Engagement Ring

On the same day...

Darwin was busy relaxing on the balcony of his house while eating boiled beans. The news of Shin's engagement did not surprise him at all.

Then suddenly the phone in his pocket rang.

"Hello"

"Where are you?" the voice behind the phone sounded very familiar. It was Shin's voice.

"At home" Darwin replied while biting the beans with his other hand.

"Guide me somewhere" Shin said directly.

Gulp! Darwin slowly swallowed the beans he chewed. Actually he wanted to relax today and not go anywhere.

"Uhuk, uhuk" he coughed and said "I'm sorry Shin. I'm sick right now"

"I'm at your doorstep and I can see you"

Duars! Darwin immediately got up from his lazy chair. He went straight to the edge of the balcony and looked down. There Shin was already standing in front of his car door. Shin looked at Darwin and smiled cynically.

"I'm down" said Darwin sadly. Honestly, he felt the world was fooling him.

He went downstairs too. Shin got into the car and Darwin followed him without saying anything.

"Where are you really going?" she asked.

Shin started the car. "Something" he said was unclear.

They crossed the highway for fifteen minutes before stopping at a place that looked luxurious. Darwin recognized this place. This is a jewelry store!

"I want to buy an engagement ring. Help me choose it" Shin said.

Darwin gawked with his mouth open. Honestly, she did not expect that Shin would go down alone to buy an engagement ring. She thought Shin would have someone buy her any ring for the engagement. That meant this engagement event was very important to her!

Darwin followed Shin to get inside. As the two of them walked in, all the shop employees greeted them. The shop really looks very luxurious. Even the floor looks expensive. Unlike ordinary jewelry stores that display a lot of jewelry in a display case. This store only displays some jewelry in a storefront. But it was the best jewelry they sold. They do not sell cheap jewelry!

"Can you help the young master?" a young lady greeted them kindly and politely.

"I want to find an engagement ring"

The five rings look very elegant and expensive in their respective ways because each of them has a unique design.

The young woman explained the ideology of each ring perfectly. Even Darwin did not understand the young woman's explanation at all. He only focused on looking at the five rings that he considered the best. Darwin decided that when he got engaged, he would also choose an engagement ring for himself.

"How about Young Master? Are you interested in one of them?" ask the young lady.

Shin rubbed his chin. He's thinking. He then pointed at the ring that looked plain but had a micro-sized pure diamond surrounding the corner of the ring. "What do you think?" Shin asked Darwin.

Darwin frowning. The ring was beautiful but it was suitable for two engaged adults. While they were teenagers, they could not choose such a boring ring.

"I think it's better" Darwin pointed to a ring that had a small, triangular diamond on it. "It is very suitable to describe youth"

"That's too conspicuous" Shin immediately rejected it.

"I'm sure the little bunny would prefer this ring. Girls love beautiful and flashy jewelry" Darwin added.

Inexplicably, Shin was upset when Darwin called his fiancee "the little rabbit". But he couldn't protest that because Darwin had called Nana that name a long time ago. It's just that he doesn't like that right now.

"I'll choose this one" replied Shin. He didn't care what Darwin said at all.

Veins of annoyance popped into Darwin's head when he saw Shin ignoring him.

If you don't need my advice, why did you bring me here! Darwin cursed in his heart. Even though he was upset, he tried to hold it.

The young woman asked if Shin wanted to carve their name or initials under the ring. Shin thought that the initials alone were enough and the woman told Shin to wait for a few minutes until the carving was complete.

Darwin saw the ring that had previously caught his attention. He found the ring very attractive. He is not a man who likes to wear jewelry. But the ring was fit to be given to a woman as a gift.

"I packed one. The female version" Darwin said casually as he pointed towards the ring with a small diamond on it.

Shin scrunched his forehead. "Why did you buy the ring?"

"For a reward of course" replied Darwin with his cool. But honestly, he doesn't know why he bought it. He has a lot of girlfriends because he is a friendly man. In the eyes of others he may look playboy but he is not. Despite being close to many women, she never teases them excessively.

Darwin did not feel that his female friends were worthy of this expensive ring. Maybe he'll think about giving it to whom later. Jewelry sold in this store is limited edition and only has one version. If bought by someone else, he would not be able to find the same version.

That was how Darwin passed his day to accompany Shin to buy an engagement ring. He even bought one too without her ever guessing. Just because he felt interested in the ring.
