Ode To Latitude
Occasions

The DPR member meeting was over a few minutes ago, and Danu reactivated her phone to check incoming messages and calls. Among the messages, there were messages coming in from his wife and son. This important meeting was forced to be held at night considering they did not have the opportunity to hold a meeting the next day because there were other tasks waiting.

Secretary Danu brought important papers for him to sign, the important file was about a new capital development project that Danu had read about this afternoon and he requested that some files be completed and some things that were deemed unnecessary be immediately deleted and replaced.

Danu glanced at her watch, almost three in the morning. He immediately signed a fairly large file using the original signature and wet stamp without photocopy because it was an important document that must be delivered tomorrow morning.

When he finished, Danu leaned back in her swivel chair. He closed his eyes trying to sleep for a while because time and conditions did not allow him to go back and forth to the house and office, which is why he always prepared a change of clothes and bathing needs in the office.

Saturday has come, today Lintang contacted Arimbi Regata's mother, but there is no answer. He drove his car to the residence of Regata's parents. The security guard at the gate invited Lintang in after checking there was nothing suspicious in the car.

Before the door was knocked, Lintang saw Arimbi was cutting dry leaves next to his yard. He approached and greeted Arimbi. Arimbi of course was not surprised by the presence of Lintang, because yesterday he deliberately did not answer the phone of the man who was his grandson's father.

“Good afternoon aunt” greet Latitude politely.

“Oh yes, please sit” said Arimbi invited Lintang to sit on a chair provided on the terrace next to his house that leads directly to his garden.

Arimbi let Lintang sit, accompanied by warm tea and snacks served by household assistants. Latitude can't wait for Arimbi finished cutting the plants. He composed suitable opening words to ask Regata as well as resolve his curiosity.

Arimbi saw Lintang, the young man looked clumsy he did not touch tea and snacks but focused on seeing Arimbi. Arimbi gave up, he put down the garden scissors and sat down in front of the Latitude.

“There is what” asked Arimbi without further ado.

“Anu. Edgars. Can I meet Regata?” tanya Lintang, her face was hopeful.

“Regata no” replied Arimbi briefly.

“Can you ask for his phone number?” ask the latitude again.

“There are things I want to ask you directly on Regata”

As usual Arimbi uses various reasons to prevent the mouth of the bucket from mislead Regata's secrets. Lintang did not want to lose, various kinds of persuasion he threw at the woman who used to be almost his future father-in-law.

“I saw Regata with a man, an old woman and a small child, a daughter” said Lintang Weak.

“If indeed he has a family is okay, I just want to say sorry and parted properly” said Lintang

What is fine, for eight years tortured alone, because the Regata family has not given the green light, of course I also have to improve myself. Regata comes from a distinguished family and full of achievements it does not feel like if I am just a mediocre daughter-in-law in Latang.

Lintang is still there negotiating to get information about Regata but it doesn't work until Danu shows up with Mia. Latitude was researching Mia who was directly running towards him.

“All England champion star right?” guess Mia while approaching.

Lintang is happy that the little boy in front of him knows himself. Lintang greeted the little girl, her face resembled Regata. No need to ask Lintang can guess this Regata child, but his face does not look like the man he met at the clinic seems to be more dominating Regata genes.

“Can you ask for his signature?” ask Mia

“Boleh” said Lintang happy, the presence of this little boy diluted the awkward atmosphere between them.

“Mia, out of this you have to shower and rest” reprimand Danu cold.

“Where did Grandpa know Om Lintang?’ ask Mia to Danu.

The faces of the three people changed, between weird, funny, surprised mixed into one. “Om” sounds kinda...

“You're out of practice? “ tanya Lintang looks at Mia's sports equipment while affixing the signature on Mia's racquet bag and jersey.

Mia nodded then told her training activities. Danu and Arimbi look at the interaction of the two in silence. Lintang offers to train Mia at the weekend and his time off Danu refuses firmly and immediately takes Mia away from the front of Lintang.

“Grandfather...” whine Mia her eyes glazed over.

“Om Latitude should return to dorm. Next time we meet again” said Danu.

“Kakek, just a minute” said Mia she still wants to ask about Lintang's work but Danu continues to prevent it.

“Om Latitude must be permission to your mama first” Danu said finally. The words simply flowed from his mouth without being prevented.

Mia is not warting. The little girl gave up on choosing to obey her grandfather's orders.

After returning from Regata's house, the feeling of Lintang is getting hotter. What kind of man does Regata marry. Regata and her husband must have been very busy until Saturday even let her daughter only be with her grandparents. The little girl, Lintang saw the gap there, the gap so that she and Regata could meet.
