Chapter 19: The Last Weapon

"What's this?"

Shortly before stepping out, Light found something that interested him. Light picked up the cylinder, watched it closely and flipped through the object several times in order to know the details better.

The tube is hexagon cylindrical, has a grayish color with black striped sides. Engraved on one side of the ancient writing that not the slightest Light could understand.

"Have you heard the story of how the great wars of the past happened, son?"

The old granny's gaze was sharply highlighted, however at the moment she looked not to play around.

"Yes, even if it only comes from books." Light felt an out-of-place oddity. Slowly, he returned the cylinder on top of the pile of books where it had previously been tucked away.

"There are various absurd mythical stories in it. Including about the 6 divine weapons told in generations."

"6? Isn't that just 5?" A frown appeared on Light's forehead, "I've read a lot of literature, all of the materials I read only mention 4 swords and one spear. Excalibur, Clarent, Claiomh Solais, Durandal, and the Holy Spear of Longinus."

"However, all those weapons were destroyed by the time of the great war hundreds of years ago."

Light completes his words, he is very sure what he believes is the right thing. However, the granny in front of him smiled again, as if to show that the knowledge that Light had was very short.

"Of all those divine weapons, how can they all be destroyed?"

Light's mouth was silent. There is an important thing that escapes the reason of his way of thinking. The shopkeeper's grandmother's question in front of him made Light reflect back.

"Divine weapons can only be destroyed by other divine weapons. That was the reason why there were six legendary weapons in this world. However, no one knows the existence of the final weapon and how other divine weapons were destroyed. Historical evidence only records if people at the time only saw the five fragments of the weapon and each had lost its divinity."

"What's the reason you said all that to me, Grandma?" There was a perceived impropriety of Light. Shortly after he discovered and observed the cylindrical tube he found, for some reason the grandmother suddenly changed her attitude drastically.

The granny just smiled, somehow the smile she looked at made Light even more irritated.

"Take this story as a form of my service to customers. After all, we might never see each other again."

"Oh..." Light put on a smile of compulsion, a huge frown also visible on his face, "After successfully blackmailing me, it turns out that you dare to also say such nonsense."

Light left, but just before he held the doorknob of—

"Bring the cylinder if you're interested, son."

"Yes! I'll take it! Thank you very much!" The cylinder that Light had placed on top of the pile of books was quickly grabbed, Light stuffed it into his pocket and rushed out of the store.

BRACKET!

Light closed the door loudly, ringing the bell very loudly as it was pushed with excessive force.

The mysterious grandmother smiled again. Slowly, his wrinkled white skin again became tight. The pungent stench from his body slowly faded, replaced by a fragrant stench that could even fill the room.

White hair wrapped in a hood back blackened. The black cloth barrier that covered his two eyes slowly slipped away, revealing red eyes that emitted a white line of highly concentrated mana that could even be seen by the naked eye.

"It's nice to tease our own offspring, don't you think, sweetheart?"

Old granny—who had turned into an adult woman in her mid-30s seemed to say something to the cross-marked coffin that was right beside her.

Looking at the door where Light closed it so roughly, the mature woman known as one of the founders and the first empress of the empire hoped, "Get good use of the 6th divine weapon, Light. Because if you're wrong to use it, the cylinder might destroy the world."

The atmosphere is so quiet. Light had moved several hundred meters away from the alley where the mysterious shop was located, but he had not met anyone.

"Ah, right. I just realized I'm in a place like this." In the slum, on the way here, Light finds some street children and homeless people not living.

It is very natural that this area is an area with very high crime.

"Are you lost, son?" Some thugs come and see Light as the prey.

The heavy breathing came out. After all, Light did not think that the delinquents would come to him right after he remembered the possibility of meeting with them.

If they had marked Light since he entered this slum district, it was only natural that they would attack right after Light exited the alley. Aside from Light coming without an escort, he also did not look as strong as the nobles in general.

Some of these reasons are sufficient to underlie their launching of attacks.

"Before that, I wanted to ask you guys." Light did not look intimidated at all, nor did his body show any signs of fear or trembling.

"Huh?" One of the thugs raised his eyebrows.

"Bare you too, son."

The six thugs momentarily kept their distance, their intention of just beating Light to pieces and robbing him of everything he had, turning into murder for Light. For them, it was worth it as compensation for the answer to the question that Light asked.

Light pointed to the dark, rundown alley where he had just come out, "Who is the rundown shopkeeper inside that alley?"

"Hm?" A few thugs looked at each other, no one was aware of any seedy shops opening inside the alley.

"What do you mean, son? There's absolutely nothing there."

"If you want to know, that end of the alley is where we're having fun."

The thugs took out the weapons they had. Short swords, blades, scythes, all of them formed a formation to surround Light from all directions.

"so." Light let out a heavy sigh, however his accumulated body fatigue asked his two eyes to fall asleep immediately, "If you guys pull your weapons back, I'll assume if this incident never happened."

The thugs looked at each other, they only appreciated Light's words as a joke.

"In your dreams, son!"

Everyone from all sides crashing. Each of them pointed their weapons sharp blades. The pent-up desire of each of them screamed, all desirous to see how the boy in front of him was submissive and begging for mercy.

"Eh?"

But that will never happen. The two bandits who were opposite each other felt a strangeness on their bodies. Light's speed could not follow, the sight of the two bandit heads had instantly moved away from where their necks had been.

Such was the difference in strength of a pure-blooded noble with a few well-trained ordinary people. Although Light is unable to cast magic with his original powers, Light is nevertheless a mana-bearing noble.

The other four thugs retreated and kept their distance. Light's movements were completely unable to see them. One thing was certain, just less than a split second, that Light had suddenly unsheathed a shabby sword that had a magic flow on its rusty blade.

"Ah, right. Didn't one of you just yell when the alley I just walked into is where you guys had fun?"

Light stepped closer bit by bit, along with that the thugs also stepped back.

"Ti—no! I never said L—eh?"

With only one person left, Light had marked the thug with the greatest arrogance.

"Wait on! Help u! Tungg—Aaaaarrrgghh!"

The foot that stepped back was slashed. The flow of Mana Light made the sword blade become even sharper. Still, the foot is not cut cleanly, in the cut of the slash there are blackish marks that are rust fragments.

"Ti—no... wait.. please don't do... Aaaarrgghh!"

Thugs' brown eyes reflected off blue shadows. Right in front of his eyes, a rusty sword immediately charged straight towards his head.

Light picks up the collar of the gouged thug's body and drags him into an alley. The loud screams of the thug did not give him the slightest benefit. Soon to pick up, the thug regretted his actions where he saw his target only from the appearance he had.
