The thick fog that covers the ceiling of the ruins of the city, does not give a gap for the sun to reveal its existence. Tracing the corner of the city without any direction, Mikaru decided to immediately go towards the vague-looking high mountain of the ruins of the city. To him, from a height he could pierce through the thick fog and clearly see the surrounding state.
Plundering supplies and supplies that had no master, now the five of them prepared themselves to leave the ruins of the city.
"How's it?" ask Mikaru to the others.
"Wait a minute" replied Mira.
Looking at the four friends who were busy packing, Mikaru glanced at the shop on the right where he was standing, looking at a 30cm long knife that was plastered on the display case.
Moving away from his friends, he went to that place and found hunting tools.
"Hunting equipment?" muttered Mikaru looking through the contents of the room.
"I think this air rifle is not effective for self-protection," he murmured seeing some rifles commonly used for hunting animals.
"I think it's enough" he muttered, taking a 30cm-long knife that he placed on the back of his waist.
The four friends were ready, then approached Mikaru.
"What are you looking for?" tanya Mira approached Mikaru.
"There's no way we're gonna keep running, right?" mikaru replied while trying the sharpness of the blade gesturing for resistance when attacked.
"Mira-Mira, take a look ...," Ririn's exclamation ran up to Mira, appearing to show off the clothes she got from the clothing store next door.
"You are this ...." Sighing watching Ririn's clothes.
Ririn appeared to be wearing shorts and a light blue jacket that had a veil like rabbit ears.
"Even ...," continued Sigit broke up Ririn and Mira.
"Mikaru, I found this," Rumia said approaching Mikaru while showing him something she was carrying.
"Where did you find him?" mikaru asked Rumia.
"In the toilet of the woman's clothing store," replied Rumia.
"empty ...," muttered Mikaru checking the gun that Rumia was carrying. "This thing is very useful, but there's no ammunition!" he said he kept the gun in his pants pocket.
"Can we go now?" ask Mira.
"Alright," Mikaru replied as he left.
Now the five of them began the journey towards the hill that looked from the ruins of the city. The most exhausting day of their lives, where the five of them had to walk towards the hill without wearing a vehicle. Eight hours after their journey, there was not even the end of the ruins of the city.
Mikaru realized something strange happened to them. In the midst of the thick fog, their opposites should be limited. However, "Why does this fog not cover that mountain," Mikaru muttered.
Mount OutCast is the core of the island of OutCast, where on top there is a giant tree called the Ensnare tree. Anyone who enters the OutCast plains will definitely get lost due to the existence of the Ensnare witch. These witches can damage the entire type of navigation that allows people to not be able to get off the island and the main trap for people to get lost is the highest peak of OutCast, which is, the Witch Ensnare's residence.
"Huaaagghh .. bi-can we stop for a second?" With a breath of breath Ririn pouted to rest for a moment.
"You want to spend the night with that monster again?" ask Mira to Ririn.
"I'm really tired .. hah .." replied Ririn with breathless breathing that seemed hard to breathe.
"Give me your bag" said Sigit, taking the carrying bag that Ririn had brought.
"Thank you" said Ririn.
"Before it gets dark we have to get out of this city" Mikaru said.
A long day filled with endless travel, empty stomachs and dry throats did not stop their steps. But their bodies now seem to be reaching their limits. Tiredness that requires them to stop and rest.
"Either how long we have been walking, not even this stopwatch is working," muttered Mikaru watching the stopwatch he got at the hunting shop.
"We will rest in the house ...," pointed Mikaru at the building right in front of them.
"Finally ...," replied Ririn looking happy.
Mikaru tried to calculate how long they had been walking, the effort was fruitless as well. There are absolutely no parameters that can measure their journey.
Eight hours of their journey non-stop, now they rest in buildings whose condition 40% of the building has been destroyed.
"It's really not worth occupying" said Sigit see the condition of the building.
"How else, this place is different from before." In response to Sigit, Mikaru explained the circumstances. "Nothing is more worthy of this place." Point at Mikaru while paying attention around from where they stand.
"You guys see that?" point Mira looks like trees behind a thick fog that looks very big.
"That's a big deal," Ririn said in response to Mira's words.
"In-where we really are." Broken Sigit responds to Mira.
Looks worried face of something they do not know with what life is behind the giant trees.
"I really didn't realize we had reached the end of the ruins" Mikaru muttered stiffly looking at the forest filled with giant shady trees.
The look on Sigit's anxious face watched Mikaru. "We can't continue our journey, we'd better stay here until tomorrow morning."
