CHAPTER 47. GIVE A CHANCE
"I'm sorry" said Devani, distancing herself from Mahen.
An awkwardness ensued between the two of them, then he said again, "Let's go in! Tomorrow you'll have to work" Devani asked.
"Yes, I'll finish my tea for a while, baby if you're left out" Mahen said.
After Mahen finished his tea, Devani took the empty glass from Mahen's hand and brought it to the kitchen.
Before going to the room, Devani washes dirty glasses and dishes first. Apparently Mahen was still waiting for him to finish washing the dishes.
"It's over?" asked Mahen who almost made Devani surprised, he did not expect, if Mahen was waiting for him.
"Oh already, I thought you had returned to the room?" ask Devani.
"No, I'm waiting for you to finish" Mahen replied.
"Let's go to sleep, tomorrow he is afraid to wake up late" said Devani as she left the kitchen followed by Mahen.
Arriving at the top, they went into their rooms after Mahen said good night and good night.
This morning Mahen left for the office early, but he did not see Devani below. Then Mahen looked for him into the kitchen and into the dining room, still invisible.
But Mahen saw his breakfast on the table. Finally, Mahen had breakfast without anyone accompanying him. Afterwards, she returns upstairs to see Annisa and hopes to meet Devani there.
Mahen opened Annisa's room, but the little girl was still sleeping curled up there, then mahen kissed Annisa before leaving her room.
Mahen's gaze was fixed on the door of Devani's room, he felt surprised that the girl did not usually sleep again.
Mahen ventured, knocking on Devani's bedroom door, hoping she was there.
Three times knocking on the door there was no answer from the inside, then Mahen picked up the phone and called Devani.
Devani's phone rang, it was in her room, but why didn't anyone pick up the call.
Out of curiosity, she holds the door handle and opens it, and it turns out Devani's room is unlocked.
Mahen did not see anyone inside, including no sound of water in the bathroom.
"Where are you Van?" monologue Mahen.
Not finding anyone Mahen decided to get off and go to the office.
Arriving below, he saw Papa's mother, all there.
"Are you leaving Hen?" ask the Papa.
"Yes Pa," Mahen replied but his eyes were still in a daze looking back and forth to make the parents curious.
"What are you looking for, son?" ask mama.
"Where Devani ya Ma, tumben this morning he was not seen" said Mahen.
"Some have felt lost apparently yes," said his mother.
"That's not it, Ma, just tumben. Usually 'he would have breakfast with me, '" said Mahen.
"So he said he wanted to jog, would be back soon," said Mama Intan.
"Oh, then Mahen left first yes Ma," said Mahen to his mother.
"Yes, be careful" said Mama Intan.
"Pa, I go first, yes" Mahen told Papa Andara. Then he paid his respects to his mother.
Mahen drove his car slowly while looking to the left right of the road, hoping to meet Devani, but still Devani was nowhere to be seen.
However, while at a crossroads, Mahen saw the girl he was looking for, he was arguing with someone whose face was invisible due to wearing a hat and jacket.
Mahen stopped his car and watched them from inside the car, about fifty meters away from where Devani was arguing.
When Devani saw crying, Mahen came down and ran to them.
"Hey, what's going on! Why are you crying Van?" mahen asked as he held onto Devani's shoulders.
After that he looked towards who the man in the hat and jacketed, Mahen was startled and said, "You!"
The man said, "Yes, I'm Bastian."
Why are you here so early in the morning and make Devani cry?" ask Mahen.
"It's none of your business, it's between me and Devani" Bastian said.
"But why did you make her cry and I saw you fighting in the distance. Can be discussed carefully, while sitting, so it does not cause the attention of people who pass here," said Mahen.
"Give him back to me! I want you to cancel your wedding!" bastian.
Then Bastian said again, "He loves me and mine, so don't force your will! Your marriage will not be happy!" shouted Bastian.
"Bas, stop! I have decided and I will not take my word again. You're late Bas! I'm sorry" said Devani, crying and running away from the place to return home.
"Wait Van!" Bastian cried and ran after Devani.
A man's run is faster than a woman's. Bastian manages to catch up with Devani and pulls the girl into her arms.
Bastian also apologized for the allegations that turned out to be wrong and apologized for Devani being damaged.
He was so sorry, so blinded by emotion, that he could not believe Devani and Mahen's explanation.
Hugging Devani, Bastian said, "I'm sorry Van, please give me one more chance. I was wrong, I was scared, I was too jealous, all because I love you too much" Bastian said, trying to hold Devani who was struggling to escape Bastian's embrace.
"Take off me, Bas, let go! you're nobody to me anymore, I'm getting married soon, so please let me go" Devani said as she thrashed and smacked Bastian's chest as her hand slipped from Bastian's grip.
Mahen was originally sculpting in the distance, when he saw Devani successfully hugged by Bastian. He resigned, maybe Devani is not his match.
Because at the beginning of his promise, Mahen will give Bastian a chance before there is a bond from him that is used to Devani and before the marriage occurs, Devani has the right to decide his choice.
But when Mahen sees Devani thrashing, hitting, even biting Bastian, in order to escape from his arms, Mahen runs towards them, he must break up the two and ask directly about Devani's decision.
Mahen pulled Bastian's arm strong while shouting, "Let go of him! You have no right to hurt him!"
Devani was released from Bastian's embrace and took refuge behind Mahen's body, she cried violently.
"Revelation! I want to talk to him, you have no right to interfere in our affairs!" bastian told Mahen.
"Who says I have no rights! Devani is my fiancee and will soon be my wife" Mahen said firmly.
"You don't need to be rude, speak well, haven't I reminded you before? I've given you the opportunity to resolve your misunderstanding, before our marriage, straighten out" Mahen said.
