FOUR SEASONS

FOUR SEASONS
Summer (Part 2)

And, here he is now.

Having made up his mind to find out whose voice had always echoed in his ears lately and easily followed the advice of the Caspian bloon, then this was where he was now.

In the flower field!

He's clucking pissed. This is a flower field on the hills. As far as the eye could see lay the colorful tapestry of life.

No, he doesn't fit into this place. It's all too bright, too sweet, too beautiful. Very, very, very incompatible with his character. It feels like vomiting.

He also had to walk even though his eyes hurt looking at the flowers around him. Traveling around with wings is not a good option because it will invite the attention of other humans. He was even willing to use his human form.

Now, where is the source of that sound?

There's nobody here.

He groaned in frustration. Roughly clenched a sunflower and squinted his eye at it.

"That silly sound always boasted about the flowers. Is she Thumbellina?" his inner error, the more focused he paid attention to the flower in his grasp. Who knows if there really is a little fairy there.

He took the sunflower too seriously until a savory laugh from behind spontaneously made him turn his head.

"Sir, you love flowers huh."

She's looking. The area behind it turned out to be a plateau almost resembling a grass-clad cliff, but was smaller in size, only about five meters high. On it, stood a smiling young lady staring at him.

His hair straight unraveled shoulder to shoulder with caramel-like color. His jade eyes sparkled beautifully with thin straight eyebrows exactly as ants lined up. His celestial nose was sculpted mesmerizing. And the thin lips still faithfully braze a beautiful smile.

The woman was wearing a gray dress with a knee-length random white stripe pattern. His left hand held a small basket weaved from rattan. While his right hand was tidying his hair behind his ears, the children of his hair had indeed been fluttering in the gentle breeze ever since. Sunlight radiating from the back, making its appearance appear more dramatic. In short, the girl looked radiant.

"Or maybe you're looking for a little fairy there?" He said again with a friendly laugh.

There is no lawfulness.

The demon man was still silent, his face exuding various emotions. He realized that this was the voice he was looking for. It's the girl's voice. But this is beyond his common sense. She, paired up with someone so bright like that?

Seeing the person he was addressing just a stone, the girl took the initiative to approach first. He turned around to look for a way down the cliff, then ran around in his direction.

"I know the whole village but I've never seen you before." He said after they faced each other. His jade eyes twitched, showing a wave of observation.

The man in front of him was very handsome. His jaw line is firm. His eyebrows aren't too thick. His eyes were sharp, his nose was thick, and his lips were rather thin. He is very tall and proportionate. His clothes were all black, exactly his hair and eyes.

"Are you a wanderer?"

"Yes." Yeah."

and his voice sounded so stiff.

"Lied." The girl laughed again. "What kind of travelers only carry themselves without supplies?"

"You alone, what are you doing here?" The devil asked, trying to divert the conversation.

"I'm looking for flowers." The girl showed me her wicker basket. He smiled seeing the man before him still reluctant to move. So he took a step forward, past the man, walking lightly through the ranks of the sunflowers.

"I want to get a red poppy over there." He stopped, then turned around with a cheerful smile. "If you're bored and you don't have a job, you can come with me if you want."

And he laughed as the stiff man behind him started to slowly follow.

The devil walked in broken ways. Staring fiercely at every colorful expanse they passed by. Sometimes hissing angry when his feet accidentally stuck the stems of flowers. He was sultry, amused, and disliked. But his heartbeat, and the rumbling of his heart, persuaded his feet to step following the girl.

"Still far?" His voice sounded protesting.

"A little more, sir." Answer the light girl. "Ohya, By the way. What is the name of Mister?" He stopped and turned around. Giving a curious look.

The devil is flinched. A name? He doesn't have any.

All his life everyone just called him 'devil' with frills like a curse, cruel, cursed, or evil. This was the first time in thousands of years that someone had asked her name.

"Why don't I ever have a name?" He's confused.

"Did you not want to tell him?" The girl caught his attention again.

He hung on for a long time, until then decided to look for a safe answer.

"Try me guess."

The girl turned on. His face was seriously bent. He was weighing up, with all the characteristics of the man before him, roughly what was his name? Ah, don't-don't..

"What is your name.. Kai?" Doubtful he conveyed his thoughts.

"Yes. Right."." Right."

The girl gasped. His eyes are round funny.

"Really?" The cry did not expect.

"Yes." Yeah." The demon (let's call Kai from now on) nodded steadily. He really did not care about a name, but the name given just now.

"What is the place still far away?" Kai asked, jerking the girl from her astonishment. He still couldn't believe it, really that guy's name was Kai?

"Ah, this way, ..Kai." He said he was leading the way again.

Miraculously Kai felt this trip was not as annoying as it was. It was true that he was still amused at all these flowers, but not as bad as before. The footsteps feel lighter.

"We've arrived." The girl's voice broke her daydream.

Kai threw his gaze forward. His black bead was rounded, he admitted he felt a little astonished. The sight of hundreds of red poppies lined up neatly slapped in front of him.

"Beautiful right?" The girl smiled. He advanced and began picking poppy stalks, then putting them in a basket.

"You're just gonna pick this one?" Kai, whether conscious or not, took part in picking up some poppies and handed them to the girl.

The girl smiled and accepted, and started to tell stories. "Next week our village will celebrate the anniversary of the knight, and almost everyone needs this flower. That's why I'll pick it up for a few days."

Kai frowned a little confused. There are so many flowers in these hills. Why should this one be red?

"What about the yellow flower where we first met?"

"Oh, that. Her name is sunflower. Beautiful huh?" The girl turned her head, Kai reflex nodded small. "But sunflowers do not fit the theme of the knight's day. Does Kai know the story about sunflowers?"

Without even bothering to wait for an answer, the girl had already returned to telling stories.

"A long time ago, there was a forest Nymph named Clytie who fell in love at first sight to Helios the sun god. He saw Helios roaming the sky so valiantly. Because of his love, he just silently watched the sky. Not eating, not drinking, not resting, not even moving. The faithful Clytie stayed that way for eight days. On the ninth day, something magical happened. Her legs turned into roots, her body turned into a stem, and her pretty face turned into a graceful flower. Clytie's love for Helios has turned her into a flower that continues to face the sun."

"so." Kai answered as he could.

"Therefore the sunflower is believed to be a symbol of loyalty." The girl now looked at him with a big smile. "Conon, if we plant sunflowers in the back of the house, then peace and affection will be present in the household."

"I just heard that story." Kai put in some last poppy. The basket is now full.

"But I have a different opinion." The girl threw away the distant view. His mind sank into the bright afternoon sunlight. "Clytie turns into a plant, and her feelings for Helios are not even conveyed. This is a love story clapping one hand. The plant grows and spreads rapidly on the face of the earth to remind humans not to overdo it in love or just end up being silly like that."

"That's right." Kai chimed in straightforwardly. "Don't love someone who doesn't love you."

The girl smiled again. He could not count how many smiles and laughter came out today just because he met a traveller whose origin was unclear. But for some reason, he was happy.

"Well, it's late in the afternoon.I have to go home or I'm going to find me." He said tidying up the poppy in his basket once again.

Kai felt heavy as the girl turned around and stepped away from him. His heart was pounding and his heart was rumbling again. With reason still trying to maintain his sanity, he finally asked,

"Are you here again tomorrow?"

The girl immediately turned around and looked at him sumringah. "Come back tomorrow. We'll meet at the same time and place." He said waving a cheerful hand.

Kai choked, unable to answer anymore. The gentle breeze made this afternoon feel even more dramatic. Is he starting to lose his mind?

Tomorrow, shall we meet again?
