FOUR SEASONS

FOUR SEASONS
Summer (Part 10)

Arunika envelops the horizon. The warm gentle light managed to wake Kai from his slumber. The bead blinked, staring solemnly at the beautiful face that was being closed in front of him.

"Beautiful.." Happy muttering.

"Agreed."

"It looks like I'm really in love." Said again.

"I know."

Huh huh?

Kai spontak. It turned out that Caspian had been hovering above them since earlier. The ghost was chin-backed with a seductive expression.

"Aaaw.it's very sentimental our hero this morning." Tickled ticklish.

Kai grabbed the small rock at the side, then threw it at Caspian's face with a slash. The stone is translucent and drifts away, of course.

"Go far away!"

"Huuu takuutttt." Caspian stuck out his ignorant tongue. Then fly away, still burning.

Lalita who felt like she heard a one-sided commotion, slowly woke up and rubbed her eyes.

"Yes.." Calling him, half conscious he looked around in confusion. "What's wrong?"

Kai turned.

"Good morning, Lalita." Soft sweep.

"Good morning.." Lalita smiled broadly. "I thought you were talking to who you were."

Kai flicked his shoulders, pretending not to understand. He then took his steps towards the riverbank. Washing his real face is still handsome even a little damp.

Lalita followed him from behind.

"The water is fresh!" Lalita washed her face.

He glanced at Kai silently. Water shafts sometimes fall from the children's jet black hair. Kai's level of antics rose by several degrees.

Kai who was washing his face suddenly stopped when his eyes caught something. He walked to the side of the river in front of him. Lalita followed without asking.

"Lalita, look." Kai pointed at something behind a knee-high reed. "It's forgotten me not."

"Eh right." Lalita exclaimed happily. "I didn't even notice. Hoo, you're great too." he said nosy elbowing the young man.

"Because he's so small." Said Kai again. "Everyone doesn't notice her even though she's beautiful because she's small. He's always hidden. Aren't you the one who said he was named forget me not so people don't forget him?"

Lalita smiled broadly. Without answering he then moved and went around like he was looking for something. Kai only looked confused as the girl returned with two coconut shells in her hands.

Lalita squatting. Digging the ground around forget me not. He tried to uproot the two hordes of cute blue petals along with the roots and soil that were there, then put them in both coconut shells.

"Then we get a little more land.." The girl's great-grandson was busy scraping a bit of soil then adding it into the coconut shell.

"Done!" Excited pleased. He handed one coconut shell to the young man in front of him. "Save one, I keep one.."

Kai looked at the girl confused. Now she has to plant flowers or what?

"Remember what I told you first about forget me not?" Ask the girl to point her finger.

Aahs..

"If two people take care of forget me not together, then they will not forget each other." The young man replied, his eyes straight into the happily sparkling jade bead.

"They won't forget each other. Forever."

***

Tanana walked downstream from the temple to the courtyard, from the courtyard to the temple, and so on, back and forth from the break of dawn.

He was worried amazingly. Her daughter hasn't been home since last night. It's not that they don't seek, it's just that they don't produce results. Seda was only able to rest a few hours before dawn.

Really he did not expect Lalita to respond until like that last night. Usually the girl is so submissive, not much to argue with. Love always changes someone.

The female shaman wagged her robe irritated. He walked back to the temple grounds, but stopped at the doorway, his eyes glazed over as he saw his only son standing in the courtyard.

"Ofraith!"

"Mother.." The girl slammed into a hug. Guilt filled the flavor niche because she realized Tanana must have been worrying about her all night.

Tanana was busy stroking Lalita's hair and rubbing her shoulders.

"Thank God you're okay. Thank goodness the gods protected you, Lalita.."

"Mother, Kai helped me last night."

Tanana took off her embrace. He looked at Lalita. The light of the girl's eyes showed real constancy.

Tanana sighed.

"Come, Lalita. Let me tell you something."

Lalita slightly gasped. Then hurriedly followed his mother's steps into the temple.

"I used to be like you." Tanana started the story when the two of them were already sitting quietly within the temple. "I love challenges and new things. You know, this village is beautiful, but sometimes it can be boring. I want to go out, see life in a faraway land. But our family is the holder of sacred rituals in this village, Lalita. Our family has been shamans for generations."

Until here Lalita began to worry about her future. He doesn't want to be a shaman.

"So about the couple." Tanana. "It is customary for our families to look for a partner with matchmaking. Your mother, too, was betrothed at that time. But mom refused. Because I've fallen in love with someone."

Jade bead Lalita flickered curiously. He looked at the enthusiastic Tanana who was now smiling wryly towards him.

"That man is your father."

"Dad?"

"I met him in the forest while learning stealth archery. He's so handsome and dashing. I fell in love at first sight. And I was so excited to know that he was interested in me. Your grandparents disagree. They say he is a stranger with no apparent origin. But I don't care." Tanana gave a small laugh, reminiscing about her stupidity first.

"Then?" ask Lalita carefully. Her mother had never told her this before.

"Our tacit relationship continues further and further. I'm pregnant." Tanana's tanned bead looked at Lalita grudgingly. "But he won't admit. He even asked me to abort you. He dumped us, Lalita. He threw us out."

Lalita started to glaze over. He can catch the pain implied through the gaze of his mother.

Tanana sighed. Swallowed all the bitter taste that still remained to this day.

"Omong is empty about love. If only I had listened to my parents."

Lalita was so sad to hear that. She hugged Tanana tightly.

"Mother, I'm sorry. Because I'm mom to have to experience all this."

Tanana smiles. His fingers rubbed the girl's hair lovingly.

"I just don't want you to experience something similar. That's it."

"But Kai is.."

"Promise." Sela Tanana quickly cut off Lalita's speech.

Jade bead Lalita looked at him desperately.

"Promise me you'll introduce her to me soon." Tanana a second later. A heartfelt smile etched beautifully framing her face.

"I love mom!" Lalita hugged him back, tighter than ever.

"Don't do anything too far before you introduce him. Remember, I have to judge it first." Tanana flicked Lalita's nose. "I must make sure the young man is worthy of my beloved daughter."

"I promise, I promise." Lalita was happy. He smelled Tanana's cheek many times.

Tanana chuckled and patted her son on the shoulder. The girl looks so happy.

"You really like that foreign boy, don't you?"

Really like. Hugely.
