A happy night as Zareena and Chris accept their match. Even the special dinner became more cheerful. Seen from the faces of his second parents who were beaming.
Chris did not stop smiling at Zareena. It was truly unexpected that this woman before him also accepted this matchmaking.
Zareena, meanwhile, is in a complicated situation. Half-heartedly accepting and half-heartedly not. All this because of his closeness with Tristan. If time can be turned, then Zareena will choose not to know the man.
"Zaree," Mary scolded.
"Yes ...." Zareena was unable to hide her shock.
"Don't pay attention to Chris anymore" continued Mary.
Zareena blushed in shame. He wanted to correct Mary's remark, that he wasn't paying attention to Chris. Zareena's eyes were on her future husband. However, believe me if his mind has mellang buana on Tristan.
"Take the dessert" said Mary.
Zareena nodded, then smiled. "Yes, wait a minute."
Suddenly Tristan's words came to Zareena's mind. He makes this dessert special for a special night's tomb, and just sees if Mary will praise him as Tristan thinks.
Strobey pudding is placed on the table. Zareena cut it into pieces, then split it flat. Lastly for Chris, and as a thank you, Zareena got a sweet smile from the man.
"The pudding is delicious" said Ellis Hemswort, Chris' mother.
"Zareena made it" said Mary, then accompanied by another compliment.
For this, Zareena brandished two thumbs at Tristan. Boring conversation happens at the dinner table. The family discussed the engagement date, but occasionally dropped out of the topic, and made the chat never complete.
"Chris, you want to come with me?" the offer came from Zareena's lips.
"Of course."
The two say goodbye first, before stepping towards the poolside. For a moment it became silent. Chris and Zareena don't know what to say.
"The pudding was good" said Chris.
Zareena. "I can make it for you."
"I'm getting impatient."
"What's the reason?" ask Zareena.
Chris frowned. "What?"
Zareena doesn't like overly pleasantries. "You accepted this match. Don't tell me because you obeyed your parents' orders."
Chris shakes. "My family never insisted. I accept you because I like you."
"Since when?"
"Since we were in the park. You're interesting to me. Including the kind of woman I want. You look strong and smart, and we seem to have the same thing in common" Chris said. "Do you like to read books?"
"Slightly, but I prefer cookbooks."
"Then you?" Chris asked back.
"There is no reason to refuse. There's a handsome, well-established man who wants to marry me, so why would I refuse him?"
Chris was stunned to hear that. "Are you sure of what you said?"
Zareena laughs. "Forgot my words earlier. Of course I like you too."
Eighty percent for the first speech, then twenty percent for the second part, which is "i like you too."
"Tell me about your holiday experience" Chris asked.
Zareena told her of her trip during a vacation on the island of Milos. Of course there are more lies there because Tristan was talked about as a woman.
Chris looked at his wife. "Now we are official. You're my future wife."
Zareena smiled. "Yes, and you're my future husband."
"I'm lucky to have you."
Chris grabbed both hands of Zareena. Lift it up, then land a soft kiss there.
