Chapter 15 The Ruse

The girl kept charging her run, chasing after something that somehow didn't seem anything. Though the girl was convinced that the vegetable delivery man should not be this fast, his awkward loss made Chiharu continue to feel bad premonition.

At the T-junction of the Chiharu Forest meeting Fu and Su who suffered a fate not much different from Chiharu on their quest, the girl was a little breathless for having searched for quite a while that afternoon.

"It looks like we have to go back, it's impossible to find the man, miss." Fu's advice was approved by himself and Su, and then during the day Chiharu returned with a restless feeling that struggled not to leave.

When they came home, the vegetables still looked intact there. In the end Chiharu got up from her seat, wearing extra clothes to avoid the cold air. Then towards the white horse that stood gallantly, certainly who else if not Lord Zhi the horse giver.

"Is it just my feeling?" chiharu muttered softly, maybe her voice can only be heard by herself.

The warm tea was served to ease Chiharu's mind load, feeling that the introduction of the vegetable was the focal point of her anxiety. The girl let out a weary sigh, hoping she found something whatever it was. He took the cup of tea that Fu had served, blew and savored the aroma before the golden liquid seeped into his mouth.

Chiharu tried to release the burden on her shoulders, just moments when the knock on the door interrupted her break. The knock was so rushed as if being chased by something, the girl ran to reach the front door. Opening and seeing whatever was behind the door there, and how surprised Chiharu was when he saw the scene in front of him.

The boy who had knocked on Chiharu's door, was so bad that the girl seemed to feel the pain. His clothes were torn with severe burns, his face dirty, but he still ran here. His cry broke when he saw Chiharu, pointing to the place where he had come. Asking for help implicitly.

Chiharu's quick jolt to catch up with time, so fast that it only takes a few minutes to reach the nearest village. Then a shocked face was placed on Chiharu's face, the girl again spurred her horse faster to get there immediately.

The night was bright red, smoke covered the dark night sky. The flames from various directions made the atmosphere so crowded, the cries of panic and pain mixed into one. When the horse could no longer get close due to the hot temperature of the burning village, Chiharu came down and tried to look around so horribly

Bodies appeared to lie there, some burning in flames and some standing due to straying wild animals.

A wild animal?

Seems like something evil, Chiharu continues to walk among the hot flames. Until his sharp ears caught something, a little boy screamed at the end of this village. The cry was shrill with help, Chiharu further accelerated her legs.

A terrible grin was seen across there, his bloody hand holding the lifeless body of the little girl. Then those eyeballs rolled around looking at Chiharu, as if the girl was more attractive than anything including the mess she was making.

The demon's body darted rapidly, hitting Chiharu's body which bounced back holding the demon's huge body. The demon was hairy, with large ears sticking out of its head. Some of his nails managed to injure Chiharu, stuck it firmly there.

Grimacing in pain Chiharu tried to pull the sword that was slung on his waist, when he managed to get the first slash managed to make the demon retreat. A little surprised when the creature laughed so happily, he grinned wider and licked his fingers. The rest of Chiharu's blood.

"Loose people, give up! Let me eat you and our business is done." his voice was like the growl of a wild beast, echoing forming a cry and making anyone tremble.

Again the creature attacked Chiharu ferociously, the sharp nails were ready to tear Chiharu's skin just a little if the girl was off guard. However, his injured condition made Chiharu retreat and remain cornered. The breath that Chiharu did was heavy, perhaps the nail of this creature was poisonous. I don't know Chiharu can't guess how she is now.

He tried to focus on his spiritual energy, enveloped his sword and started aiming at the demon. Of course the creature dodged quite easily, when Chiharu stopped attacking again the wolf-like creature approached Chiharu. Trying to re-eat him and when feeling victory on his side the demon smiled with a grin.

"I told you to give up!" the creature's sharp fingernails managed to pierce through Chiharu's stomach, tearing it apart and penetrating it out of his back.

Blue light enveloped the two as Chiharu channeled her spiritual energy into the free fingers, the beam grew bigger and swallowed the two, the echoing screams resounded. However, it does not belong to Chiharu, but to his opponent. "The one who gave up is you." The girl sat down, yet she still persisted with the remnants of her consciousness. Staring at his fallen opponent made Chiharu smile thinly.

Himself wins.

His arm was bleeding quite badly, so moving it even a little was difficult and numb. The creature sprawled beside Chiharu's body, Chiharu could hear Su's voice calling out worry. It seems like the poison started spreading inside Chiharu's body, and the girl also fainted on the spot. Next to the body of the creature, feeling slowly the darkness began to pick him up.
