"Dad."
"Where are you going?"
"Ai, listen to Uda first."
Edzar chased Safa down a rocky road. He wanted to get angry when several times the woman stumbled or slipped. But he realized at this time it was not his realm to be damning.
Plus the rain is increasingly flushing the surface of the ground. Add to that the slippery footing they cross. Inevitably thunder also rumbled over the sky. Splitting the horizon with its tumultuous noise.
Edzar tried to grab Safa's arm, intending to hold off in case the woman fell again. But Safa didn't let that happen. He'd rather have his leg hurt than hold on to Edzar.
Safa did not care even though her skirt had been torn in some parts. His calf was dirty by the splashing ground. His heel bled from frequent exposure to sharp rocks. Her feet were scratched as a result of being violated. Safa doesn't wear footwear. The sandals break up as if complementing the misfortune.
And all that was still unable to ease the disappointment that surrounded his heart.
Be ill. That's how he feels right now. The wounds on his body were incomparable to his gaping heart.
Rainwater cannot cool the head. Heat. His chest and brain were turbulent. Until he had to shakily hold his breath tight.
The fact that made him fall into the deepest hole. Facts that shattered his imagination about Edzar. The man she thought was perfect, had apparently kept something this big from her.
Wh why? Why did Safa realize so late? Though from the beginning he knew Edzar a figure wrapped in mystery.
The feeling makes it dissolve until it forgets direction. Mother once said we should not love someone too much. But what Mother does not know, no matter how small, a little love is still able to present wounds.
"Ai, please listen to Uda. We're talking about this all right."
"Come to the car. You will be sick with rain like this." Edzar continued to cry out among the thunders the sound of rain.
He held back Safa's elbow which staggered almost plummeting. Although Edzar realized Safa would be more and more innocent every time he touched. As now, Safa forcibly removed her check. Looking up to show his swollen face, even the rain water was unable to disguise his cries.
Edzar. His heart seemed to be snatched at the look of hatred.
"C ..."
"Now I know why my heart is always hesitating."
"Because my own husband is a fraud."
Edzar shook his head slowly. "No, Honey. I don't mean that."
"Then what was it like?" tanya Safa is fierce. "Like you kept this from me? If it wasn't Mom who said it, I probably wouldn't have known forever that you had another woman's child."
"Oh, by Allah, you have no intention of lying to you. Uda's just looking for the right time to tell you this matter."
"The right time? Is our togetherness so far still not enough to present the time that you say is right?"
"C ..."
"I'm sorry ..."
"Receive your proposal."
Edzar's throat seemed to falter, hearing Safa's statement just now.
"Don't, it's just about the kids, is it? The truth is you're Uda's only wife now."
"just?"
"It's easy you say. Just so you know, I'm not as good at accepting other people's children, including yours."
"Dad!"
"Ai, Uda knows you're emotional. Your words are not in line with the heart."
"Please, let's go back. We're talking cold head." Edzar tried to stay calm even though there the fear rumbled over the rain.
And all of that was compounded by Safa's arm. The woman turned around, resuming her steps down the steep rock.
Spontaneous Edzar followed, but Safa's subsequent words made her legs instantly transfixed.
"Don't follow me. Or you're my talaq right now."
It worked on nailing him. Edzar could only helplessly stare at the small back of his wife who was slowly moving away.
Maybe he could have forced Safa. Holding him back to the hut and locking him up so as not to go anywhere. But that would only add to Safa's hatred for her. Moreover, he did not want to commit violence.
Enough of the heart that Edzar hurt, he could not see any more real wounds. Safa needs time. Maybe later Edzar can talk again after the situation cooled down enough.
Edzar looked down. It seems Safa has arrived at the highway. Springing him back into the car, intending to catch up with Safa whom he thought was not far away. But he was wrong. Safa is nowhere.
Where's wife? Why did it disappear so quickly?
Edzar came down with a huff. He ran over to some stalls on the side of the road. Ask one by one people there, armed with photos that he had taken before they left earlier.
And from some witnesses, Edzar got information that Safa came home on a motorcycle that happened to be running in one of the stalls.
Which made Edzar's heart feel sliced, their description of Safa's messy and scarred appearance. They also offered to report to the police for thinking Safa had been harassed.
Edzar's heart was hit by Godam. How cruel as a husband.
"Thank you, sir. Then excuse me." Edzar hurriedly entered the car. Drive at high speed to the Halim family villa.
At first he thought Safa would return to her family's villa after they had a fight. In fact, he was wrong. Safa wasn't there either.
So where did his wife go? Or something happened on the way?
Suddenly Edzar's heart was increasingly troubled. His heart was overcome with anxiety. If Safa doesn't come back here, then where?
Edzar only found Mr and Mrs Halim throwing confused gazes. He could not hold back the crying. He sobbed, prostrating to apologize to his in-laws for failing to look after Safa.
His heart also cursed, why had he not just forced Safa to go home together. If this was the case, Edzar did not even have the face to just look at the two pairs of eyes that demanded an explanation.
Edzar had no choice but to tell him everything. He's really upset right now. Safa doesn't know anyone in Bandung. It is also unusual to travel alone in a foreign place.
"Better Nak Edzar calm down first. Maybe Safa's dropping by somewhere. He used to starve when it rained."
Edzar shook his head in response to Mr. Halim. How can he be calm if he does not know the state of his wife for sure.
"Sooner or later all this will happen if you keep hiding the truth."
"Didn't I tell you from the beginning? Speak about. Delaying unraveling the tangled yarn will only make it more chaotic."
"Instead, now you're fighting. Safa refused to hear an explanation. Because what? Because he was disappointed. Feel lied to. Stupided. Feeling her nature as a wife is underestimated."
"Try me if Nak Edzar said from the beginning. Maybe Safa wouldn't misunderstand. Especially when it comes from people's mouths. Safa must think you can't be trusted."
"I gave Nak Edzar the chance to talk about it in person. Because I want Safa to hear exactly from her husband's mouth. Not me or my wife."
Edzar is getting more and more fucked up. Regretting all his decisions and cowardly nature that dare not reveal his flaws. Whether you want it to be then or now, the fear keeps happening. Safa can't take it.
Many times he dialed the number of the wife but still no answer. While the rain out there never subsides. Just as his heart was filled with anxiety.
'Lord, please protect my wife wherever she is, ' her inner self.
