I'm Just a Supporting Character
We're Not Alright

A few minutes later, everyone had already entered the small forest. Finally it was my turn to be with a foreign partner whom I did not know at all.

"Number 5" the butler's head called us. After that he began to explain how it works. "You see the directions" he pointed at the white sign that was stuck on the ground. "Follow the direction of the sign. Then you'll find a way out. Do not travel in any direction. Although this forest is small, still we can not know what wild animals are in it. You better follow instructions. Do you understand?"

We both nodded quickly.

Then the butler gave us two flashlights as lighting.

We also entered the forest. This forest is not entirely an artificial forest on the island. This forest was a native forest at first. But because of the construction of the Villa and other facilities, they vacated some of the land. Only a small part of the original forest remains. They let this small forest remain and took care of it to make the island look beautiful.

The forest is very dark because it's midnight. Even with a flashlight, it still could not light up most of the way. That small flashlight could only shine down on the path in front of us. So I really don't know what's in the bushes that surround us.

I occasionally glanced to the side to see my partner. I'm just afraid this guy ran to leave me behind. But the man stared ahead without any expression. I don't think he's a cowardly man. I don't know why I felt so relieved when I found out about it.

Along the way, the atmosphere was very quiet. There was only the sound of crickets singing in the dark of the night.

We kept quiet and didn't talk to each other. I actually wanted to start a conversation, but I was afraid that he would ignore me coldly again. So I broke my intention.

Finally we found the first signpost. The signpost leads to the right side of the forest. We followed her direction without blinking.

We continued walking through the forest. Sometimes I hear some noise in the bushes, but try to ignore it by lowering my head. And sometimes a strange white hanging thing appears suddenly from the top of the tree. I want to scream because of reflexes.

Hearing my screams, the man beside me stared intently at me.

"Whispering" he murmured in a satirical tone.

My face twitches. But I didn't return her taunts and just snatched away her annoyance. Isn't it normal to scream when I'm afraid? Besides being a coward is not my own desire humph!

We also found a second sign that instructed us to keep straight ahead. I followed the instructions while trying to contain my nervousness.

But then I felt something a little awkward. As long as I passed the signpost, there was always a shocking surprise that the committee had prepared to shock passers-by. But this street feels quiet and desolate.

Even we had already walked for the next ten minutes, without finding anything. Only the sound of crickets was heard.

"Isn't this weird? I haven't seen a single trap so far" I finally opened my mouth.

"..." the man next to me turned his head towards me with a flat expression, before he finally turned his gaze forward again. "Truck.." he muttered.

"...." I stared at him in disbelief. Every reply he throws at me always sucks. I don't even know why this guy hates me! Does he hate me because my relationship with Lista is not good? If it was true like that, he was absolutely an unreasonable man!

"Humph!" I just snorted in annoyance while throwing my gaze back to the front. Then back to silence. Unfortunately for me, this frightening atmosphere remained even more domineering. So that the annoyance disappeared in an instant, changing with nervousness and anxiety.

The situation is very strange now. How could I not suspect?

"Hey, we haven't found a signpost yet? Isn't this weird?" I said worried.

I'm thinking about the worst thing in my head right now. We might get lost! But I hope it doesn't happen.

"We'll find her in front" the man replied to me in a normal tone. I was immediately flabbergasted. Has he not always ignored me?

"But the forest ahead is getting busier. There are many trees!" my protest. "Let's go back. My feeling is really bad right now!" take me later.

The man looked at me. "A little while we're up. You want to turn around? Just do it yourself" he said.

I can't dare to walk alone in a place like this. So inevitably I kept walking forward with him.

"Are you sure? There's not even a way here anymore" I said nervously as we started passing through the bushes. I don't even remember the way home even though we're turning around now.

"Everything's fine. Just straight ahead" he replied confidently.

"How can you be sure of that? Don't you suspect we're lost now?" I said protest.

"Are you stupid?" he looked at me intensely. "The island is very small. There's no way we're lost. Unless you're a fool" he replied.

I don't care about the response. I kept blabbering along the way, telling him to come back. I don't want to go back alone because I'm sure I must be lost. It's better to get lost together than alone because getting lost on your own would be even scarier.

"Can you shut up? I told you everything would be fine!" he lost his temper and started yelling at me.

But I still didn't give up. Until we finally found no more forest in front of us.

"Look, we're up, aren't we?" said the man confidently as he looked at the empty space ahead.

I stopped babbling and moved forward faster. But I don't see any path at the end. Except a cliff that juts down. And beneath it there is only a choppy sea.

We've been exploring the forest for thirty minutes. It is surprising that we have reached the end of the island. This proves that the island is indeed small.

But that's not the problem!

"You see this!" I pointed down the cliff. "Don't I tell you we're not okay!" I screamed in frustration.

Yeah, the thing is we're lost...
