Ode To Latitude
Expert Witness

Regata lay down her body on the sofa of her television room. He stretched his stiff neck and back muscles. Today Regata deliberately changed his holiday schedule to become an expert witness in the trial of the disclosure case.

Regata had rejected the request because he knew he would only be the one to read the results of the visa at the trial. The rest he was forced to listen to a trial that went awry.

Is it hard to decide the outcome of the trial? the perpetrator has confessed and the motive for the persecution is clear. The results of the visa are in place and all the trial files are complete and what makes the judge have not decided the sentence? Regata doesn't understand what he wants is the understanding of everyone in the room that he wants to get out of there. However, no one is allowed to leave the court until the trial ends.

"Are you okay?" ask Dr. Genta when the trial is over.

"Yes doc" said Regata briefly.

It was Doctor Gentalah who persuaded Regata to appear at the trial and assured Regata that everything would be fine as long as he adhered to the results of the visa and the professional code of conduct.

"I want to take you to my favorite restaurant" Genta asked.

The Regata brain thinks fast. Doctor Genta just called the restaurant. The price of food in that place must have been expensive, not to mention that he had to buy drinks and taxes for example. Regata has promised to avoid unnecessary expenses for the cost of tutoring Mia.

"I just went home Doc" Regata said, telling a sad story that her daughter was waiting to eat together at home. Not entirely a lie because Mia and herself rarely eat together.

"Who's mom coming home?" mia asked in curiosity.

"Doctors specialize in hospitals and mama's bosses at the practice site" Regata said.

"What is the schedule for lessons today?" ask Regata while sitting on the sofa in the television room.

"Mah English"

"Where are your math lessons, mama hasn't seen your chores"

Regata asks Mia to bring her tutoring books along with her chores. He had not had time to ask Mia's progress to her tutor. Maybe in the next meeting he should watch the lessons.

Regata opens Mia's notebooks. He shook his head. Mia's notes are not as neat as her school records used to be.

"Can you, I can read these formulas" elak Mia.

"Your color lens is still a lot, right? mending is used to create city-boxes in formulas, so you know the difference between one formula and another" Regata suggested.

The advice Regata gives is based on personal experience. It just so happened that Mia had the same drawing talent as her. Her daughter's brain is more active in remembering something colorful.

The ringing of the phone shifted Mia and Regata's gaze. It turned out to be Bi Nina's phone, a new number. Bi Nina who was cleaning the table, immediately left the kitchen towards the side garden.

"Hello good afternoon" said Bi Nina nervously.

A voice at the end of the room asked her daughter and granddaughter. It had been four days that Bi Nina had not given him any news. Arimbi knew Bi Nina must be worried about Regata's attitude but she felt sorry for her grandson after hearing Bi Nina tell him that Regata gave Mia a pretty solid tutoring schedule for a child her age.

"Mia okay?" tanya Arimbi shrank her voice.

"Yes buk"

Bi Nina could not explain at length because she was currently at work. He also fears Regata is suspicious.

"Good ma'am, thank you" Bi Nina said as she turned off the phone.

"Who's Bi?" ask Regata to know. His master stood straight behind him.

"From the family in the village there is buying and selling land" said Bi Nina lying.

"Well, Bi Nina nduk-nunduk is what's wrong"

Bi Nina smiled broadly trying to cover up her lie. Hopefully his employer doesn't suspect anything.
