La Luna (Bias Asa)

La Luna (Bias Asa)
Chapter 14

A few years passed...

"Good morning Mama." In her signature style, a little girl of about five years old barged in after her father opened the door to her private room.

The beautiful little girl had round brown eyes with wavy hair on her back. Tight eyelashes, black eyebrows like a crescent moon and porcelain-white skin.

"Morning, Honey. Oh my, Mama woke up late!" Luna still rubbed her eyes. His body ached so much that he could not get up this morning.

"You sick, honey?" asked Adam, who was Luna's husband. This blonde-haired man with ash eyes stuck his palm on his wife's forehead.

"Warm, it must be because last night you helped me with my work. I told you to take a break first but you didn't listen." Adam nagged typical mothers who worry about their children.

He always has been.

The man cursed himself who could not take care of his loved ones.

"I'm fine, don't worry." Luna calmed the husband by rubbing his shoulder.

"You're always like that." Adam said softly, the man was upset because the wife was an independent woman who never wanted to bother him. Even Luna always helped finish some of her work.

Even so, Adam helped Luna lean on their bed in a half-sitting position. And after that glared at the woman as if angry with a small child.

Luna was used to it, Adam was always attentive even from the moment they first met and had not become husband and wife like now.

"Daddy, Mama's sick?" ask the little girl who just turned her head around because she was confused to listen to her parents' words.

"Yes, Honey. Mama's sick but Mama's wayward." Adam whispered to the little girl.

"No, Honey. Daddy's! Don't find a friend to defend you!"

Adam answered yes, and Luna answered no. The little girl was getting confused.

"Daddy, I'm fine," Luna said, pressuring her husband to approve his request.

"Mama's sick, honey. But it's okay. Let Daddy take care of him. Elea goes to school, yeah. We'll see Alex's uncle and Ofelia's aunt."

The little girl nodded in understanding and obeyed her father's words.

"When Elea gets home, Mama will be healed" promised Adam to his little daughter.

Elea came out of her parents' room. At the door, Aunt Ofelia was already waiting.

"Let's love we're getting ready" Ofelia's aunt took the little girl.

After the death of the two, Adam took the porridge that was brought by his aunt Ofelia.

"Eat first so you're powered." Without waiting for Luna's answer, the man thrust the porridge in a spoon he was ready to feed.

"Emmm...." Luna swallowed the porridge that her husband had fed her. A warm feeling spread in his throat.

"Bring, Honey. Let me eat it myself. You'll be late."

Luna who leaned her body half-sitting, immediately encouraged the husband to immediately clean up because the clock was pointed at 7 am.

"It's okay, aren't I the boss? My wife is sick so I can be a little late" Adam said to himself.

"Give a good example to your employees Mr. Adam Walton," Luna wrote.

"Alright, Honey. If you're professional, you're number one." The man kissed Luna, then left his wife after wiping the top of his head affectionately.

Luna stirred the porridge in the bowl her husband left behind. His memory came back a few years ago.

He only focused on his education and increasing the expansion of the new company he started with his father.

Luna, who in her new country is known to be a cold personality, was introduced by Ellard to Adam whose career was brilliant even though the company owned by her own father was on the verge of bankruptcy.

Adam did not work for his father's company. He chose to start his career from scratch by working at one of the leading companies in Canada.

The blond man who married her four years ago was indeed kind. And always be patient with Luna under any circumstances.

Even Adam and his family accepted Luna as she was, and loved her as sincerely as the brown-eyed beauty felt many flaws.

"Darling, are you daydreaming? Even your porridge was just stirring you up since." Adam came out of the bathroom with wet hair, he approached the wife he saw unfocused at the moment.

"Hurry up for the bath?" Luna blinked in surprise.

"It wasn't me who took a long bath, but you were daydreaming from then on" Adam said. "You want me to steam?" Still wearing a towel, Adam sat down next to Luna.

"Prepare and go to work, baby. Papa must need you more in the office."

"Does my wife not need me right now?" Adam's face was disappointed.

"It's not. I'm really okay, honey. I'll be better soon." Luna reassured her husband by holding her hand.

"Do you want me to stop by your office to replace you today? Papa must have understood it because you're sick, honey. Besides, I'll come right away if you need me in the office" Adam said to his wife.

Not once did Adam offer himself that, if the wife was ill. But Luna always refused. The woman knew Adam was most reliable than herself in the office, she did not want to trouble her husband.

"No. I'm gonna finish this porridge and take some medicine and I'm gonna get well soon, honey. I just need to tell Emma if I'm coming a little late" Luna refused.

"Call me if you're not strong, I'll come straight to pick you up. Watch out if you choose to go home alone when you're sick like this!" threaten Adam's.

"Yes, Mr. Walton. All advice is embedded here." Luna pointed at her head. "I wouldn't dare."

"Okay, honey, I'm getting ready. And finish your breakfast in the morning." Adam left after gently rubbing the top of his wife's head.

"Sorry Pa, I came late. Luna had a fever this morning." Adam was half an hour late, and Ellard was even waiting in his room.

"Luna's sick?"

"Yes, Pa. Actually it's my fault, last night he helped me complete the analysis of Mr.'s project. Albert. Maybe he was exhausted and I didn't notice him" Adam said.

"Luna is a hard worker. And he was also too hard on himself. You should pay more attention to it, always remind to keep the break. Papa wants to take your grandchildren away from you" Ellard said.

"Yes, Pa. But there's also Elea."

"Of course, he was my first granddaughter. And you've been married four years but have no children. Don't you want it?"

"I want it so badly, Pa. But I don't want to burden Luna. Let everything go as it should."

"Papa thought that way too. But Papa just doesn't want your family_"

"Papi and Mami never bothered about it, Pa. They love Luna like their own children."

"I believe that. Thank you for your sincere affection for my daughter." Ellard patted the daughter-in-law's shoulder. His heart was relieved to hear the words spoken by Adam.