Sigit did not want to risk traveling in the dark of the night, he asked Mikaru to rest here until the next morning, Sigit assumed that there was a creature far more dangerous than the Chimera behind this giant forest.
Noticing the tired-looking body gestures of his friends, Mikaru replied. "You're right, we'd better spend the night here and continue the journey tomorrow morning." Walking over to the building they were about to occupy, Mikaru said. "Before dark, we should be prepared and no activity for the night".
Inside this 4x6-meter room, they cleaned the room, from dust and the ruins of the building. Mira noticed that the ceiling of the room that was hollow was quite large. Mira's anxiety if the creature returns later, then enters from the hollow ceiling.
"Would we fix this roof?" Point Mira towards the perforated roof.
"Our time won't be enough" Mikaru replied.
"What if he (chimera) comes back?" ask Mira.
"We will not be active at night, we will sleep with a sleeping bag" Mikaru said.
In response to Mira's anxiety, Mikaru muttered. "May my guess be right."
"This is all I got." Ririn's voice was talking to Rumia.
"It's okay, it's enough" Rumia replied.
Ririn and Rumia were preparing an instant meal.
"Mikaru, accompany me ...," called Sigit to take Mikaru away in search of firewood.
After cleaning the place, Ririn, Mira and Rumia prepare a dish consisting of some instant noodles, nuggets, eggs and bread. While Mikaru and Sigit were looking for some firewood.
Slowly they approached the forest, not one but all the trees in it were large. To the extent that they are amazed by the falling fruit as big as a yoga ball with a diameter of 70-90 cm.
While pointing at the large fruit with a puzzled look Mikaru asked. "This ...? this big fruit, what is this tree?"
"I guess, so ...." While focusing on the top of the tree that was covered in thick fog.
Mikaru and Sigit were astonished how this tall tree could not be seen at the end, while the mountain peak that guided them here was visible.
It crossed Mikaru's mind. "what is this delusion?" he muttered while thinking about something that was at the top of the mountain.
Putting aside the oddities they experienced, Sigit and Mikaru returned to their resting place.
The sky began to lose its light. After eating, Mikaru lit a bonfire outside the building, in order to illuminate the road and expand the view.
As she was about to rest, Rumia approached Mikaru and asked him about her injuries. "How's your wound?"
"That's okay." Surprised by Rumia's sudden arrival. "I guess, I'm getting used to it without this hand ...," Glancing at the wound.
"The charge must be changed (replaced)." Cutting off Rumia's speech, Mira asked. "You know each other?"
"Rumia is my schoolmate .." Mikaru replied.
"School friends?" Feeling dissatisfied with Mikaru's answer. "But you're too close ...."
Mikaru gestured to Mira that Rumia was a special person to him. "I used to be an orphan, she struggled to raise me alone. Then, after this disaster I lost him. And now, this is the only thing I'm worth." Gently caressing Rumia's hair. "We'll get back together ...."
Mira understood Mikaru's speech. "Such ...." Cover yourself with a sleeping bag. "Well, it's time for us to sleep ...."
After eating, they rest to not do activities at night. Mikaru asked all of them not to panic when the creature returned.
Just in case Mikaru and Sigit lit a bonfire outside the building to keep the surrounding area visible in their eyes. Then Mikaru and Sigit prepared a can filled with stone, hanging on the front building they occupied and tied with rope to their place. The goal is that if the chimera comes back they can cut the rope and make a sound that can divert the creature.
"The worst case if the creature returns, I ask you not to run away" Mikaru said before they all fell asleep.
"You mean?" ask Mira.
"This is just my guess, it's best to reduce movement if the creature returns. Cover yourself with a sleeping bag until your skin is not visible." Mikaru explained.
"Tu-wait .., I can die out of breath," Ririn said in response to Mikaru's explanation.
Hearing Mikaru's words, Mira woke up wanting to hear her explanation. "What do you think ...."
"Although the creature looks strange (chimera), still they are a group of animals. Some of their abilities are combined between lions and snakes, have blind spots and weaknesses in choosing prey right ...?" Mikaru's explanation.
"You mean the body temperature sensor that the snake has and the moving object that the lion sees ...," Mira continued.
"Yeah .., more or less like that," Mikaru replied.
Because the basic ability of the chimera is a created animal that has two abilities. Mikaru tried to link the abilities of the lion and snake combined, only Mikaru's wild theory has not been proven to be true.
After the conversation, they rested with the preparedness Mikaru had planned.
The night was getting late, reinforced with cold air and an atmosphere that was so quiet. The flames that were burning slowly shrank. There were sounds of footsteps and footsteps indicating that the creature had returned.
