was very angry and hated her, but in the midst of the wave of hatred that I felt tucked into my mind 'I should have told Tara about the tattoo on my body, I should not have kept Ranu's gift items, I should not have kept Ranu's, including my diary.' Such justification was the hardest part of this incident, as it gradually swayed my power to leave from it.
Maybe this justification is what flashed in the mind of the mother, when the father beat her. Or maybe it is also because you worry about many things such as: financial stability, do not have the capital to provide a decent place to live and school for me, didn't want to keep me away from you because I needed a father figure. I believe this justification is what strengthens the mother to stay with the father.
Now there's a new human being my womb that we're making together, and whatever choice I'm going to make (Survive or separate) those two aren't the choices I'm hoping for my son. Growing up in a broken home or a violent family, I obviously let my son down.
He's Tarisma Orange.
When Lidya came in, Tari had already finished her last paragraph. "Good morning sister-in-law" she said.
