CHAPTER 36. Persist

The singing voice of birds, melodious adorn the silence of the house on the hill. The wind blew gently caressing the silent foliage. The morning sun broke through the window of the room and blinded Arumeey's puffy eyes.

Arumeey opened his eyes and gathered every memory that happened yesterday. He felt a wound in his stomach, it was very painful. Arumeey got up and grabbed the hook flanking the window shutters. The morning sunlight instantly dazzled his gaze. Arumeey tried to blend in with the quiet atmosphere that morning.

After sitting for a while in the morning sun, Arumeey tried to get out of bed. With a gontai step Arumeey walked towards the bathroom. His hand held onto the wound on his stomach and with the other hand holding onto the wooden wall Arumeey continued to step over.

The warmth of the mountain water swept across his pale white face from the loss of a lot of blood.

After cleaning up, Arumeey bandaged his wounds and changed his clothes. He began to feel hunger screaming. Arumeey opened a cupboard in the kitchen and found dried meat that had begun to mold.

Arumeey took a knife and cleaned the meat from the onslaught of mushrooms that covered the surface of the meat, then cooked it with potluck ingredients.

The smell of the meat gravy gushing from inside the pot made him impatient to put the soup into his mouth.

After her stomach filled up, Arumeey began to recall what had happened to her. He begins to worry about Ishika's fate. What if the clothes go back to the store.

"But I'd better think of my wounds first. I need to get well soon" Arumeey drank the medicinal herbs she brewed into a small bowl.

For several days Arumeey did not leave his home, focusing only on his wounds to dry and heal. He uses dried meat and some plants around his house that he can use as food.

"Your highness. That girl is hard to find. We've searched all over Hwangguna but there's no trace of the girl" a soldier knelt before the king of Shaka.

King Shaka Hwangguna clenched his hands with a cruel cold face.

"Useless!. Send the soldiers to the cities of Karka and Kidoka as well as to all the surrounding villages!"

"Good noble" said eunuch Shohun.

"Wherever you go, I'll get you!" king Shaka said with a terrible smile like a hungry lion.

"What is that stupid kid planning?" said the head of the palace physician to several other palace officials.

"The king's majesty behaves like a child who has lost his toy" Lingmay said. The palace official who held the position of head of security.

"Hwangguna would be very weak if half the soldiers were sent all over the city just to find the useless grass" the head of the palace healer was made very furious with the manner of the king of Shaka.

"You're right, madam. It would be very easy for the rebels to carry out their long-held plans" other officials agreed with Lingmay's remarks.

Prince Zhumma clenched his hands. He's very angry. He was very worried about Arumeey.

Prince Zhumma got up from his seat. He walked away leaving the head of the palace physician who was smiling cunningly behind him.

Arumeey re-examined his dried wounds. He then took out a pair of scissors and looked at her for a moment with a doubtful look.

"No, I won't do it" Arumeey undid his intentions. He loves his hair too much.

He thought of another way. He remembered the hair color-changing potion then he immediately went out looking for some kind of grass that he would mix as a hair dye.

After getting the necessary grass, Arumeey immediately went back into the house and concocted a hair dye potion.

"This color will disappear if exposed to water. I have to be careful" Arumeey smeared the filtered potion all over her blond hair. Her hair looks brown.

"I have to get down to town. I need to find out what's going on"

After her hair dye dried, Arumeey put on shabby clothes and took out a shawl. He wears a scarf to cover part of his face.

Arumeey rode his horse and descended the black hill. He passed through the forest to the city of Taraka. The city that has been providing comfort has now become a threat to him.

Taraka became a cold city for Arumeey, he could not even lift his face for fear that anyone would recognize him.

Upon arriving downtown, Arumeey is greeted by leaflets about her search. He was very surprised. He did not expect King Shaka to go that far. Now Arumeey must be careful, he covered his face with his shawl.

He then walked to the market and bought some of his needs. He also bought food. After buying his needs Arumeey walked back. He abandoned his intention to meet Ishika, but he kept looking at the store. And it looks like Ishika is serving some buyers.

Arumeey is relieved to see Ishika is fine.

"He's suffered so much, I can't get him involved in my problems" Arumeey said in his heart.
