The next day his parents-in-law must return to the city of Bali, indeed they are here to settle the affairs posed by his son. His son who initially took care of the new business of lodging here even ended up bringing a son-in-law for them. Actually they are happy that their son who never brought a woman or dated suddenly married a woman. It's just that they regretted the actions of their son that did not reflect the decency of taking a woman by force in a way that was a little different from the usual happy couple. But they still hope the marriage of his son with his woman remains harmonious.
Before leaving, Jane's mother-in-law said, "Jane, I hope you'll be here with your husband. If your husband rarely comes home, does anything strange, or anything that hurts you, you can scold him and don't hesitate to tell me. If he doesn't hear you let me slap him!!"
Jane smiled at the mother-in-law's concern she was pointing at, answering "of course Mother"
"Mother I wouldn't do that" Ed said defensively.
"An early marriage sometimes looks sweet but if it is long enough it will start to feel different. I'll see the solemnity of your words" pressed her mother.
"I know but it's not wise just because time and bland feelings have to leave each other. Everything can be improved if both are pleasing, don't you think?!" Ed said as he glanced at Jane who did not respond.
"Now you're saying that, because you haven't gone through the toughest phases of marriage. But I still hope that you can be both joyful and sorrowful, I hope that you choose to finish it together" she hugged her daughter-in-law in the sadness of having to part ways.
After her she looked at her son, giving him a warm hug "Alright I believe, so I hope you guys are always well"
"I have the same expectations as your Mother" said Father-in-law in her wibow tone.
If Jane doesn't know her father-in-law better, she might feel weird about that line, just that her father-in-law is quite stiff and firm. In fact, he is a man who is quite spoiled in front of his wife.
Jane's mother-in-law actually left them, especially Jane just lost her mother. But other business was waiting there with a heavy heart he finally left his son-in-law and son.
.........
Now it just feels lonely, after Father and Mother-in-law leave. As long as they were here he didn't even have a chance to think about the sadness of his mother's passing. Jane smiled quickly not wanting to lament sadness like the people here who were expecting her happiness.
While Jane was watching television in the living room, Ed approached her. But Jane doesn't understand why she came to him if she just kept quiet or she just meant to watch?.
Ed realizes that Jane continues to steal a glance at him, he begins to break the silence answering the question that Jane has in mind "Mother told me yesterday you were talking to the neighbors and they quite stopped you"
Jane gets upset when Ed sniffs yesterday's problem "Yes, they're enough to make me angry. He says a lot of things, praises you more, you're handsome, and whatever it is. They also want to introduce you to their beautiful daughters, oh you must be happy now!" said Jane a little sewot.
But there was no response, and then she realized she was like a jealous woman here.
"Don't think of anything I'm not jealous of or whatever it is I'm just keeping mine which I have to do right now" jane's assertive trying to keep Ed from thinking that he has that kind of feeling.
But Ed looked quite angry, his laughter fading, with Jane's hand held slightly firmly. His face was so close to Jane, he looked at her fixedly "right now what do you mean? you intend to leave me!!"
The ringing of Ed's cell phone made his attention distracted, he sighed letting go of Jane's hand and gave her a look like he wanted to say that 'our dealings are not done'. Jane looked indifferent and she was back to enjoying her spectacle.
Jane is in pretty crowded condition. The television was on with noise and Ed was outside with his phone. Which doesn't even make Jane wonder who called her husband. A woman or a man, certainly in the midst of it all, Jane felt empty and empty.
It looks like Ed has a very important affair to the point of calling long enough.
Then Ed came back, and he sat down next to Jane "I think I should go now. There are things I need to take care of" he said.
"I get it" said Jane "Mm, if I invited my best friend here would you mind?"
"No. Of course you can bring your friends here as long as it's a woman" he said.
"Yes, Viola is a woman" Jane was a little confused as to why Ed was referring to gender. Obviously her best friend is a girl.
"Ah, only Viola can of course. Have fun with him" after saying that Ed rushed out, it felt like his business this time was urgent.
So far Jane has felt quite improved and now it's time she explained to her best friend about her disappearance all along. Jane tried to calm herself down, her heart beating strong enough. He sent his best friend a message, "Viola, come here, I want to tell you everything. Thank you for waiting, I appreciate you caring for me." While Jane sent her the location of her residence.
Jane was suddenly about to cry, she had no idea what her best friend was responding to. And the fears that once had calmed down now come back to haunt him. While waiting for his friend's reply he was very agitated.
A few minutes, then he got a reply "I'm there. May I bring a friend?!"
Jane can't, if her best friend takes someone else. Be it his classmate or maybe another friend. He won't be able to tell anything, he's not ready for the story to be known to the public. Especially those who know him. Then Jane sent a message back so that his best friend came alone because the problem is not to be listened to by many people who will later spread everywhere. By pleading with her best friend's understanding, Jane hoped she would understand her condition. Fortunately, his friend asserted that he would come alone, if really the problem should not be heard by the ears of others.
As she waited for her best friend to come, Jane paced out the window by the door. He was fretful, chaotic, all his emotions fused together. His body was also heating up with inexplicable uneasiness, even his head was starting to throb. He'll start from nowhere, from that night when they split up on campus or just get to the point. Oh, Jane was really panicking and was constantly wrestling with her mind throughout the wait.
