Chapter 27's

"Now what are you calling your lover?" gumam Dance. "Did you call him 'My good guy' too?" It feels like Tari is not willing if Ranu calls his lover with the same name.

"If I meet again, I'll ask." Dance opens the next page.

Dear diary,

I don't want to think about Ranu's departure, for me right now is enjoying the time with him before he actually leaves Indonesia.

I looked out the window to see the PLN technician's car at the end of the road repairing the power cord, which meant that today the lights went out.

"It looks like today will be very boring, there is no ac, radio and TV, too" I said in a disappointed tone.

"Don't pout!" Ranu put my nose. "Today's gonna be a great day, you got a stove oven?" ask Ranu.

"Have it," I nodded confusedly, why did he suddenly ask about the oven.

Ranu started walking towards the kitchen. "I'll make something for you" he said.

"Can you cook?" I followed him from behind. Ranu opened the refrigerator and began to shift its contents. "Cooking is one of the things I like, like you like gardening."

Ranu took out some materials from the refrigerator and started heating the oven. I just leaned back in the mini bar and watched her. Ranu did not even see the recipe at all, he immediately poured the ingredients into the bowl and mixed them without the need to use a cup of dagger.

All my life, I've never seen you touch anything in the kitchen. Even I'm pretty sure that you can't heat the oven, all he can do is heat his heart.

I used to think all men were like that, but seeing Ranu nimble in the kitchen proved that my view was wrong. "What do you want to do?" my many.

"Cookies" he answered. Ranu approached me with a bowl of dough, he lifted the spoon he used to stir the dough into my mouth, and I tasted it.

"Wow.." I said, to be honest, this is the most delicious cookie dough I've ever tasted.

Ranu put his dough on the mini bar, then wiped the rest of the dough stuck to my lips with his finger, while looking at me deeply. "Dance, have you ever been kissed?" ask Ranu.

I shook my head, returning his gaze. I seemed to be stunned when Ranu landed his lips on mine, and I shook my head. I felt Ranu's hand tremble as his lips clenched mine.

A moment later I ventured to do what he did, I moved my lips. I felt the tip of his tongue sweep my lips once, then he did it again, until I finally swept our tongues and tongues touching.

Ranu released his lips pulling his body away. "I'm sorry, Tari" he said with a guilty look.

I shook my head while smiling. "It's okay Ranu, I like it."

This was my first kiss, in my mind wondering if I was in love with her? I've never had a boyfriend so I don't know what it's like to fall in love with a guy.

Because honestly before getting to know Ranu I was very afraid of being close let alone having a relationship with the opposite sex, he said, since I wasn't raised in a family with a male role model who knew how to treat a loved one, I kept a mountain of doubts and fears about relationships with men.

Even I once wondered, would I ever be able to have a relationship with a man and be able to dispel this fear?

Most of the reason I hate men because the only example I have is my father. But spending time with Ranu, starts to change my gaze because Ranu always treats me gently.

Ranu stopped kissing me, and took the bowl back. He began to scoop the dough into two pans that had been coated with bread paper.

"You want to know the trick of baking with this stove oven?" tanyakanya.

I was almost never interested in cooking, suddenly wanted to know, I wanted to know everything he knew. Because seeing how enthusiastic Ranu is when telling stories.

"Ovens like this have hot spots." Ranu said as he opened the oven door and placed a baking sheet inside. "You must put the fit in the middle, then after half-baked you turn the wobble to ripen evenly." Ranu closed the oven door and removed the gloves and danced on the table.

Ranu came up to me again, and then he wanted to kiss me again, but we heard the sound of a car coming into the house and the garage door began to open. I rushed down from the seat, looking around in panic.

Ranu cupped my face, "Supervise the cookies, about twenty minutes more mature." Ranu kissed my lips quickly then took me off and rushed into the living room to pick up the backpack, he ran out of the back door just as dad turned off the car engine.

I began to tidy up the ingredients of the cake, as father stepped into the kitchen. He looked around, then saw the stove burning.

"You're cooking?" tanyakanya.

I nodded, wiping the kitchen to make it perfectly clean. "Cookie. I'm making cookies."

Dad put his briefcase in the mini bar, and walked to the fridge to pick up a soft drink. He sat down and asked me where I wanted to go to college. I'd love to say, I want to study in Europe so I can meet Ranu, but I can't leave my mother with the monster in front of me.

"So you want to go to college where's Dance?" tanyanya back, disperse my daydreams.

"Maybe in Jakarta or in Singapore, which is not so far away" I replied.

I chose Singapore because it only takes 2 hours by plane, so I can go home anytime to check the condition of the mother and still get the best education.

Sitting in the kitchen with him about education and career, made me miss more moments like this with my father. If you had always been this warm man, things would have been so different, I would have loved him so much.
