HE'S NOT HUMAN

HE'S NOT HUMAN
CHAPTER 6

It was late, but Bella was still tinkering with her phone. Looking for a job for a high school kid like him. There are not many options, other than being a small shop employee or becoming a cashier at the minimarket.

The next day, after school, Bella stopped by one of the minimarkets in front of the road she used to walk. He hopes that, of the 5 places he marked last night, at least one will accept it. This was her first work experience.

"Good afternoon. Are the job openings still available?" bella asked the young man who seemed to be older than her.

"Oh, wait a minute," the young man replied politely, then walked into the room behind him. Not long after, a middle-aged man came out with the young man earlier

"Good afternoon miss, I'm Rudy, Head of the Shop." the old man introduced himself.

"Sore sir, I'm Bella. I want to apply for a job here, is the vacancy still available?"

"Still, but there's a night shift left and it ends at 11 p.m. How's it?" ask Mr. Rudi.

"Oh it's okay sir. I happen to live near here, so I'm not worried about having to go home that night" Bella replied.

"Well then, Miss Bella can start tonight. The next shift will start at 6 pm make sure to arrive on time and for dinner we provide instant food in the back," explained Mr. Rudy.

"Okay sir, thank you." Bella answered happily.

"Oh yeah, this is Zayn. He's the one who's gonna keep it in the day shift." Mr. Rudy introduced the young man.

"Greetings to Bella." Zayn stuck out his hand.

"Greetings to Zayn." Bella welcomes.

After that brief introduction, Bella went home to change her uniform and returned to the minimarket. He still sees Zayn behind the counter, counting something.

"Good Night Zayn," Bella said kindly.

Zayn was still struggling with numbers and the calculator in front of him returned his greeting. "Hi Bella's. Already eaten?" ask Zayn.

"Already," Bella replied as she peeked at the stack of papers on the cashier's desk. "What are you doing?"

"I'm counting my earnings during shift for a report to Mr. Rudy. Want me to teach you?" tawar Zay.

"Can. I've never worked before. So, please be patient with me.” Bella smiles.

"Haha. Alright. Now come here." Zayn pointed to the side.

Bella agrees and approaches him, focusing on what Zayn teaches. Sometimes he nodded his head and occasionally he repeated Zayn's index finger on the papers.

But, somebody's out there. In the darkness of the night, he seemed unhappy with the sight he saw. He clenched his hand. He was weighing whether to eliminate the man or not.

...****************...

The first day of work for Bella was exhausting. He closed the cashier drawer, made a report on the prepared book. Then put the book back in a small closet right under the drawer and lock it. Exactly like Zayn's direction before the shift change.

After making sure all the lights were off, Bella locked the minimarket access door and turned around, "Gosh!" Bella was aghast while holding her chest, she was surprised to see Arro already standing there.

Bella takes a deep breath, while Arro just smiles looking at Bella. "What are you doing here?" bella asked after making sure her heart rate was back to normal.

"My house is only a 10-minute walk away" Bella said as she walked.

Arro let out his breath. "You don't know what's going to happen in those 10 minutes."

"Yes okay ... Just stay tonight, and the deal's over, right?" ask Bella.

Arro followed Bella's steps. "Bella, don't you want to extend that deal?"

"For what? Cintya's still in the hospital, and my mama's gone a long way. There's nothing else I'm worried about" Bella murmured.

Arro stopped his steps. "In that case, allow me to stay by your side."

Bella who heard it, stopped her steps. "Arro ... It looks like we don't have to see each other anymore" Bella said without turning to look at her. "I'm safe now and .. You've returned the favor to me for helping you" he continued. Bella's voice is weakening. He himself did not know whether his decision was correct. But, Bella has to end this.

Arro was still silent back there. There's a lot he wants to say. But will Bella believe him. What if things get complicated?

Bella who did not hear any more answers from Arro, stepped forward leaving Arro with her own thoughts. Even though he knew, Arro still watched him until he opened the door of his house.

...****************...

After the conversation that happened that night. Bella goes about her days without Arro present anymore. Even when he locked himself in the room and cried longing for the good times with his adoptive parents and his younger brother Kenzo, Arro still did not show up.

Bella is relieved, at least Arro no longer feels what he feels. But tonight, he is sad not because of his adoptive family. But because he felt pain in his heart. Let go of something he inexplicably regrets. Bella is aware of her feelings, when Arro is no longer by her side.

Bella didn't know when she had that feeling. Whether from the first moment he met Arro, or since Arro always comforted him when he was injured.

Bella just does not want to be complacent with her feelings when she can rely on others and can have people who are always by her side. Bella learns that losing someone won't be more painful when you can let go first.

That was the reason for not wanting to see Arro again. Their world is different. Bella is not stupid to dream of being in a relationship with a creature that is not from her world.

Until, one night when he just finished work. As usual, make sure the lights are off, and all the doors are completely locked. Bella stepped through a very cold night.

The street lights are usually bright, now a little covered in a thin fog. The sky is also very dark. Like a cloud covering the path of the moon. Bella hugged her body, while occasionally blowing her palms.

Until when his net caught the figure in front there. With its wings still stretched out. What is Arro? Bella squinted her eyes, trying to clarify her vision. But that figure was just standing in front of there.

As Bella walked over cautiously. The figure also walked closer to him. Until Bella can see the figure clearly. He ... is not Arro or Levi. But an old man with his long hair that was as white as silver and his eyes that were red lit up. Its wings are towering and the horns are taper on the sides of its wings.

Bella freezes. He can't move his legs. What's the matter?

"Ck, so this is the prince's pragma?" the old man was already standing right in front of Bella with a sharp grin. He walked around Bella and watched her. "Just a human? How could? A weak creature that can't even fight small magic" the old man quipped.

A pragma? Prince? Bella didn't understand what the creature meant. But Bella knows she's in danger. Bella could feel the air getting colder around her. Bella shuddered in horror. He wanted to run as hard as he could and scream for help to anyone. But damn, his mouth is as his feet as his body.

"It seems, this will be the best gift," muttered the old man who was now stopping behind Bella.

Bella's tears fell slowly. His eyes began to feel heavy. "DORRO!" bella screams in her heart. Then, everything darkens.
