An hour ago Tara contacted her, Tara reported that she had not finished her meeting and that she might not be staying in the apartment tonight.
Now at 19:00, Tari looks restless and keeps pacing in her room. He thinks about Ranu's offer to stay with him in Europe, he thinks about Tara and thinks about his cafe.
"No, I can't leave the cafe that's been my dream for a long time. I also can't leave Tara who is now my girlfriend, just because part of my past is coming back. Me and Ranu are done." muttered Tari.
Dari laid her body on the bed, she was stunned to see the character figure Marlin and Dory given Ranu, which she placed on her dresser. "It's all over, Ranu. You're late."
Dance got out of her bed, picked up the diary from inside her wardrobe, she felt ready to read the last page of her diary.
Dear diary,
Ranu has been away from Jakarta for 182 days, and I have studied at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Although I met a lot and met new people, somehow my heart remains fixed on Ranu. I always count the days as if he will return to Jakarta, and every weekend when I return to Jakarta, I always come to the old house hoping Ranu is there.
People say, teenage love is only monkey love that is only temporary, but what I feel now I love Ranu so much. Every night I cried myself to sleep, I whispered "Keep swimming."
Perhaps I am currently experiencing stages of grief. Denial, anger, bargaining, distress and acceptance. I drowned in the depressed stage on the eve of my eighteenth birthday, when my mother had given me many gifts, making me my favorite cake, then we both went to dinner at the best restaurant in South Jakarta. But still, it can't all drive away my sadness.
I was crying when I heard my window on tap. At first I thought it was raining but then I heard a familiar voice. I jumped up and ran to the window, I saw Ranu standing outside my window in the dark he smiled at me.
I opened the window and helped her in, she hugged and held me for so long, while I cried in her arms. The smell of his body is very good, although now he is wearing perfume, but I can still feel the scent of his body that I always miss.
In addition to his fragrant body, now Ranu is not as neat as before, his body has begun to contain. Ranu took off his embrace and wiped the tears from my cheek. "Why are you crying my belly?" he wiped my tears with his fingers, then took me to sit on the bed.
"Happy birthday my good elf, I miss you so much" she said with her eyes twinkling, she looked so happy as if she had found her home. Ranu opened his backpack and gave me a tiny music box. "This is all I can give you."
Actually with Ranu just coming, it was already a special gift for me. I smiled at him. "Thank you," I immediately smashed through the music box and looked at a fairy dancing on it.
Ranu got out of bed, turned off my room lights and asked me to press a button next to the music box I was holding. To my surprise, I saw the light projector lamp at the edge of the lake beautifully lit on the wall of my room.
Ranu turned on the room light again, and asked me to read the small text under the music box. 'Orange Light on the Lake'
"Tarisma Orange which means twilight, and Ranu which means lake" said Ranu, meaning the meaning of the writing, as he again sat beside me. "I saved all my allowance and worked part-time to buy gifts and plane tickets so I could go home to Jakarta." Ranu asked me to sit on his lap because he wanted to tell a story.
I thought she was going to tell me about her school or her new boyfriend, but she told me about the first day she came to the old house, the truth is not to live there but to commit suicide. But just before he entered the old house, we passed him on the street.
"You're standing at the end of the street like a fairy" she said. "I can't take my eyes off you, I want to be able to see you every day, that's why I'm undoing my intention to end my life." Ranu looked at me deeply. "Without you knowing it, you've saved my life."
Ranu leaned forward and kissed my neck, the part of my body he liked the most. He then clasped my hand and told me that he got a college scholarship recommendation, he did not want to burden his uncle for that he must focus on learning in order to achieve his best grade, he also said he would stay in the dormitory for the next four years until he finished his studies.
"I promise you," he said. "When I graduate and have a decent life, I'll come back here for you. But I don't want you waiting for me, I want you to be happy living your days."
Ranu doesn't want me to be the girl who doesn't enjoy life because his girlfriend never met him and it's not clear, so he doesn't want me to wait for him.
I know, actually Ranu didn't mean to brand me. It's just the circumstances that make us have to be thousands of kilometers apart. That night I did not ask Ranu to change his plans and dreams that were in sight, he had the right to fly in pursuit of his future.
I nodded and tried to smile. He returned my smile and we kissed, made love and laughed as much, though all we did was keep our mouths shut so as not to be caught off guard by my parents.
Ranu hugged me tightly, the skin met the skin. He kissed me and looked at me. "I love you, Dance. You are everything to me."
If in the previous few paragraphs I said this is my best birthday, it is the truth. Ranu made my birthday perfect, but the next few minutes were like a nightmare.
Before Ranu showed up, I really did not expect that Ranu would keep his promise to come on my birthday, given the distance and cost required to come to Jakarta is not cheap so I did not think to lock the door.
Dad heard me in the middle room talking to someone so suddenly he came in and....
