Islam Learning Fasting
19. Nightly

Jengkrik's voice was heard filling the night which now felt lonely, after Sarifuddin came out of the room no longer from them to talk. After spending his Maghrib time sleeping, the clock is now eight o'clock at night. The four are now seen still lying on their respective mattresses.

"Yahoo!!!" ali shouted suddenly making Islam, Christians turned and so did Abirana who immediately looked up.

"Why are you screaming like a possessed person?" ask Abirama.

"Relapse this time," said Christian.

Ali, who was sitting on his bed, rubbed his hair and laid his body back on the bed like a stressed person.

"It's not good if there's no cell phone. My bego guy's cake," he explained.

"Kan emang lo bego" said Islam.

"Emang why? You want to call Amma you?" guess Abirama.

"No dog, I want to watch bokep," he replied to make Islam, Kristian and Abirama who had been worried now snorting annoyed and then returned to their respective activities.

"I feel like my body is limp, like there is no spirit. Bokep is a source of energy for me, so if I don't watch it I can't move."

"Well that's a sangean mah, your brain is too dirty, so it's like that" said Islam who still stared at the bottom of the iron bed occupied by Christianity.

"Lo Islam, how about? I don't think you'd be willing if your phone was taken by the old man."

Islam was silent, he tilted his body so that his face was sad when he remembered Umi was not seen by Ali who looked at him.

"It is unusual" Islam denies.

Ali turned his lips and clicked him.

"Gue wants to smoke too. Tans!" call Ali made Christians who had been staring at the calligraphy of the Qur'an on the wall.

"What?" saith.

"Lo brought a cigarette, right?"

"It's in the bag."

"Cigarette yuk!"

"Eh where can! Mr. Kiyai said he could not smoke," Abirama reminded.

"Emang why the hell? who else would want to hear the old man's orders."

"Be careful when you say that, the grandson is there!" Pointing Christians towards Islam who are still turning their backs on them all.

"Ah, his grandson is not polite continue to not care much less me," said Ali.

"Ah very noisy anyway lo all," annoyed Islam who now rubbed his ears.

"Wah died of our hunger" said Abirama made Islam, Christianity and Ali who immediately turned to look at Abirama who stood in front of a paper containing the rules of pesantren.

"Why, Ram?" ask Kristian.

"It's dinner time we're done."

"How do you mean?" ask Islam who has now sat on the edge of his bed.

"It's a written rule that dinner starts at eight."

Hearing that made Kristian quickly look at the watch in his hand.

"Now it will be nine o'clock at night" said Kristian.

"Loh means we all don't eat dong" said Ali.

"Dead our dong," said Islam.

"Udah wants time to sleep" Abirama said.

"It's very similar to the rules," said Ali.

"Well, the name also we hitchhiking live here means we have to obey the rules that are here," explained Abirama who is still staring hard at the rules.

"Lo don't be too obedient to the rules in the pesantren! Remember what religion!" ali reminded.

Their conversation stopped when the door was opened by Sarifuddin made everyone turn to look at Sarifuddin who looked smiling.

"Assalamualaikum," he said, greeting and then closed the door.

There was no reply from the four of them. They just stared seriously at the direction where Sarifuddin was stepping. Sarifuddin stepped towards his bed which was halfway between Ali and Abirama's multi-story bed on the left and the Christian and Islamic multi-storey bed on the right.

Sarifuddin took off his cocoa shirt, sarong and peci and replaced it with a regular T-shirt and black sarong. Sarifuddin then lay on his bed after reciting the prayer while Islam, Kristian, Abirama and Ali were just silent staring at every movement of the body of the man who always smiled widely. The two eyes of Sarifuddin closed to make the four look at each other, is the man in brown skin already covered? That easy?

"Have you slept?" tanya Islam who sat on the edge of his mattress facing towards Sarifuddin whose eyes had been closed tightly.

"No, yet" he answered.

"Certainly? Why close your eyes?" ask Islam again.

Sarifuddin's left eye opened staring at Islam who was still staring at him.

"Prepare to sleep."

Hearing that, Ali shook her head and put her body on the bed.

"I am equally santri here, it could be arranged the same rules in this pesantren," said Ali.

"What danger does that mean?" asked Abirama who was lying on her back, propping her head up like a mother nursing her child on a bed.

"Well the danger of punishment, later we all know if we have seen," explained Sarifuddin.

"Oh yeah by the way you haven't introduced yourself, whose name are you?" ask Islam.

Sarifuddin smiled and opened his eyes and extended his right hand towards Islam.

"Include my name, Sarifuddin, may be called Uddin. I'm 17 years old, I'm the seventh of seven children"

"Strong rowdy also bokap lo, hehehe," Ali cut and laughed giggling.

"My goal is to be a member of the House of Representatives"

"Will be a member of the House of Representatives? The people are all corrupt," said Kristian.

"Want to change the views of the people" replied Sarifuddin.

"It's also cool of you, too" said Kristian.

"I am from Makassar, you know ji to?"

"South Sulawesi huh?" ask Abirama.

"Iye," Sarifuddin replied with a smile.

"My name is Islam, I-" said Islam who now shakes Sarifuddin's hand.

"Haji Kiyai's grandson, I know ji" replied Sarifuddin.

Islam sighed and took off his hands and lay down on his bed.

"My knowledge as the old man's grandson is that you know too?"

"Oh know once, every day Haji Kiyai sir is just talking about us."

"We? I did it, not lo!" says Islam.

"Hah, this is indeed the language of the Makasaar people, if our word means you," he explained.

"Any lo language," said Islam.

"It is not me who is strange, it is strange who makes the language," replied Sarifuddin.

"My name is Christian, I am a sundanese, greetings," said Kristian as he extended his hand which was greeted quickly by Sarifuddin.

"If I am Abirama, I am a Balinese but since college I live in Jakarta, I sniffed" he explained, shaking hands.

"If I were Ali..."

Sarifuddin nodded while shaking hands with Ali.

"Ali who?"

"Ali baba, yah Ali! Who do you think my name is?" nyoloth Ali.

"Oh so Akhi's name is Ali baba?"

Ali gawked, after the position of their hands was released Ali immediately scratched his head that did not understand.

"You mean, who said my name was Ali baba who the hell?" annoyed Ali.

"So we said it ourselves."

"Lo if a lot of bacots, your eyes brushed me giggling lo." Show Ali off in annoyance.

Brucks

Brucks

Brucks

Their conversation came to a halt as the door was knocked hard enough to make them turn their head to look at the door.

"It's sleep time!!!" yelled someone outside the door.

"Dog, who's yelling?" annoyed Ali.

"It was not a dog, it was Ustad Shuaib," answered Sarifuddin who then stepped up and lay on his bed.

Not long after the lights in the room died into the atmosphere of the room became pitch black.

"Tock off the lights?" ask Islam.

"Not filled yet" guess Ali.

"It's time to go to bed, so all the lights in the pesantren have been turned off directly at the center" he explained.

"Which center?" ask Kristian.

"Haji Kiyai's room" he replied.

Now the atmosphere becomes quiet when the voice of the singing ringing cry accompanies the silence tonight. After their conversation, none of them spoke.
