Chapter 74 - Regan already knows the culprit

Regan immediately pulls the two detectives away from Amanda and Renatta. He deliberately did not explain the true condition of Oma Lina because it was suspicious of the two. But her suspicions are bigger than Amanda's.

"Please search the lower floor area until it is clean. Find something that smells like pesticides. Must be poisoning Oma I'm over the intentional element. If any worker asks, or anyone else in the house begs to remain silent."

The two detectives immediately nodded and moved after Regan finished her remark. While Ozy was shocked when she heard Oma Lina was poisoned. Regan asks her to bring the detective home. Turns out oh apparently, there's a big problem like this.

Regan and Ozy return to the living room where Renatta and Amanda are. Regan's aura was still unfriendly. He even kept silent with a horrible look. Even so, Renatta was not afraid because he did nothing wrong. He approached Regan and immediately asked about Oma Lina's condition.

"Where is Oma's condition? What did the doctor say?" asked Renatta who was immediately stared sharply also by Regan but Regan still answered Renatta's question.

"Oma is still under examination. I don't know exactly what happened to Oma."

Amanda then replied.

"If it's like that, why do you have to bring a detective home? Did the examination results not come out yet?"

Regan immediately smiled cynically. Now he can guess that Amanda was the one who poisoned his Oma. His feet were trembling. But, he couldn't just accuse her, because there was no proof yet.

"What if I bring a detective home? I just felt this suspicious, Oma the person rarely vomited and fainted but it happened suddenly to her, like there was someone who had planned all this. I just want to make sure" Regan said lightly.

This, makes Amanda increasingly agitated and frightened. Even now his palms were sweating pain in fear. Instantly, he remembered something. He had already thrown the small bottle his mother had given him into the trash. He was very afraid that the bottle would be found. He immediately left on the grounds of peeing. Though he went to the kitchen to check the bottle so as not to be found by the detective earlier.

Unfortunately, the trash can is now clean. When she saw a maid cleaning the floor, Amanda asked about the trash can.

"So I threw the trash into the big trash can in front of Non because it was full" the maid replied.

Amanda breathed a sigh of relief. Moreover, the detective did not seem to have searched around the kitchen. The two of them were still searching near the storehouse.

Shortly thereafter, Amanda returned with a faint smile on her lips. Now he is no longer afraid and anxious. Because there's no evidence anything that's gonna ensnare him.

However, when he was near Regan again, somehow his guts became shrunk again. Moreover, Regan asked what they were doing earlier when the man was receiving a call.

Renatta answered first.

"So me and Amanda made orange ice in the kitchen together. Then go back to the living room and bring drinks and snacks. I brought the drinks and Amanda brought the jars. After that we drank, and Oma suddenly vomited after finishing the drink a few minutes later. Then pass out instantly until we all panic."

Amanda also agreed Renatta's speech so that he did not bother to explain. Amanda said goodbye because she had an appointment with her friend. Regan just let Amanda go home.

After Amanda's return, Renatta was again questioned by Regan to confirm something.

"Explain! Were you not on Amanda's side while making orange ice?"

"Yes, when I grab a snack in the closet. I wasn't on Amanda's side. And Oma vomited after drinking that iced orange. I'm guessing Amanda did put something in Oma's drink. But I can't prove it. Seeing that you came with a detective, something must have happened to Oma. If you don't want to believe my words, that's okay. I'm used to this. But, I did not do anything that could harm Oma Lina."

To be honest, Regan knew what Renatta said was not a lie. But he will remain vigilant and impartial between Renatta and Amanda in order to keep Amanda from doing anything that could ruin all her plans.

"You better go back to the apartment. I still have to take care of this. Maybe I won't go back there. I'll call you back."

Renatta looked wryly smiling. He is disappointed with Regan who can't believe him yet. It's free for them to have a relationship if they don't have trust in each other. Renatta just went home with the driver at home.

It makes Ozy wonder and upset to Regan. Because Regan looks distrustful to Renatta.

"I believe he's speaking the truth."

"Stupid! Then why are you acting like that? It's as if you don't believe in Renatta."

"I had to do that, so Amanda wouldn't do anything else to undermine this investigation. Do you not realize, if when he said he was going to the toilet, he did not go to the toilet but to the kitchen. I'm sure he wants to make sure something's there."

"But you shouldn't be acting like that with Renatta either. You hurt her heart again Regan!"

"I know."

"I know, I know! But you always hurt her."

Regan just kept quiet and didn't say anything to Ozy. Shortly thereafter, detectives approached Regan and brought a small bottle that had been placed into clear plastic.

"We found a small bottle that smelled of pesticides. We'll go straight to the forensics department. Surely it will be found a fingerprint so someone there. We found this in the trash. Then we asked the maid in your house to throw away the trash."

Regan nodded then thanked the two detectives for their work. He will wait until the forensic results are known.

After the two detectives left, Regan dropped her body on the living room couch. He felt that his life had always been unsettled since he was close to Renatta. But because of that, he knew that Amanda wasn't as good as he thought she was. Even so, he will remain with Renatta.

Amanda reached her home and immediately looked for her mother. He just reasoned that there was an appointment with a friend to get away from the Regan family home. He found his mother drinking milk coffee near the pool.

"What's wrong? Why do you look so nervous? How do you bring good news to your mom?"

"What good news is Ma? I was scared there to know. Regan brought the detective to her house. Looks like Oma Lina's situation isn't so good. I'm afraid Ma."

"But you didn't act recklessly right?"

"So I threw the bottle in the trash. But fortunately, the trash was already thrown away so I could breathe a sigh of relief."

"Thank God it was like that. Some of the contents of the bottle are just ordinary pesticides. At most Oma Lina was only in the hospital for two days. He'll recover quickly. Why bother hiring detectives all the time? What did Regan talk about? Did he accuse you or Renatta? How's he saying Oma Lina's situation now?

Amanda took a breath and answered.

"It seems Regan suspects both of us. He looked at us very sharply. I even goosebumps near her Ma. But, I'm glad that Regan hasn't been able to trust Renatta completely. That means there's little doubt about Renatta."

Amanda smiled happily.
