Mom, I Want School
CHAPTERS 15. UNCHANGED

1 Week Later....

The days are so fast passing, since that day I really tried to be patient in every condition but, it was not easy. I believe that a patience will still produce a better result than I did.

The wind that blew this morning hit my body as I sat on a large rock not far from the Chinese wooden tree that is said to be called the tree of heaven.

I also do not know why this tree is called the tree of heaven but some say that this tree cannot die and I believe in it. This Chinese tree is not easy to die for example with this tree that is right behind me whose leaves protect me from the heat of the morning sun.

This huge tree had somehow been burned trying to be destroyed yet, still this tree still grew even more dense leaves than usual.

Both my eyes settled around trying and hoping the figure of my friends came to play like in the usual day. I looked up at the sky above, the figure of the sun giving off a hot light, making me sure that the time came for them to play. The usual way if the sun has almost been above their heads has come but now the sun really seems to have been on the crown and they have not all arrived.

I try to stay and be patient waiting for their presence. Today is Monday, it's time for play to be part of the obligation every morning. I took a deep breath and turned to the left and right and their figures never appeared.

"Have they all forgotten to play this morning or have they moved on to another playground?" ask me myself.

Now a question comes to my mind. Sometimes I scratch the part of my head that feels itchy is very boring if I have to wait a long time in this place.

A black motorcycle belonging to Uncle Santoso stopped right in front of me. I looked at the smiling Uncle Santoso looking at me with a slightly bewildered face.

"What are you doing there Ari?" asked Mr. Santoso who made me rise straight from the big rock that I had been sitting on.

"Ari is waiting for the other friends uncle, today Ari wants to play with them," I replied with a smile on my lips.

"Playing?"

"If you want to play with your friends then just go home 'cause they're all at school."

Hearing the reply from Uncle Santoso managed to make my lost smile slowly turn flat without a real expression.

"Today is their first day of school so this morning they won't come if you want to play with them then just wait for 10:00 or maybe 11:00 they take a long time to study."

After saying that phrase Uncle Santoso drove his motor back down the sloping hills towards the river bank leaving me who was now staring at him away.

Again and again I let out a long sigh exhaling through the end of my lips that opened a little. I turned back to look towards the house Ami who looks empty hope Ami and other friends ran towards me and invite me to play as usual but it seems like today has changed. I even just realized that the place where I always play with friends is now becoming silent to tell me myself.

Everything seems to have changed 90°! it's true that I didn't make it up that I actually said it in real terms somehow my world is now quiet. the view that I now see is that the structure that has passed through the figure of myself who is trying to accept the reality of this change has taken me away from the word happy.

Again and again I looked up again at the sky that was almost blocked by the leaves of a Chinese wood tree. I took a sip of my salivary as if hesitating to say this to the Lord who was up there.

"God now I'm the only one who doesn't go to school."

"Ari hopes Ari can go to school next year."

After saying that, I sat down on the rock. Both of my eyes turned towards the bottom of the tree where I was always playing. The sound of laughter that always adorned the place was now gone, silent as if it had been swallowed up by the earth. It should be me who plays first but I believe playing alone is not cool.

The place is now completely quiet.
