Marry me, Brother

Marry me, Brother
The Philosophers Plato and Socrates

Late at night, two grown men sat in a family room with two cups of black coffee and a variety of snacks on the table. The two men appeared to be so awkward with each other after the beating incident a few days ago. Yes, the two men were Dawn and Dion, tonight was the first time they met again after the incident that night.

"If Zean were still alive, he would be lecturing us right now" Fajar said, breaking the silence between them.

"He must be telling us he's stupid" said Dion, the two men recalling his friend who died four years ago.

"Is my punch too hard?" asked Fajar while looking at Dion's face which still left bruises there.

"Slightly," Dion touched his cheek as he answered Dawn's question.

"That's a reply because you've hurt my niece!"

"Yes, I know and I regret it," Dion really regretted his actions, the man looked down in lethargy.

"Yon, you know the philosopher Plato?" ask Fajar to his best friend.

"Hem, he's a Greek philosopher and mathematician right? Why are you asking that?" Dion asked with a frown because the Dawn does not normally speak of a Philosopher.

"One day Plato sat down with his teacher Socrates, and Plato asked his teacher what love is and how can I find it?" the words of Dawn began to tell the story of Plato who had been read in one of the books of Philosophers by Plato.

"What did the teacher answer?" Dion seems to be curious about the story told by Fajar.

"Socrates answered, there is a vast field of wheat there. Walk you and, without recoil, take one twig. If you find the twig you find most amazing, it means you have found love."

"Plato walked, not long after he returned empty-handed with nothing."

"Then Socrates asked again, why did you not bring any twigs?"

"Do you know what Plato's answer is?" ask Fajar and Dion just shook his head.

"I can only carry one, and when I walk I cannot back down. Actually I've found the most amazing, but I don't know if there's anything more amazing up ahead, so I didn't take the twig. As I continued to walk further, I realized that the branches I found were not as good as the twigs, so I did not take a stick in the end."

Dion rubbed his face, beginning to understand the purpose of the Dawn telling the story of the Philosopher Plato. "What else did Socrates say?" ask Dion again, he wants to know the end of the story passed by Plato.

"Yes that's love. The more love is sought, the less it is found. Love is in the depths of the heart, when you can resist more desires and expectations. When there is an excess of hope and desire for love, what is obtained is emptiness. Nothing is gained, and nothing can be reversed, and time cannot be reversed. Accept love for what it is!" the word Dawn ends a brief account of the conversation between the Philosopher Plato and his teacher.

"Can I turn around and pursue my love? I don't want to be like the philosopher Plato, I don't want to live in regret for moving forward, I want to chase him and reach for him" Dion said with a sad face, he no longer wants to live in regret for letting go of Arum.

"Of course you can, you are not the Philosopher Plato, so you can and have the right to turn around and reach for that amazing twig" Fajar patted his friend's shoulder, saying, if you think again it is better for Arum to be with Dion because he knows Dion very well, and if Dion dares to hurt his nephew, Dawn just has to beat him up again like yesterday.

Amidst their conversation, the door opened and featuring Arum with her tired face, the girl stepped into the room and passed the two men who had been staring at her since.

"I'll support you, go after it!" dawn said, the man twitched his chin to the niece, hinting to Dion for the man to come after her.

Dion nodded steadily, the man moved from his seat and pursued Arum, he would not remain silent, he did not want his story to be like the philosopher Plato who did not get his amazing twig.

"Rum wait!" hold down Dion as Arum closes the door.

"What's wrong, I'm tired, don't bother me!" replied Arum indifferently.

Unexpectedly, Dion suddenly sat down in front of Arum, both his hands holding his knees and his head bowing.

"Sister, what are you doing?" arum asked with a choked voice, the girl could not believe that Dion would be standing before her. "Wake up, don't be like this!" he added in a half-whispering voice, Arum worried about making a noise at home.

"I'm so sorry, I'm stupid, I just realized that I really love you!" he said still with his head down.

Arum rolled his eyes lazily. "You're either apologizing or showing off your foreign language skills" Arum said, prompting Dion to raise his head.

"I'm proposing to you, will you marry me?" dion said while removing the ring from his jacket pocket, the man then pointed the diamond ring in front of Arum's face.

Arum was still stuck in his place, instead of Dion begging to apologize instead the man proposed to him, it felt Arum wanted to scream at that moment, but the punishment for Dion was not over, Arum wanted to see how far Dion had fought for him.

"I'm sorry I'm not interested" replied Arum with a face made as flat as possible. After saying the rejection sentence, Arum closed the door very loudly making Dion jump in shock.

"I will not attack" cried Dion from behind the door.

While Arum was still standing behind the door and smiling triumphantly. "Sorry brother, I just want to see how much seriousness you'll love me."

SERIATE....
