Mom, I Want School

Mom, I Want School
7. 12 O'CLOCK

...✏️✏️✏️...

The sound of the truck vehicle rang out again and again the round of the huge tire managed to shake the ground. I don't know how many times I woke up from my sleep disturbed by the crossing of sand trucks passing in front of the house that shook the ground.

The sunlight that pierced through the wall crevice infiltrated in and dazzled both of my eyes. The sunlight really blinded my eyes and managed to wake me up from sleep.

I sat on the carpet scratching my hair that was not too itchy. I yawned wide and wiped my sleepy eyes.

I paused for a moment to collect my life before finally deciding to get up and stand in front of the window staring at the scene that I always see every day, yes of course the vehicles passing by

I folded my hands together, putting my chin over the folds of the hand I had placed on the edge of the window that had been opened, my head moved following the movement of the car that passed in front of the house until it finally disappeared after turning a corner.

Once again I was amazed at the river not far from my home. Every day the trucks always take the sand and rocks but never spend the sand there as well as small rocks construction equipment

The sunlight this morning was so intensely blazing, moving up with time making the day even brighter. The birds were flying I could see it when I looked up at the sky and the air was warm this morning. The sun is so warm when it hits the skin.

Early in the morning I was in the river on a big rock, wiping my body with bar soap and a little shampoo two days ago for hair that was already dirty with dust.

The sound of a cow bell rang and as a result I turned to look for a moment at Mr. Santoso who pulled some of his cows to cross the river to the grassland across. The herd there is quite long and thrives because the field there is rarely placed livestock.

"Shu!!!" shouted Mr. Santoso as the calf who was at the back out of the lane, separated by the time of parent.

Mr. Santoso looked panicked, I could see the panicked look on his face. How could he not panic if the cow moved out of the lane and it was possible that the calf would drown if it passed by the side of the river not far from him.

Seeing Santoso's overwhelmed sir keeps me from staying silent. I got up and ran in shorts.

"Yes drive in the back, Ari!" shouted Mr. Santoso who saw my arrival.

Actually this is not the first time I helped Mr. Santoso to drive the calf away to follow the mother cow.

"Shu! Shu!" throw me out while moving both my hands and throw him away.

Unknowingly I was on the other side of the river, the calves I had driven out had run into a field.

"Wait on! Wait there and let's cross the river together!" said Mr. Santoso while turning his back on me.

I'm nagging, I'm nodding, yes, I am also quite afraid if I have to cross by myself because a few months ago there was a child who was almost the same age as me who drowned in this river even though it was quite far from this river but still to me it was pretty scary.

"Wait here Ari! I tie my brooms first, yeah!"

I nodded with a slight smile and then Mr. Santoso stepped towards the cow. He pulled a long rope and stuck an iron into the field, pounding it with stone until the iron was firmly stuck.

I pulled out some grass, threw it in any direction to spend my time while occasionally staring at Mr. Santoso who was still busy with his cow.

Somehow Mr. Santoso really likes to herd cows but said Ami, the son of Santoso every cow he sells will get a lot of money. I often wish that if I also had a cow like Santoso's, a kindly rich man, sometimes Santoso's sir would also give me a little money.

Mr. Santoso sat down near me and rubbed his forehead after tiring enough to tie his cows.

"Today I didn't see you sign up for school."

"My father didn't come to school, sir."

"Why not come? Then you went to school today?"

I smiled and nodded slowly.

"I don't know either, sir my mother said today it would be seen if today I enrolled in school then I would go to school but if not-"

"Ari really wants a school like Ami, sir."

"Yes yesterday I registered. I also met with Ririn's parents and Cai they're going to school too."

"Then if you want to enroll in school then you should go home now. You take a shower and you go home tell your mom that registration is only until 12:00 after passing from that then the registration will be closed. Come home soon!"

Both of my eyes were round hearing it made my heart flutter, meaning school enrollment would be closed soon if the clock had shown a passing of 12 o'clock.

"Closed at 12, sir?"

"Yes, now hurry home and call your mother to go to school!" the door made me nod and then get up and run but, just a few steps I stopped.

I looked back at pskt Santoso who looked confused.

"Why?"

I smiled a little, scratched my head and said, "May Mr Santoso accompany me across? I'm afraid of drowning."

Mr. Santoso immediately laughed, he got up and walked up to me.

After helping me cross the river I ran fast towards the house even my bucket was blown away as I ran so fast. I opened the door without saying a word of greeting and ran to find the figure of the mother at home.

I stepped towards the empty room quiet and as clean as it was, there was no mother there not to get there.

"Sme!" I shouted so loud.

"What?"

"Where's my friend?"

"Mac in the back."

Hearing that shout I ran towards the kitchen and my smile glared at the figure of the mother who was busy stirring the rice that was almost boiling.

"Sme!" call me again.

My mother stopped the movement of her hand stirring the rice with a wood. Supporting my waist, looking at me with a slightly annoyed look.

"What's wrong? Why yell?"

"Emak, today's mom so, right go to school to enroll? Mr. Santoso said today is the last registration, after 12 hours the registration will be closed."

"Come, our mother is gone! We'll be late" asked me, who was so impatient.

The look on my mother's face changed immediately after I said this. The look on her face described her as if she was unhappy. Not happy with what I said.

Along with the change in the look of Mother's face makes her return to her initial activities, busying herself with the kitchen. I was made speechless, pecking with a slightly disappointed face. Is your mom angry at this time? I didn't understand, he didn't say anything until I finally decided to get out of the kitchen.

I let out a long sigh of sitting and sitting on a plastic chair until my eyes moved to stare at the wall centered on a clock that had shown 08:00 there was still plenty of time not to register.

Ari just wanted to sign up.
