Love Affair

Love Affair
PART 12'S

"Where has he not been seen since?" asked Bayu because he did not see Raya after dancing with Javier.

Likewise with Defin which has not been seen since. Whether Raya is with Defin or going with Javier.

"So I saw Raya and Javier get out of here. They will go on to the next session. A party like this is not their taste" Tessa said

"We go home now" Bayu came out of the frenetic atmosphere of his business partner's birthday celebration.

"Now? You're right, we haven't even greeted important people. We haven't been here long."

"I'm not feeling well."

Bayu calls Defin to pick him up immediately. About a minute waiting for Defin to arrive at the hotel lobby where Bayu and Tessa are waiting.

"Have you taken Raya home yet?" Ask Bayu

"Yes, sir. He asked me to take him home first."

"Why did you come home. You were supposed to disappear on me so Javier could take her. My plan is to have their matchmaking fail."

"Don't impose that ridiculous desire on Raya" Bayu said

"It's time to get married. Until now, she had no lover. Let alone boy friend girlfriend does not have. I want him to get a quick fix."

"Then after she gets married, what do you get?"

"At least I can make up for my mistakes first who kept turning a blind eye when brother often beat him because of brother's mental illness. If you remember that time, I think very much the same."

Bayu smiled obliquely at Tessa's words. Regretting now would be useless.

"You're just regretting it now? Where were you when she cried begging us to take her back then. It's obvious there's a fear of staying with your brother, but you insist that your brother is innocent."

"Then from that, now I ask him to stay with us and I can make amends for what I did first."

"The woman treated Raya like an animal! Locked it in a filthy warehouse and it's dark for days without eating and drinking."

"That's the past. Now that my brother is dead and Raya inherited all of my brother's wealth so it's worth what my brother did. I think Raya also forgot about the incident, so why are we even arguing about this."

"You forgot he had severe depression until he had to get a handler from a psychologist. He also tried to commit suicide. You know what the cause is? It's because of the trauma that your brother instilled in his soul since childhood. Until now your brother always comes in his dreams, you say Raya has forgotten that? He never forgot a single moment of his suffering!"

Defin fell silent at the quarrel of his two masters. Every now and then he sees Bayu and Tessa through the spy. Define was quite surprised to hear the story of the past Kingdom. He had thought Raya was a girl who was abundant in affection from her family.

While working for Bayu. Defin is not so familiar with Raya because Raya is only living with them this time. At the time of the family event, Defin never met Raya.

"Already! I should how? Everything has happened, Raya alone has a weak mentality. She should have been happy to be just an adopted child but a sole heir. Even a portion of your company's stock belongs to my sister's husband who will belong to her as well."

"Talking to you is useless."

"Yes, I'm useless so don't talk to me anymore!" sentak Tessa is upset.

They were silent even when they got home. Tessa first got into the house while Bayu was still in the car with Defin.

"What happened to Raya?"

"Raya wants to go home quickly because she's tired, sir."

"Something happened at the party?"

"I don't think so, sir."

Defin chose not to tell the incident a few hours ago, if Raya wanted Bayu to know he could say it straight away.

Bayu passed through the tightly closed room of Raya. There was no visible light from inside his room, it was likely that Raya was asleep. Bayu chooses to go into his room which he occupies with Tesss.

Meanwhile Raya is still awake. His eyes were praying, his head felt so heavy from crying for too long.

Raya got up from her bed immediately. Replace sleepwear with plain shirts and long jeans. Put some lipstick on her lips and then out of her room.

He walked so fast that no one would see him. While in the doorway of the house his steps came to a halt.

"Where are you going?" He looked towards the voice.

"It's none of your business!"

"I just want to breathe some air, before he wakes up I'll be back. I'd be very grateful if you shut up and just assume you didn't see me."

Defin let Raya out of the gate and Defin back into the main house.

He goes into the house to retrieve the car keys and chases Raya.

"Lake in."

"I want to go alone" said Raya who is still on foot ignoring Defin.

"One thing you should know, my job is very much if you don't come back in the morning then all my work will fall apart from having to look for you."

Follow the command of Defin. Raya also knew Defin would not leave even if he pleaded. After all it's too risky to go without a direction alone in the middle of the night like this.

"Where are you going?"

"Whatever makes my chest not tight."

For two hours they just walked along the road aimlessly. Splitting the sunyinya night in silence. Defin stopped his car in a field quite far from the city crowd.

"Get out."

Raya sighed and followed Defin out of the car then they both sat in the front of the car.

"I used to be just a pathetic kid, with a dirty, dirty muddy outfit. Every day I observe Mr. Bayu's office. I always remember when he came and went home. When he just got out of his car I immediately cleaned his car glass with my shirt. At first he kicked me out even the driver Bayu once threw me away but tomorrow morning I come and do the same. Whether upset or giving up, Bayu allows me to do that every day. He used to give me money but I always turned him down over and over."

Raya was still speechless not wanting to talk to Defin or respond to his outpouring of heart.

"Then he asked me what I really wanted?"

Defin was silent for a moment, sadness in his eyes.

"I answered, I want to be like him. When I heard my answer, Mr. Bayu laughed and told me not to see him again."

"Why?" Tanya Raya lirih

"Because I want everyone to look down respectfully wherever I am, to welcome with a smile not with a scorn or a contemptuous look. I'm a human being but they think I'm like a fly that spreads disease."

"What is your past story to me. I'm not interested."

He buried his face on both knees. At the moment he did not want to hear about other people's problems.

"I still wait for him every day and do the same. Until one day he took me somewhere. Orphanages. I also repeatedly ran away from the orphanage and met him. Irritatedly he yelled at me 'stay there if you want to be like me', I obeyed his orders every day I waited for him to come but, uh, I did, until I graduated high school he never met me. Only his man comes every month to make a donation."

Defin laid his body using both hands to refute his head. Look at the night sky filled with stars.

"Lying down your feelings will improve a little when you look at the sky but if you keep your head down then the tears will drop."

Raya raised her head and looked up at the stars. Then, lie down next to Defin.

"Still want to hear my story?"

Raya just kept quiet. Defin glanced at him at a glance then resumed his story.

"After graduating from school I worked as a janitor in a large company. Until one year I worked there, I just found out if the owner is Mr. Bayu. I was so happy to meet my angel. Slowly I entered her room, she asked me what my wishes were and my answer remained the same. Then he asked again, what is the benefit for him if granting my wish. I answered. He could use me for anything."

"He gave you the position now?"

"Of course not, I had to go through a lot of trouble to achieve it. It's not easy to get trust from her."

"What about you?"

"I don't have such a sad story."

Defin sighed. He understands that Raya has not been able to tell him about her past, which Defin says suffers more than living on the streets.

"Thank God if you have a wonderful life. After I told you this I felt relieved. Maybe you can do it too."

"For me then and now it remains the same. I don't even have an interest in tomorrow."
