After being close to the ripples of the Gate door, Shiro just dropped off the embarrassed-looking Ume.
"I'm sorry, I didn't say anything before."
Shiro apologized, he knew it was a bit excessive and impatient. He should have asked Ume for permission before taking him to space.
"Eh.. It's okay."
Then Ume ran first out of the Gate with a flushed face. Shiro could only shake his head at this, there was a hint of guilt in his heart.
Shiro walked out as well. As he exited, he saw Ume speechless outside, some of the troops pointing guns at them.
"Ume, are you okay?" ask a Ranger named Rey. He was his teammate when he was inside the Gate.
Ume nodded, her eyes slightly watering.
Rey was then pulled back by Anastasya who was not far there.
"Who are you?" anastasya asked cautiously.
"He's safe, just relax. She's not what you're worried about, Anastasya."
A voice rang out behind the Gate, Anastasya turned his attention and saw Shiro coming out of the Gate.
Upon seeing Shiro, Anastasya relaxed his vigilance. He also told the troops behind him to lower their weapons.
"What are you saying right?" ask Anastasya.
"Yes, just trust me."
Hearing Shiro's words, Anastasya gave a hug. Ever since the news of the Devil Race, Anastasya and some of the large Troops had started to be cautious.
Then Anastasya looked at Shiro, "Have you finished what's inside?"
"It."
Shiro then approached Anastasya and gave the Orb secretly to Anastasya.
Looking at the Orb Shiro had given him, Anastasya was initially surprised, then he nodded. He increasingly admired Shiro who could finish the Gate that could kill 40 heroes easily.
"Oh yes, I have something to talk to you about Association Chairman, can you call him in a moment?" whispered Shiro.
Anastasya nodded, then turned to face the troops behind him.
"Everything, Gate has been settled. Everything can come back. Thank you for taking the time."
Hearing Anastasya's orders, all the heroes who were preparing to enter the Gate, became confused. When is this Gate completed?
Everyone made a scene, but they could only leave after hearing Anastasya's orders.
"Miss, what about the promise the Hero Association gave you?" ask someone.
"Calm down, everyone can come back in peace. We'll keep paying your time, the promises we make will be kept."
Hearing Anastasya's promise, they breathed a sigh of relief. They could finally return quietly.
Shiro and Anastasya live in front of the Gate. No, there's still Ume behind Shiro.
"Why don't we just go back, you'll have an easier time talking to the Chairman if you come back" Anastasya said.
Shiro shook his head, "No, I'm already saying goodbye. And now I'm on my way to adventure, so I can't go back now."
"Okay, I'll call him now."
Then Anastasya started contacting the Association Chairman. This time, Anastasya used a Communication Crystal that could video call.
"Yes Anastasya, what's wrong? Is there a problem?"
The call was quickly picked up by the Association Chairman.
"No problem, everything's been solved."
"Oh, great. Uh, what did you say? Everything is done ? The gatenya is done?"
"Yes Chairman, Zero finished it alone."
"So, what are you calling me Anastasya?"
"Zero wants to talk to you."
Then Anastasya retreated, he approached Ume who was behind Shiro.
"So, what do you want to talk about, Zero."
Shiro nodded, "Can you tell me about the Skill Book?"
Then the Association Chief replied briefly, "Skill Book is a scroll containing skills."
"That's not what I wanted to ask, but the origin."
Hearing Shiro's rather high tone, the Association Chief fell silent for a moment. Then he sighed softly and began to answer seriously.
"Everything is as you guessed. The Skill Book came from a Skill that belonged to the hero that had left. The hero's death bequeathed one of his skills through the Skill Book."
After hearing the Association Chairman's explanation, it turned out that Shiro's guess was correct. Heroes that die like a game, will definitely drop something.
"Different from the humans who dropped the Skill Book, monsters did not. To become stronger, humans needed Skills obtained from Orbs. However there were not many good Skills obtained from Orbs. The Skill Book has helped humans in passing on abilities from generation to generation."
"So, all of the Skill Books circulating in the Hero Association, the Academy, and the large Guilds were from their dead heroes?" ask Shiro.
The Association Chief nodded, "Right."
"Dam." Shiro clenched his hands very tightly. "Then why didn't you tell me all this time?"
The Association Chief looked to sigh slowly. "Actually this is all closely guarded as a secret. That's why we haven't told you. You know if this news is widespread, humans will kill each other for selfishness and their submission to power."
Hearing the words of the Association Chief, Shiro fell silent. Then he nodded, what the Association Chief said was true. Shiro then listened to the continued explanation of the Association Chairman.
"You're too young and you've never seen your teammate's death, so we haven't told you. Besides, you have a unique skill, which is why I never allowed you to join Raid all this time."
Hearing the Association Chairman's explanation, Shiro fell silent. "Then what about the deaths of my two friends Brendy and Denshu? Both of them died before my eyes, why didn't they have a Skill Book when they died?"
"Because they're not old enough. Only heroes over 17 years old will bequeath the Skill Book after his death."
"But why?"
"I don't know either, maybe that's the rule of this world. Actually under the age of 17 years, the percentage to pass on the Skill Book is very small, smaller than 1%. While heroes over 17 years old, 100% will bequeath one Skill Book at random."
Hearing this, Shiro nodded. He finally understood all this. He may also be able to guess why the Yuki Family used to love sacrificing children under the age of 17.
They also fear loss if they sacrifice adult heroes. An adult hero would drop a Skill Book upon death, so it was a huge loss.
But if you sacrifice a child under the age of 17, they are not afraid of losing the Skill Book. Although the Skilk Book fell when the child was sacrificed to death, perhaps they would only argue that the Ice Elf Race was lucky at that time.
"Does that answer your question?" ask the Association Chairman.
Shiro nodded.
"Alright, then I'll close the call..."
"Wait a minute."
Before he could close the call, a voice came.
The Chairman of the Association, Shiro and Anastasya were shocked by the voice. Because that voice is Ume's voice.
"Who is Anastasya?" ask the Association Chairman.
"That was one of the survivors of this Gate. He was saved by Zero."
"So, miss, what's up ? Want my autograph?" asked the Association Chairman in a joking tone.
Ume then pointed to Shiro, "Zero whom you are talking about mentioned the names of my two friends as well, Brendy and Denshu. So I want to ask."
Hearing this, Shiro broke into cold sweat. He forgot that Ume was still nearby.
"I beg the Association Chief to answer truthfully, is he Shiro?"
