Chapter.40 Rejection

Kelly could not believe what she saw, her face paled as Ivona smiled happily to witness Joshua's helplessness. His eyes were perfectly rounded looking at Ivona as if possessed by a demon.

"What do you see?" ivona asked as her eyes turned to look at the flabbergasted Kelly.

"You can't do it to me" Kelly replied backtracking.

"You won't be able to hurt me, because my father is a deputy director. My father wouldn't let me go if anything happened to me, he could get you out of this school, too" Kelly said.

Ivona laughed at Kelly's threat. "Do you think a madman understands your father's position? Crazy people never fear anything, not even your father owns this school" Ivona replied. Ivona's words are no longer disputed by Kelly. The girl who had shouted to see Ivona taught in this tragic way, no longer had the courage. In his eyes was only a tremendous fear of Ivona, the crazy girl.

"Please stop, don't try to get close!" sergeant Kelly stammered, as Ivona continued to cut the distance.

"Don't be afraid, I'll treat you differently. You're a girl anyway, so I'll do it gently." Ivona's smile looks even scarier in the eyes of Kelly and her friends.

"Look around, your face is pretty too" praised Ivona who sounded terrible.

Reflexes, Kelly immediately covered both cheeks with her hands. "What are you gonna do?" kelly asked as Ivona leaned over and picked up the broken bottle.

"I've painted someone's skin with a scalpel, but I've never done it with broken glass. I was curious, wondering if the result would be just as beautiful, or if the broken glass would be more interesting?" Ivona played a really good role in being a crazy psychopath.

"You're crazy!" disgrace Kelly.

"You don't need to remind me of my insanity all the time, because I still remember this crazy me." Ivona laughs again, while Kelly is getting scared.

"I-iv ..," call Beny with great effort.

Hearing Beny's heavy voice, Ivona turned her head. He saw Beni's breathing that began to be irregular, the look on his face paled, like he was sick. Ivona realizes that something is wrong is happening to Beny. He immediately abandoned his pleasure with Kelly, and immediately approached the fat man.

Kelly and the others did not waste a chance as Ivona's focus turned to the monster man. They immediately escaped from the terrible hallway.

"Go, go" Beny refused as Ivona approached her. Beny doesn't want Ivona to consider herself a monster because she sees him in bad shape.

Beny's body immediately froze. Beny lowered his head, not daring to look at what kind of gaze Ivona threw at him, for no one dared to look at him while he was relapsing, even his parents were scared and shunned him when he was at his worst.

"Say, what do you need. I'll help you" insisted Ivona.

Beny still couldn't believe it, Ivona was still waiting for him and not running away like the others. He is fixated on Ivona's unusual attitude.

"You should seek treatment if you are sick" Ivona said.

Beny was still silent with Ivona's treatment that seemed to worry him. Now the fat man dared to look at Ivona. Looking at the expression of the girl who offered her help. There was no fear or condescension in Ivona's eyes, the girl just looked a little lazy. Maybe because Beny didn't answer the question.

Impatient with Beny who continues to be silent, Ivona took the initiative to get Beni. Beny gasped slightly as Ivona's hand slipped under her arm. Slowly and carefully, Ivona led Beny to the infirmary.

"I'm sorry" said Ivona, who kept walking to cover Beny.

"Other times if there's any problem, you can tell me. I'll help you, " continued Ivona.

Beny was touched by Ivona's words. Never before has anyone made her feel so valued as a friend.

Eventually, Ivona took Beny to the medical room. Ivona handed Beny to the medics there, and left him outside.

He recalled that today there was a conference meeting with Marcus' company. Ivona immediately pulled out her phone and sent a message to the computing office if she couldn't attend today's meeting. After that, he went back to the health room. The medic standing guard today was a female doctor. The name tag on her chest read the name Sandra Kohler, the young doctor was quite charming with her brownish red hair and blue irises.

"How is he doing?" ask Ivona about Sandra.

The doctor stared into Beny's treatment room for a moment and turned to Ivona. "His condition is not good enough, he needs further treatment."

"Is it that bad?" ask Ivona again.

"Yes" Sandra replied with a nod.

"Can I see him?"

"Of course, you can cheer him up." Sandra leaves Ivona with Beny in the treatment room.

Ivona opened the treatment room carefully. He saw Beny lying weakly on the treatment bed. Ivona picked up the bench and sat down next to Beny. The fat man noticed Ivona's presence beside him.

"I'm sorry, it's been a bother to you" said Beny.

Ivona pulled straight her lip line. "No problem."

For a moment, silence filled between the two. Beny felt awkward with the presence of a girl nearby. He who was always considered a monster, never had this kind of closeness with a girl. Ivona was the first. This girl beside him had made him recognize a new taste in his heart.

Ivona, who treated him sincerely as a fellow human, made him want to get closer to the girl.

"I-iv ...," call Beny carefully.

"Yes" replied Ivona.

"Thank you for everyone. I'm glad I got to know you. Honestly, you're the first student at this school who didn't look me in the eye. You're different."

Ivona only smiled faintly in response, because for her nothing should be humbled just because someone has something different, especially if it is a disease. For he knew, it was not the man's desire to be sick, but the will of God that made him so. And Ivona is not a person with a narrow mind to demean others because of the disease that the person has.

"Iv .. if I may, I want to be closer to you" Beny said timidly.

Ivona is shocked to hear Beny's wish. He is sincere in helping someone, but that does not mean wanting to be closer to the person he helps. Ivona did not want to say rude to Beny who was sick, for fear of affecting his psychological condition and would certainly make the condition of the fat man was not good.

"Think about your health first" replied Ivona, then left the treatment room.

Seeing Ivona's departure with a look of dislike due to her request, Beny realized that it was the girl's refusal. Beny sat on the treatment bed with a grim looking gaze. Thinking of Ivona's rejection of him earlier at the same time regretting his rash attitude for expressing his wishes.
