After we had dinner we began to take turns keeping watch, Noel and I had time at the end, at least now three hours before sunrise.
Making sure everything was okay was something we both made sure of.
Noel put his hand on his sword against the small movements coming out of the bushes, I followed and hoped that something did not jump on us.
Before long it was a giant snake whose head rose a few meters above us before falling to the ground.
"What's going on?"
I hurriedly examined the snake, and found some wounds caused by scratches and bites.
"Noel wake everyone up, we're leaving now."
Understanding what I said, Noel immediately ran towards the cave.
This snake had clearly led the wolves to us, just waiting for the time that they would arrive to catch us.
Yue used light magic to guide everyone out of the forest, Tora memorized the whole ins and outs of this place and she could bring everyone to the nearest city.
Just running away is still not enough there should be people holding them back because I will stay with Kila and the rest move.
"Please return safely you two."
"Don't worry mrs, we'll be fine."
After their departure Kila's previously excited face became lethargic.
"While I'm saying it's a very low chance we can live."
"Like that," I replied casually then continued.
"At least for me, I'm just asking you to set a trap. The snake we're gonna make perfect bait."
"That means?"
"Well, only I will hold them back, you are an expert in following them you can definitely meet Yue and the others."
"If it means you're willing to risk yourself then I won't run away either, at least if we die we can be together later in the afterlife."
I don't think I'm going to die that easy, so let's fight to the very end.
The howls of wolves began to sound mutually authenticated, only the howls are usually heard but more gripping.
Just as the pack of wolves had sprung up, they approached towards the snake carcass. We watched from a distance and when they stepped on a mine from Kila's trap they exploded violently.
It attracted a lot of wolves to pop up, some sniffed and started running towards the direction where Yue was taking all the residents away.
As for me to just let it go, I threw the torch from my hand it fell on the grass before it finally spread out quickly making the path of fire that was not easy to pass.
The wolves fell silent and turned their eyes towards us.
"They're very angry."
"Obviously, before the leader shows up we'll take it all down."
"Do it."
I pulled my sword.
Along with the cry I lunged forward, even though we failed we had stalled a lot of time.
Burning forests is not justified, but it is a very effective way.
I slashed two of them through my sword, when they were thrown one wolf managed to bite my wrist, it was easy for me to stick my sword into his head before turning towards the other pack of wolves.
On the other side Kila was fighting with her physical strength, she smashed her ground before jumping towards me against each other.
He kicked the approaching wolves, and I also slashed at the other side. The wolves fell silent then retreated just like that.
"Did they give up?" ask Kila and I answer.
"Something bad is coming soon, I'm sure."
