BRACKET!
BRACKET!
BRACKET!
The sky turned red, the black clouds covered the vastness of space. Not only Light, Eld and Gennes also believe that Arcadia has used magic on an extraordinary scale.
The thumping of thousands of soldiers sounded louder and louder. Eld and Gennes were slightly intimidated by the approaching presence of the enemy.
"Don't this look like the apocalypse, Young Master?" Eld expressed his opinion towards the atmosphere, but he did not get any reaction that made him a little disappointed.
The conversation ended blankly, the attention of the three focused only on the enemy in front of them.
In a moment of silence, the Arcadia Army stopped its movement. Light, who had never been on the battlefield before, could only guess the circumstances of the textbook he had studied.
"Is this the moment when the supreme generals of the two armies meet?" Light assesses the situation according to what he knows.
"That's right. However, you need not worry, Young Master. This was already a hereditary tradition, assault was forbidden until the two generals returned to their respective armies. And also, when you please, I'll join you as a bodyguard." Eld tries to appease Light, who is a chick on the battlefield.
"If so, humbly, I will reject your offer." Light turned around, leaving his place.
"But.." said Eld objected.
"If I continue like this, I will continue to be in my father's shadow."
"So, I apologize for doubting you." Eld looked down deeply, venting his regret while showing a proud smile.
Thus with Light, a bright smile was painted over his expression. His footsteps looked strong, felt full of confidence.
The twin gates of the border fortress slowly opened increasingly wider. Light's presence felt full of authority because it was supported by his black military clothes that were patterned in gold. Not only that, his mount in the form of a black warhorse flashed as if making it look terrifying. Armed with a sword sheathed on his right hip, Light advanced on his own.
On the other hand, the figure of a mighty general with a giant deer as his mount came out of the ranks of the Arcadia Army.
The silver armor he wore formed a body. A long spear with a blade resembling a sword was on his back. However, he raised his hand while smiling wryly as he looked at Light who advanced alone.
"Go back, leave me alone."
"However, we—" One of his guards shouted objections.
"Do you want to smear my face with dirt?!" Supreme General Arcadia shouted in annoyance, he pointed towards Light who came alone fearlessly, "If he comes without an escort, so will I! Go back, Goddamnit!"
"Yes, Master!" The two bodyguards returned with a heavy sense, they were still unable to refuse their general's orders especially if it was related to self-esteem.
General Arrend Leucs, there's not a single war veteran who doesn't know him. His name has been widespread, one proof if he has any experience of ruffling enemies.
The Corthia Imperial Army also did not escape being a victim of Arrend's violence. Although Corthia had extraordinary strength, it did not mean that they had never suffered defeat in a war.
Each of the top leaders of the two armies walked over to each other. But there is a clear difference between the two. Arrend showed no gaps at all, in contrast to Light who had no experience at all.
"Who are you? I've never seen you before, boy." Arrend brings about a psychological war, he intends to take down Light's mentality before the war begins.
Although he had been convinced of his victory, Arrend wanted a sense of superiority over his success of trampling on the authority of enemy generals who would add to his taste of victory.
"You don't have to say anything obvious, Old Man. You and I both know that you've never seen me before." Light poured kerosene on the burning fire.
"What are you really talking about, boy?" Arrend kept his face smiling, even though his pride was torn to shreds by the impolite words Light gave.
"True, let's condense this formality." In response to that, Arrend's two eyes opened wide.
In his life, Arrend had never met someone as bold as Light.
Was it because Light had never met him and had never felt the real battleground so he had no qualms about him like the other generals?
Or has Light resigned himself to his defeat that he behaved this way?
Arrend doesn't know and he doesn't want to know. After all, Light had ignited his anger as a ferocious beast.
"Light Allain, the First Son of Jade Allain, the current Count of Allain."
"Guahaha!" Arrend laughed out loud, "Your annoying attitude really reminds me of your naive and timid father! I am Arrend Leucs, one of the best generals of Arcadia Kingdom! In fact, the Mothien people have pinned the nickname "Red Devil" because of my ferocity on the battlefield!"
"Then?" Light tilted his head, he was completely unperturbed when his biological father was ridiculed, "Do you think I look like someone who cares about that?"
Arrend was momentarily confused as to how to repay Light's indifference, "Hey, Boy. Is the current empire too weak that they can only send you to fight me?"
"No, Old Man. The empire is already too strong so they sent me—a small fish who has not graduated from Academy—to fight you, a powerful general from a small kingdom who has not even been able to reclaim his territory until now." Light smiled mockingly.
"Damn! Damnit damnit! Damn it, you kid! I will definitely kill and chop you up later!" Arrend turned around, returning towards his troops with mounting annoyance.
"Oh, right, Old Man!" Light called out with a carefree smile. Inevitably, Arrend's self-esteem does not allow him to keep moving so he once again pays attention to Light.
"You should know what's gonna happen if you piss me off more than this, boy!"
"If you want to chop, take off your spear and get a knife! Did your mother never teach you that?" Light covered his mouth that giggled in amusement with the attitude that Arrend showed.
"Well! You're gonna regret this, boy!" Arrend grew increasingly upset, he returned to his army and did not allow anyone to speak to him for a while.
Light looked at it with a bright smile, inversely proportional to his trembling soldiers as they vaguely heard the provocation that Light had done to Arrend.
Light returned to the fortress with a satisfied feeling. Treading the opponent's self-esteem, messing with the brain that is the center of a team, making the confidence he has significantly increased, as well as the belief that Arrend is his first opponent, a figure that was not impossible for Light to defeat.
Strategy, mental, information.
Even though you have hundreds of thousands of personnel and heavy weapons, if you are lacking in those three aspects, your army is nothing but nonsense to me.
