REMEMBER ME?...

REMEMBER ME?...
Part 49's

After crossing the sea and arriving at the port and then escorted by Vano, Kiara then arrived at his home. He did not see his watch, but he could confirm that he reached exactly midnight—or maybe more. Upon entering his house, he was greeted only by his housekeeper who helped him carry his bag while he himself went to his room.

Honestly, Kiara felt very tired at that moment. Moreover, he did not have time to rest after work and after his date with Vano. Now, when he realized he had to put himself to sleep, he could not even sleep because of Vano's actions. Kiara clasped her own right hand with her left hand and then smiled broadly like a fool. He could still feel Vano's hand there. How the skinny man's fingers fit so well between his fingers, how warm and protective the man's grip on him, he could feel it all.

“Let it be like this. Until we get back to the inn.”

Kiara still often blushes when turning the memory a few hours ago on her head. Sometimes, he would try to pinch himself. Trying to convince himself that what he had just experienced was not just a dream. And it turns out it wasn't. That thing really happened.

Oh, maybe this is also what caused him to be reluctant to close his eyes and be herded into the dream world. Because in the end, the world was actually more beautiful than the world of his dreams.

____

In the morning, at about 6, Kiara's phone, which she had placed on the bed, was right next to her sleeping pillow, ringing loudly. Wake up to her sleeping self. Of course, he had just gone to bed at 3am! That means, the total sleep time is only 3 hours. And it's still a long way from his average sleep hours. Therefore, with her eyes still closed, the girl's arm moved looking for her phone then picked up her phone and stuck it in the ear.

“Hm?” muttered.

“You're still sleeping?!” screech someone on the phone. It seemed like the person looked surprised after hearing Kiara's semi-conscious voice. And Kiara recognized this voice as belonging to Vano Alecander.

“Hm...,” once again, Kiara replied with a faint mutter.

“Yes! What time is it? We have to get to Namsan Tower by 7!”

“I know,” reply Kiara briefly. “5 minutes more..,” added.

“You can't wait another 5 minutes! We will be late if it is like that..,”Vano is silent on the phone, hanging his unfinished sentence while Kiara is still listening with her eyes closed and semi-conscious state.“If you still don't want to wake up, I'm going to go there and you don't want to know how I'm going to wake you up later, right?”

Kiara's eyes that had been closed tightly suddenly opened wide. He glared with a frown upon hearing what the man had just said. Instantly, his consciousness recovered. “What did you say?” sooji asked, afraid he heard wrong.

“Quick out now or I'll catch up with you there, Kiara kusuma—“

“B-alright, all right, I'm up now! Wait for me there!” yelling Kiara quickly. He immediately got up from his lying position and sighed loudly. He could imagine Vano smiling on the phone. But then Kiara thought of a crazy thing,“Oh, or do you want to get into my house and wait in the living room with my mom? It just so happens that he is at home. Isn't this a good way to get to know your future father-in-law? At least you don't remember it that much, do you?” challenge Kiara.

Kiara scrunched her forehead. “You're serious?”

“The offer wasn't bad, you know? It's better than freezing out here anyway. You know, it's snowing and the road's covered with snow. Although it is beautiful, the snow still makes things worse. Looks like I'll be in for a while.”

“Yes! Don't try to do it, you understand? I'm just kidding..so don't try to do it!”

“Slow, I'm in front of your house. Therefore, the sooner you get down, the better.”

Kiara clicked her tongue and immediately disconnected the phone and immediately went to the bathroom. 20 minutes later, the girl was ready complete with a long brown coat, boots, and a white scarf. In a hurry, he walked out of his room. And as soon as he reached the living room, he let out a sigh of relief to find no one there.

Not that he does not want Vano to meet only two with his mother, it does not mean that he does not want his mother to know Vano further, and his mother has known him since long ago. But Kiara was only afraid that the man would be questioned by his mother and reminded of something the man did not remember. That guy told her he hated that kind of thing, didn't he? Yeah, and he didn't want that to happen. Because Kiara believed, if Vano and her mother were to be left alone, her mother would definitely question such a thing. Her mother is a curious and careful person also details if it relates to others—maybe it is the influence of her work?—entah, which is important, is, Kiara was relieved that Vano had not met her mother and was relieved that she was not home that morning.

As soon as Kiara came out of her house, she saw Vano's car in front of her house. Immediately he approached the car and saw Vano inside and unaware of his arrival, Kiara immediately got into the passenger seat beside the driver. It was only after he entered that Vano realized his whereabouts.

The man glanced at his watch and sighed. “24 minutes.” Said the man as if to tell the location of Kiara's mistake.

“You didn't get into my house!” kiara suddenly accused Vano after finding out the man was lying—even though he himself felt relieved.

“What am I going in for? Wait a minute, that doesn't mean I'm a coward and don't want to meet your mother, but I'm sure one hundred percent of career women like your mother would not want to be bullied in the morning like this before leaving for work. So I decided not to give your mother a bad impression.”

Vano anticipates Kiara will frown, get upset, or complain about her argument by saying that as an excuse for the man not to meet his mother. But what he saw was far from his expectations.

Kara smiled, yes, smiled. Vano didn't even understand why the girl was smiling.

“Why are you smiling?” ask Vano at the end.

Kiara blinked her eyes a few times, as if trying to resuscitate herself. “Eo-eoh? No, it's okay. Quickly start the car! Said you didn't want us to be late?” kiara exclaimed to switch their conversation. Honestly, he himself felt embarrassed to be caught smiling while watching Vano speak.

“Hey, you're getting good at switching conversations, huh?”vano comments while pulling one corner of his lips up, forming a smirk that was not understood by Kiara before the man finally turned on his car engine. “Oh, don't forget to attach your seat belt.” Vano.
