For a while, Zareena hitchhiked in Colin's apartment first before she decided where to go this time. Everything's getting messed up. Zareena believes the tutor at her cooking course will be angry because she did not pass the exam. Then his other friends at the training ground would also definitely look for him.
Want how else, Zareena is lazy to continue the course or practice. He was even reluctant to be in London because one man had messed things up.
"You can stay here, Zaree. I'd love it if we stayed together." Colin said that because he wanted Zareena to stay with him.
Zareena shook her head. It is not that he cannot afford to rent an apartment. He just wanted to get out of London. "I want a vacation. Maybe I want to live somewhere else too."
"Where do you want to go?" Colin was worried.
Zareena pressed her shoulders. "I don't know. Maybe out of London or something. I want to go somewhere nice and quiet. If I had a hard time there, I'd be there forever."
"You're gonna leave me? You can't do this, Zareena."
"I want to go to calm myself."
"You love her?" Colin can guess the look on Zareena's face which implies sadness.
"I don't know." Zareena was still doubtful of her own feelings.
"You love him, Zaree."
Zareena shook her head. "I don't want to talk about Tristan."
"You're still not confessing, and I didn't say his name. I thought you were disappointed because of Chris."
Zareena looked closely at her best friend, a second later she smiled. "You are my best friend."
"How about you go to my cousin's?" Colin offered, then continued his words. "You can go to Hawkshead. That's a very beautiful village."
"You want me to stay in Cumbria County?"
Colin nodded. "I'll take you. I happen to have not been there for a long time. I miss the house with the uniform paint, and the windows are always open."
Zareena recalls Colin's proposal. "Why not? I think that's a good idea."
It is not far from London to Cumbria. It is only about six hours by bus, but no one would have expected Zareena to be there.
Cousin Colin said he would welcome them both. Later that day, Colin packed his clothes, booked a bus ticket, and left for Cumbria.
"Don't tell anyone if I'm here" Zareena said, as they were on the bus.
Colin's forehead wrinkled. "If your parents are looking for how?"
"You can find an excuse, Colin."
"You really want to be hostile to them?"
"I've apologized to Chris or his parents. My mom's mad, and maybe she'll find a mate for me again."
Colin laughed when he heard it. "Was your mother and father ever been betrothed?"
Zareena shrugged her shoulders. "Okay, I guess so. I never asked either. All I know is they both love each other."
"Including Tristan?"
Zareena was silent to the name. Then, he nodded. "After all, he won't be looking for me. Tristan loves his late girlfriend. Until now the man had not forgotten her."
"Oh, don't talk about it anymore. There we will find new victims. The youth in Hawkshead village are handsome. We can have coffee with them."
"Just have coffee?" reset Zareena.
From his tone alone Colin can guess the meaning of his best friend's question. He laughed. "I don't think sleeping together is a problem."
"If it's that, I can't promise." Zareena flicked her hands as she would not follow in the footsteps of Colin who likes to change partners.
